I'm on the verge of buying these for my new Pro 800. Is it easy to use the Synthribe app to update firmware and load sounds? It would be cool to have a video explaining this process!
Sounds great. I just got mine, and will be purchasing your patches. Out of interest for future, do you create custom patches for people? Eg, can you create various iconic sounds and put them into a pack for a cost, obviously 😅
Yes it’s comes with 100 patches… and then you can buy my 100 as well! The factory patches are the originals from the 80s so can be a bit lacklustre. If you like oboes and flutes though… 😂

protip: run some software on your PC/mac that allows you to put plugin's on your system audio. I put polyverse wider on my system audio to add stereo width so i can see how this will sound in a mix.
It’s funny how lots get annoyed with effects - they want to hear it raw and think fx are hiding the sound - and other who want it here them with FX. I now do less tones but with/without. … I still get comments 😂👍
Thanks.. hope you enjoy them. Use the SYNTHTRIBE app to load them to the synth. There’s one larger file that’s the whole bank of 100 presets. If you load bank into B C or D on the synth you won’t overwrite the factory sounds. Ir you can load one at a time wherever you like.
Everything is drowned in reverb. I know what reverb sounds like, and most synth demos on YT are covered in it. I want to know what the dry synth sounds like 'cos if it needs masses of effects to sound good, I'll go elsewhere. My Waldorf M sounds fantastic without any effects and I often record it dry. Does this sound weak dry?
No, it sounds like the Prophet 600 - watch my other demos. I’ve got you covered there in a fair few videos already. I put the reverb in to show what the sounds will be like in the mix, which is what most ask for when listening to patches. Watch any patch bank advert and it’ll have Fx on for that very reason. I’ll upload to my other channel @starskysounds the Fx free version. Btw I wouldn’t say setting a 10-15% mix of a very standard hall reverb as drowning them.
If you really want to showcase a synth, do it w/o reverb. My Prophet 12 has 4 Delay lines, but no reverb. I use the delay lines Sparingly. NO REVERB unless for an ambient drone or two!!!😶🌫😎
It's a good sounding synth, just not for me. Had they included the DM12 FX engine, it could have been something that I would have been interested in. This would have taken away the purist approach though, they made the right decision to leave off the FX section, but not the reason for me to buy.
That’s a rather odd perspective to me. I’m helping the people that have bought it. I bought it myself solely to show if it lived up to the marketing claims … and I demo’d its shortcomings. They have since mainly been addressed, possibly in part due to my detailed comparison. Those customers now have a better product. I have sounds here that show some more range of tones that can make the experience even better for them. I’m steering clear of the rest of it. I’m just a guy with a camera - helping people to understand what they’ve spent their cash on. Im not a major marketing corporation or media empire. So many people have asked, and I even did a poll where more people wanted to see it than not. I certainly don’t want to be a punchbag in someone else’s fight, but unfortunately there are people for whom even the mention of Behringer is a cancellation offence. If I ignore them I’m ignoring the people that want to know if the products are any good. So I am becoming a punchbag, stuck in the middle. I could just drop it and go with the flow, but that leaves others in the dark 🤷♂️ They’re not going to stop making these things. They’re the top selling products, far cheaper than others, and as such there are lots of skint people buying them. I don’t agree with tonnes of stuff they’ve done, but also don’t agree with letting others fend for themselves either. I really don’t want music to be elitist. The little guy always gets shafted and I’m supporting all the kids that can’t afford other brands. And I know everything’s fraught with hypocrisy and double standards and there’s nothing I can say to appease anyone (if the internet has showed anything it’s showed that you’ll never change anyone’s mind). Anything I or anyone else says on any side of a discussion will be picked apart, misinterpreted, ignored, belittled etc. so whatever I do I’ll get grief from someone. Hey ho….
@@StarskyCarr I really understand your position, but I think this is part of the Problem. If UA-camrs and other Musicians go on and support Behringer in what they do, they won't stop. And it is unnecessary if you supported Behringer in the past or future, if you say a wrong word they probably try to shut you up.
