Electric Scooter Tire Change Step By Step - No Pry Bars Trick
Great video! Your content on the RS5 Max was instrumental in me choosing the RS5. I like your mirror set up. Where did you get the bar and clamps?

@@Scooter-King. Thank you!
This is the best video i have seen on a tire change for a escooter. Its direct to the point and your method works way better than any other method. Good job man. Hope to see more videos on other scooter stuff. All the way from Chicago Il, I thank you
Great video !! I have a question I’m 6’3 275 lbs and live in a slightly more hilly area , I’m looking for a commuter to ride to work , would this scooter be good for someone bigger as my self ? Or what do you recommend for the same price point? This is extremely attractive with the removable battery!
It's definitely a balance, the heavier the rider, the more reduction in range. But the RS5 Max is a beast of a hill climber for sure. The 32Ah battery is the key for heavier riders. The bigger Ah rating, the better for bigger riders. Beware of big motors and high voltage as these will have much higher top speeds but, drain the battery much faster. The Emove Cruise 2 is worth a look as well but I think the weight range is a bit lower.
@ do you think it’s worth it to wait and see what the awd version will be like before making a final purchase?
@@MrMajinbu the 60v dual motor looks really good for heavier riders but its pre-order only at the moment. Can't wait to see real world reviews on this when it's available. Might be worth the wait.
@ thanks for the wisdom
What do you guys at Esg and everyone in the comments think the rs5 Max stands up against the Kaabo Wolf Warrior 11 pro+, inmotion rs lite, Teewing x5 or Teewing Z4?
I knew before I watched it would make it love my RS5 Vraaaaap I’ve got a pro with max controls and max battery
Hi, thanks for the non-destructive method, was looking for it! So far, how is your experience with the hybrid tires? Are they quiet on straight roads?
Vert quiet, but still have enough tread on the side wall for light off road trails.
Nice video and impressive mileage… maybe I missed it but what is your height and weight?
5'10" and I'm 180lbs
@ would you say this scooter would be ok for myself being I’m 6’3 270 ?
@@MrMajinbu The Max version for sure, heavier riders really need the extra 32Ah size battery to keep the range in the same ballpark as the Pro version with lighter riders. Most scooters range is calculated with a 150lb rider so factor that in.
@ thank you man
I wonder if it would do just as well if you had the seat on it. But still might have me sold on this scooter
I saw they just included the seat with the purchase! Killer deal.
I have similar one same built different name. I’m 250lb and get 12 mile range with hills 2400w duel motor. This was in 2nd gear and light on trottle. Died 3/4 way home and luckily my buddy tow me with a strap we carry just in case.
Heavier riders definitely want to look at bigger Ah size batteries and not bigger motors. Big motors just drain the battery capacity faster and suck range.
these trails look amazing! Houston doesn't have this.
Bend Oregon is a pretty amazing place to ride for sure, especially in the summer.
Where do I get the mirrors!
amzn.to/3ZMvZaI
I'm about to buy the rs5 max would you recommend something else in the same price range
the Nami Klima and the Kabo Mantis King Gt are close contenders but you give up the removable battery option in both.
Thanks mate! Mechanic tip, if it helps, after seating the bead and with low pressure in the tyre, roll it on the ground while pushing down on it to settle the tyre into place completely. That might help reduce any balance or out of round issues. I do this with tubed tyres on mtb wheels mainly to settle the tube.
Where can I find the mirrors
Lightweight Handlebar Mirrors: amzn.to/3Zuy6RJ
That has to be the most top-notch method I've seen. Thanks very much for sharing!
Is it just me, or is it impossible to find the Nami Klima Max in stock anywhere?
The Nami and the MaxFun have really taken off this year, crazy good deals.
Yume X11+ arrived today. 10 days not too bad I guess for the savings.
I just got the pro this Saturday, wow, I been riding the d4 +2.0 which I thought is insanely amazing, but this one is next level with the suspension and platform, I can't afford above 2K and up so the November discounts really help me stay under 2K, best deal ever
Definitely a killer ride!
I thought about getting the rs5 max.. but came across another scooter that caught my eyes! Especially for the price and specs.. came with lights, steer damper included and self healing tires for 100 less then the rs5 and its a little faster then the nami klima on the 0 to 30 clocked in 4.5 nami 4.9
Sounds like a killer deal!
I hear the music now...but, instead of singing "Man on the run", I'm hearing "Tacos on the run".
🤣🤣🤣
Please help me!!!! I have a Hover 1 BOSS R500 I'm trying to find a replacement rear tire. It a solid rubber tire, do you know if there is a replacement? And if yes how do you replace it? I can't find out a whole lot of information about it. I'm brand new to e scooters and I'm really loving my scooter. The tire that's on it still has a lot of life left but I'd rather have a new one on if possible. Thank you and I subbed your channel
The issue on the Hover 1 BOSS R500 is actually the rims themselves. They look to be specifically designed for solid tires, so replacing them with tubeless tires is probably not possible. Good news is you won't have to worry about flats with these solid tires but, they are put on with a hydraulic press at the factory and can be quite difficult to change as they are originally stretch-pressed over the rims at the factory. The honeycomb tires won't have the lip (bead) that tubed /tubeless tires do that allow you to pry/push the bead over the rims. I would look for a scooter/ebike shop in your area and see if they offer a tire swap service for solid tires.
@@Scooter-King. Thank you so much for your reply. I'm going to look in to it. The one on there now isn't all that bad, I'm just picky a d like my stuff looking 😊
Test the taverun blade gt 2!
I consistently get 36 miles per charge.. The Solar P1 2.0 is AWESOME...
What protective gear do you normally where when your riding it?
I usually wear knee pads and shoulder pads as well as a helmet and gloves.
I meant to comment a little while back but will say I am totally impressed by your result Steve.I own this scoot and love it.What a combo of motors, controllers and battery to achieve this 👍👍👍ready to mod as I stated on an earlier vid.Edit, that area of Oregon looks very scenic and I love it as a person who lives all the way over in the small state of Delaware.
I will be trying this method on my tires.
Thrse videos make this seem to easy
Its definitely easier than damaging your rims with metal tire spoons for sure
Thanks for sharing your knowledge on getting challenging tyres on
That's awesome...Slightly Stoopid to kick off the ride!!! I've been following them since '97. Got engaged on stage with the boys in Mexico at Closer to the Sun festival. Looking seriously at this Roadunner Pro model for my commute to Waikiki to go work. This looks like so much fun just to go putt around on!! Still don't understand why the steering dampiner doesn't come stock..seems absolutely essential or else death wobbles. Thoughts?
Definitely a great show that night! Honestly Ive had mine over 40mph a lot and have never had speed wobbles but if top speed is all you do, you may want to consider it.
@@Scooter-King. Speed is not my priority. Seems like half of the advertisments I see are really focused on speed which is not as important as overall handling, reliability, and quality parts. The 45 or 46 mph max I feel is perfect for long straight aways. Thanks for sharing your experience re speed wobbles.
The wheel you put in the description is an 11 inch 90/65-6.5 but the RS5 comes with a 80/65-6.5 10 inch… just checking if the 11 inch works?
Thats because I'm riding the RS5 Max which has the 6.5 inch rims (11inch tires) Your correct in that the other RS5 models all come with 6 inch rims (10 inch tires)
What did they upgrade or update the rims and tires or different style of rs5? @@Scooter-King.
You might have the older rs5 with1200 watt motors compared to the max that has 1400 watt.
I'll admit, with my first scooter, I used tire wrenches. Getting the tires off was easy, but getting the new ones on was somewhat difficult. If course, a big part of the reason was that the new tires were airless (but not 'solid') tires. With the new scooter (yes, the RR RS5 Max), and with the ulip tires (also recommended by you), I think I'll give this method a try...but, with one slight difference. Because of the gel layer along the entire inside of the tread area, I'm thinking that using the clamps might not be good...that it could 'damage' the gel layer. So, I'll just have to hope that the silicone spray is enough to get the job done.
Let us know how it works out!
You can use zip ties instead, its a bit wasteful but it should work just as well
Lol f all that bs i love my split rim done in less then 8mins 😅
@@oklahomascootin with the new tubeless gel tires, I don’t have to change them…….at all.
@Scooter-King. only when tread wares down lol
Great vid Steve.I am subbed and I know you are trying to build the channel and I like your content.Keep at it.I want to get the bigger rotors and do pads this off season.I have this scooter in blue which I got in June and I love it.This was a nice torture test for the battery, controller, and motors which as you stated is an excellent combo.I rode mine down my beach place in NJ all summer and it is all flat but now that I got it home there are more hills and have not had a chance to replicate what you did but that grade was crazy. This vid showed me I made the right choice after doing a lot of research.I also want to do the tire upgrade👍👍👍

I love your channel, can you review the ausom gallop on this hill. i bought it a month ago.i live in Florida and we don't have hills,I think this scooter 🛴 can meet the challenge.
I would love to get a Ausom Gallop to test, fingers crossed!! Have to get a lot more Subs before they send me test units unfortunately.
Ok, I'm sure you probably knew I was going to ask this. Did you already have this one filmed, before I suggested it in the comments of the previous "hill challenge" video? Or, did you actually film it after reading my suggestion? I'm going to guess the first 'option'...but, either way, thank you. GREATLY appreciated. 👍👍 This only further proves that my decision to get the RR RS5 Max (over other possible options) was a good decision. I have to admit, a decent part of that decision was based on your review of the scooter. As a 'bonus' point, I've also ordered the ulip tires...again, based your your video. Another upgrade to be done soon is the brake rotors. While the stock rotors are 'good', I'd prefer 'better'...so, heading my way (should be delivered by this weekend) is a pair of GALFER 140mm Wave Silver rotors. I'm considering the possibility of replacing the brakes (for example, maybe the NUTT 4-caliper brakes), but I'm not sure what, if any, other brakes will properly fit on the RS5 Max/Pro.
lol actually, it was a little of both. I had filmed some B roll for the RS5 earlier in the summer when it was warmer. Then we lucked out and got a killer day, so was able to finish this mostly by the time I read your comment. Great suggestion.
Great video. If you're taking 'recommendations' for other scooters to do this challenge (and other challenges), how about the Roadrunner RS5 Max? 👍👍
Great suggestion!
Kukirin g3pro
They are quite different now. The G3 Pro is more like the original RS line with all the older components and tubed tires and lower controllers and battery.
@Scooter-King. să înțeleg că RS este mai bun
Thanks for the clamp trick By the way, WD 40 is bad for rubber, it drives it dry , then will worn off faster. Silicone grease or spray is better for rubber.
If you notice at 06:56 I am using “specialist silicone” specifically made for rubber safe applications.
Any of these for 10in?
These are for 10" tires amzn.to/3ChDw9v
@Scooter-King. do you know if the engwe y600 is a tubeless tire from stock. Or comes with tube?
@@buddahmayne9273 From what I've read, they are tubed tires. Makes sense at that price.
I love these tires on my INMOTION RS
Between the solar p1 and nanorobot d4 max which one would you suggest? I’m open to any recommendations for under 1400. I don’t off-road and would use it on regular terrain to go to school and etc. My main concern is reliability and just best bang for my buck specially with all the sales they have on their website. For reference I’m 6 4 250 pounds. Great video btw !!
Both those are really close in performance but, I would lean towards the Nanrobot D4 Max at the moment just because it has C type suspension and a slightly lager battery. The Solar P1 has 18Ah battery with 1200 Watt motors and Max weight of 330lbs, and the Nanrobot has 23Ah battery with 1200 Watt motors and a max weight of 265lbs. But it weighs a bit more at 70lbs vs the Solar at 57lbs. If portability is a big issue then the Solar takes it. Currently the Solar is $1,299 and the Nanrobot $1,199 for the Pre-Order but goes up when that's over. So it's really what features are the most important to your riding style.
@@Scooter-King. Thank you for your response, I have heard mixed reviews about support regarding the nanorobot customer service. My main thing is reliability and support after a year. Also I have been thinking about the Apollo city pro What has been your experience with either or?
@@iliyadkarami1979 I dont have support experience with Nanrobot as all their support is overseas and email only. My support with Solar has been great and very responsive. Stateside stores on both east and west coast. To be fair, every scooter manufacturer does support via email these days, so it's probably boils down to the scooter that has the features you want.
@ the Apollo City Pro is a bit pricy but here is a good unbiased review for info about customer service: ua-cam.com/video/6atg7I1kdso/v-deo.htmlsi=-a4hW3rGc2MutGrn
Anyone know where to get a good pair of road tires? My off roads suck when riding in the street, just want something more smooth.
Check these out, super smooth road tread on top and semi off road tread on the sides. Best of both worlds. ua-cam.com/video/8r4eSq_vJe8/v-deo.html
@ Thank you, I very much appreciate the help. I’m going to try these out and see how it goes.
As the stock tires are 10", and these are 11", what (if any) mod did you have to do to make certain they aren't hitting anything (such as the fenders)?
On my RS5 Max the fenders were really close. So I just put some washers under the fender screws and raised the fenders up about an 1/8 inch. Worked great.
@Scooter-King. Thanks for the info. Greatly appreciated. Ordered the scooter last night (is shipping today, and should be delivered tomorrow), followed several minutes later by ordering the tires (and a spanner wrench set). Just curious, but, are the screws/bolts holding the fenders metric or imperial, and what diameter? As I'm heavily involved in RC, I tend to keep spacers on-hand having various IDs, and various lengths. If I don't have something that would work in my stock, I can easily obtain them from Amain (one of my usual go-to sources for RC stuff).
It wasn’t deep enough! Any tire can take a quarter of an inch puncture.
@@Badland52 my stock tires couldn’t
If your tire is less than a quarter of an inch-thick, then you have a inner tube 😃
Really good advice and i would have never used clamps. And the silicon based spray is all we should be using... thank you, because ive used both soapy water and the usual WD-40 till now. Big mistake.
How has the scooter lasted in the long run your videos are great tests and im thinking about getting one of these i only really need to go like 6 miles to the skate park and back its got some hills or i can take a gravel path idk im about 200 pounds with my skateboard and bag probably 220lb and do you have any other suggestions at this proce point ?
There are some seriously good scooters now in this price point for sure. For heavier riders and payloads you definitely gotta look at the V Max VX4, the Emove Cruiser V2, and the Punk Rider Pro. I would even look at the Nanrobot D4-Max for the best overall value as an alternatives to the Solar P1 .3.0, especially if you plan on any off road stuff since these all have C-Type suspension. The Solar is a killer scooter but the front shock design kinda limits its terrain options a bit. But for travel, its hard to beat.
@@Scooter-King.Is that scooter worth buying??? Do they make a seat for it???
@@snoopysrc They do have a seat option for the Solar P1 3.0 and its currently $1,299 base, so its definitely a good deal.
Great video my g!
I just ordered mine can’t wait to get it
It doesn't always work, it just really depends on what puncture you get really. I hit a 4 inch wood screw and my self healing tire walls and it was shredded.
I would love to see the entire inside coated in a future version instead of just the tread area. Here's hoping.
Well the tire walls aren't coated so I'm not understanding how you're expecting the tire to seal the puncture where there is no sealant. Or are we missing something?
Same here and had an instant flat
p
