- During the Overwatch League Grand Finals weekend, the pick and playmaking of Roadhog became a focal point of various compositions.
Teams who were able to craft tactics around this hero and figure out ways to mirror and counter their opponents knowing full well what they would probably be facing became a highlight of the finals.
In today's video, we take a look at how the Shanghai Dragons became masters of the grand finals meta and how they executed a variety of mirror compositions versus the Seoul Dynasty.

It's not the same team at all, the only player that was in both s1 and s3 is fearless and he's improved a lot

the fact that fearless played this well on hog makes me even more surprised that shanghai ran stand1 in the finals.
yeah, i always assumed that they ran stand because fearless under performed on hog, dont know what they were thinking.
it makes no sense at all, i think thats the number 1 reason they didnt make the grandfinals

I mean shock already beat the dragons, if they cant beat competition in their region then they dont deserve to be in the finals. Dynasty beat them and deserved to atleast try to beat the shock which they only met in the finals

yeah maybe stand1 performed better while training, but I believe fearless is the player that could bring us clutch performance under pressure.

@@aizatalfateh the coach overthought it. Fearless was part of the six that dominated APAC the whole year so I dont know why you would suddenly sub in stand1 and ruin all the chemistry. Even if stand1 was a better hog, fearless was their main piece in their team success.

Fearless is good, but I think their rematch in the grand finals losers bracket showed that Gesture is the best hog player in OWL

@@sambeelman4191 only reason why i think super did better than gesture is that gesture was given a lot more to work with since creative was playing ana, he got sleeps to help him, nades to increase his healing and survivability, and pretty much all the nanoes, super had to just live with zen/mercy heals with moth pocketing striker half the time and he still managed to keep up with gesture, super himself admitted on stream that he objectively thinks shock were playing the meta wrong and the only reason it worked is that viol2t is just that good at zen,
You know hog was broken when he one shot a nanno genji
With a 60% damage boost. ~250 dmg average on a genji. multiply by 1.6 to 400/2 = 200 dmg. Roadhog's max damage before the buff was 300. He could do this shit way before the buff, you just need healers with not totally abysmal reaction time and 2 minutes in the training range practicing one shots, not factoring in the hook.
The buff just makes it easier. Genji was dead whether roadhog had the buff or not.
