    As much the RX7 is (over)hyped.... i would always go for the RS5.
    There is plenty of scooter you can get, and then there is TOO MUCH (in weight/size especially)
    Even my Vsett10+ is on the heavy/big side. Yes, the performance is awesome, range somewhat doable, but its a BIG BOY, not really recommended to put in your car more than once a month to be honest.
    Because of that i have a much smaller 24 kg (DIY built on a basic offroad scooter) performance scooter with full suspension and 2000W single motor on the rear but only 640Wh battery for weight savings, Its also convenient and hassle free in terms of maintainance (mechanical disc brakes, they just work), is pretty much flat-tire proof with its hybride setup (tubeless tires on the front, honeycomb on the rear) and this Scooter fits EASILY in any car, unlike my Vsett10+ which is a hassle to get in the car.

    I've had this scooter just over a month so far and yeah, this is a very nice scooter and well built. More than enough power for what I need.

      The P1 Pro and the RS5 Pro/Max have nearly identical handle bar height and max rider weight at 330lbs.
      I would say go for the RS5 Max if you want the most range and go for the P1 Pro if you want the most overall power (60v 26Ah battery).
      Both are well made and both have great customer service that's USA based and both have readily available parts that are actually in stock if you need them unlike most of the Alibaba brands.

    how was the handling without the steering damper ?

    • @Scooter-King.
      @Scooter-King.  25 днів тому

      It has more to do with your stance than anything. If you ride with all your weight over the back tire at high speeds, your probably going to want one.
      If you split your weight evenly probably not. Ive ridden a lot at top speeds and never felt the need for one but I also dont ride one handed often either.

    • @harrison00xXx
      @harrison00xXx 21 день тому +1

      Vsett10+ experience here with and without steering damper
      I would NEVER ride without it anymore after i tried it, even for slower speeds its awesome for one handed riding, but beyond 40 mph its really recommended anyways.
      Is the weight on the front, you can be pretty stable without damper, but to be honest... have you ever seen a dual motor scooter seizing the tires because of a fatal controller/Mosfet short? If you lean very much forward while this happens... you make a historical faceplant you will never ever forget.
      I rather ride balanced or more weight on the rear while going fast, therefor the steering damper allows for more stable high speed riding, in case the controller ever quits with a short on the (front) motor, i have some chance to get out of this accident less damaged. Also, for me balanced weight on front and rear feels anyways better than leaning forward like a maniac.

    Just ordered mine today, can’t wait. What size pmt tires would I use? Scootagang uses 11” but not sure if 10” would be a better option

    • @Scooter-King.
      @Scooter-King.  29 днів тому

      The rim size on the Max is actually 6.5 inch, not 6 inch so double check the PMT. So the difference would just be in the 'profile' of the tire ( how tall it is) Scootagand had to Dremel away a lot of his fender to make the 11 inch fit.
      Im doing a video right now on using the new 'ULIP Dual Tread" tires with the self healing gel that also use 6.5 inch rims, game changer.

      I upgraded from 10" to 11" (on Vsett10+) and i LOVE IT.
      If you are fine with the hassle and dremel stuff... go for 11" (or buy a big boys scooter with 12-13" tires)
      I tried once a friends chinese 5600W and 8000W peak scooter with 13" tires and its AWESOME. Its suspension is weaker and has less travel than my Vsett10+, but those huge tires make up for EVERYTHING, also he can go much lower on tire pressure for even more comfort.
      Still, as big as those tires are... its a 2000$ 100km/h+ scooter from china, it feels very unstable and dangerous to ride this thing, while my Vsett feels super stable and "safe".

    Such a beautiful, well engineered & high quality scooter 🛴. I recently ordered two of these in the sapphire blue. One☝️ for me & one for my beautiful wife. I actually just received a notification that they have just been shipped. I’m so excited. The removable battery 🔋 is such a beautiful option to have. We can ride in the city’s without range anxiety as we can charge inside of any coffee ☕️ shop or restaurant whenever we take breaks etc. We currently have two Kaabo Wolf king Gt’s that we love & enjoy but it doesn’t have this option so this was my (excuse) to buy these roadrunner rs 5 max scooters 🛴 😂 😉. Beautiful Detailed & informative review. Thank you 🙏. Such an underrated channel. 👊

      Funny.
      I bought exactly for this reason and others an older model, to NOT have removable battery.
      1) the locking mechanism looks on most scooters questionable, especially the electronic ones... imagine it locks itself and then the controller for it dies?!
      2) battery prices.... i rather pick a 60V 35Ah battery from alienrides (Vsett10+) than from the manufacturer a replaceable and worse 25Ah LG battery for the same price.
      Also, the older Vsett had better brakes (Nutt instead of Zoom), split rims/tubes (i prefer it for easy swaps/repairs) and all the issues first gen Vsett10s had the pre owner fixed or made it even better than a stock Vsett from factory (better bolts, screws etc EVERYWHERE)

    Its unfortunate this is a 52v. The competion is 60v and above.

    • @Scooter-King.
      @Scooter-King.  22 дні тому +1

      Voltage is more directly related to top speed, the battery Ah or capacity is directly related to overall range and battery life.
      You can have a 72 volt system with a lower capacity battery (18ah - 23Ah) and aside from short top speed bursts, the overall performance and range will be terrible. It will have terrible battery sag on the last half of the charge making much of lower half unusable. It will definitely go crazy fast on a fresh charge but then die a quick death.
      What makes the Max so unique is the 32Ah battery, that's a massive difference in the 'usable' part of the battery for a scooter that goes 50mph.

    • @harrison00xXx
      @harrison00xXx 21 день тому

      @@Scooter-King. Let me introduce you to the ESC S1-X, it has a 55V system, yet it delivers 2x6000W if i am right. Absolute beast of an performance/racing scooter, sadly not possible to purchase as a normal person.
      Most regular and commercial available Scooters with 60V barely have 2x2000W, more like 1200-1600W per motor, only 72V systems bump that up to extreme numbers.
      Also, i built even a 48V scooter with single 2000W motor (more than my Vsett!) out of a electrically broken 1000W 48V scooter. Yes the wires get a bit thicker but the 200A VESC based controller even prepared for dual motor (2x100A) and up to 72V doesnt really care as long the battery performs good enough.

    • @harrison00xXx
      @harrison00xXx 21 день тому

      Doesnt matter too much.
      If i would have to pick again, i would not mind losing lets say 20-30% acceleration and top speed to get more range and reliable electronics.
      And i dont even ride a "fast" 60V scooter, "just" a Vsett10+.

    Loving it so far, any idea how to adjust the brake tension? My rear brake doesn’t release all the way occasionally causing a slight grind

    • @Scooter-King.
      @Scooter-King.  19 днів тому

      That may have more to do with the adjustment of the brake caliper itself than the pads not releasing all the way even though it can sound like it sometimes.
      You have to dial in any new scooter and I had to adjust my rear caliper for the same reason. Its takes a few tries to get make sure the caliper sits 'squarely' over the rotor.
      It challenging because when you tighten each of the 2 Allen screws, it moves the caliper slightly as you tighten them down.
