These are Milgard windows. The grillwork did cost more to get that old school look, but turned out great with this craftsman house!

Yes sir, good catch. The header board is a 5/4x6” board

I don’t usually charge by the foot but rather per window or door. Charge more for larger window than a smaller one, and whether or not the casing has a crown, ect.
What type of glue do you suggest to use to adhear wood trim vertically, between a triple vinyl window, interior
For wood trim to glue together, I recommend wood glue, including on the end grain. If you are applying trim to drywall, vinyl, or other surfaces, I would recommend using a construction adhesive. Hopefully this helps! Sorry if I didn’t understand your question fully!
Hi Josh. I am confused? How do you measure for the sill? In this video, you mention measure for the window, not the rough opening. For example, in my application, they installed the window flush up against the left trim stud and left over a 1/4" space on right with big shims! So, its off centered. I measured inside opening + 7" (for trim) + 4" (overhang). Cut that board. Then, I marked the center of that board. Next, took inside opening, divided by two, took that number and measured on board left/right from the center line drawn on board. That would be where the cut should begin for the wrap around. Again, my trouble is, my window is not centered with the rough opening. How could I account for the extra space on the right? Would my way work and look good or not?
IN your video, you have a large space for the sill cut out where it meets the trim stud. You said it would be covered by the trim. If I did it my way and went right up to the rough opening on each side, how would someone know its off centered with the trim piece covering all? Any ideas?
Hi, your way would work if you want to follow the rough opening. The way someone would be able to tell if the window is not centered in the jamb is afterwards seeing a larger reveal from the window itself to the jamb. Like the left side would be different from the right side.
The reason I always go with the window is to keep the reveal consistent. Also when doing many windows, openings can vary while windows stay consistent, so I can mass produce the same cuts.
I'm assuming your 7" on the one side of the sill is for a divider between another window?
So in your instance, I would make sill to the size of the window, and then leave the gap on the one side. Shim the one side of the jamb to keep straight. Then hide the gap with casing.

Did you rip the sill 5/8"
Do you mean how far did the sill stick beyond the wall?? I had it 1.5” beyond the wall, which left 3/4” beyond the casing once finished. If I didn’t answer your question right, I apologize, I’m not sure I understand.
I'm about to do a similar project on some windows I have but none of the jambs are plumb. In fact they're pretty bad. How would I remedy this ??
Are your windows plumb and your frames are not? Mostly when I do windows, window frames are off a little bit, but since windows are plumb and undersized of frame, I build my jambs to window size and install square to windows.
My recommendation would be if window frames are making it so you are unable to get your jamb and sills to sit right, I would undersize them smaller than the window in order to get them to work and sit right.
@@buildingwithjosh so my original plan was to just leave the drywall return on the windows and frame around it but now I'm going to strip out the drywall return to see if that will help. Thanks for your response. If it doesn't really get better I'll do what you said and just shim it up and make it work

I did it the same way only the customer used a decorative trim and I put it around the outside and it looks like s***
Oh really, well sad to say sometimes, but as long as the customer is happy!
