Agreed. I went in completely blind with zero knowledge of LoL, and I was glad because I was just able to enjoy the amazing story without getting distracted by scouring for Easter eggs. One question that didn't make sense though. Zaun aka the Undercity was portrayed as being a lower foundation level upon which Piltover was built. However, it was ALSO portrayed as a sister city built across a river and separated by a large bridge. Would anyone kindly make sense of this discrepancy for me? Thanks
I'm pretty sure it's because Zaun is a city that is built vertically. The very top of Zaun would be on the same level with Piltover, so there would be a bridge that connects the two cities. I think this is why, but not completely sure.
Watch Schnee's video about it. It is just one minute, but he even uses maps to show the layout of the cities. I promise, it makes sense. He explained really well. Here is the link: ua-cam.com/video/evkK-MQWcYA/v-deo.html&ab_channel=schnee
Zaun and Piltover were, according to lore, originally 1 city. I believe that Zaun sunk below ground level when they tried to dig a river between the city for trading (because airships didn't really exist at the time), and thus became known as Zaun. It's not technically a city of it's own yet, and in Arcane it's the underworld of Piltover, but by the time League of Legends rolls around Zaun is it's own city

Became a fan of League's music, lore, and cinematics through learning about Jinx, Vi, Caitlyn, Ekko, other Piltover/Zaun champs, and K/DA so I'm really glad about how Arcane gives several characters depth such as how Vi has a caring heart and streetsmarts, Jinx being a genius while having much more grim side with lifelong guilt, the amount of trauma they've been through, Caitlyn and others being more open-minded, the bond Vi and Cait share, and how there are other champions that want the best for Piltover and Zaun based on their potential instead of continuing the divide between both cities.
I actually did want to include him, but I ended up omitting his section to lessen the workload on me when editing and decided to instead focus on the characters I found most interesting. But, he's still a super cool character with a really compelling character journey/progression.
Silco stole the show for me, but I recommend people going in blind on his story if they can. The way that he's basically introduced as a James Bond villain in the first two episodes made what his story actually became a lot more surprising and impactful for me.
I still remember when we got the teaser for Jinx , Caitlyn investigating her crimes , the weird childlike drawings that hinted at a kid , but the crimes were too atrocious even for adults. Seriously I fell in love with Jinx before she was out in the game , and now all my time playing league has paid off , because in the game there are little interactions between characters , when Vi came out she was in the same place as Jinx but it wasn't destroyed , there were theories about them being sisters because of skin splasharts , etc. The ending made you realize that while Zaun became independent , the war just started , and it will mostly keep going because of Jinx , and she will be everyones enemy , just like in the shows song.
I have never played LoL, nor was I familiar with any of the characters from the game save for Jinx and even then, I only knew her because of my involvement in the costume community. When the announcement and subsequent trailers for Arcane first hit the air, I was intrigued, but I was no where even CLOSE to prepared for what Arcane brought & IT BROUGHT IT HARD...this show is easily one of the most amazing things to ever grace any screen, the cinematics, background artistry, story and characters are simply mind blowing. @@morty7145 it is excellent except for the last few seasons when they ran out of books to go off of and the producers were basically tired of doing the show so they're like, "Yeah we're gonna wrap this up real quick ok."
I started to watch it because of the artstyle and music of the trailer. The show blown me away, the voice acting, characters, plot, details, scenery are absolutely stunning to say the least. Haven't had a show made me feel like this in a long time, absolutely one of my top favorites.
One thing that no-one ever seems to catch about Powder's story.. even her home life was stressful. In the kids' playroom, Milo's face is drawn on the punching target... obviously by Powder. Why? Well, consider every single interaction involving Milo and Powder... he is constantly shitting on her, almost to the level of outright bullying. But, why? Think of Milo's interactions with the "cool kids" of the group.. Vi dumps on Milo a lot too... he feels inadequate in the light of Vi and Claggor. In the fight, Milo gets his butt handed to him.. Vi and Claggor win the fight themselves, basically. So, there is a clear hierarchy in the group of kids. Vi, Claggor, Milo, Powder. Vi dumps on Milo, Milo passes it on to Powder.. shit rolls downhill, right onto the head of the littlest one... EXACTLY like it works in a real-life family, right?
I did go into this series without knowing a single thing about League of Legends. One of my closest and oldest friends introduced me to the series. What got me interested was the comment on the technology Gap between the upper class and the rest of society. Then of course there's the relationship between Jinx and VI. As well as every other character in the show. How it didn't feel like some fan service show. Or relied on the fact that you needed to play the game to understand what was going on. Because you don't. Everything felt well cooked and fleshed out in terms of writing. Except for the fact that sometimes the dialogue seem to come from video game cutscenes. The standard ones not the above the rest kind that are worth noting. Then of course then the art of the animation. Point is the show's great and I'm glad I got introduced to it.
I think _Arcane: League of Legends_ , if view in the context of all nine episodes so far, sets a standard overall excellence in scripted entertainment we haven't seen in many years. It's arguably better than any TV show or movie released in 2021 in terms of pacing, character development, and flat-out awesome artistic design.

I think of the many videos I've seen praising the series, yours is the best. I must give credit to your narration style, and also strongly your editing. You have a great eye for pacing, for putting a story together, for drawing emotion with scenes and music, and you have a gripping way of speaking that carries the story and fills it with emotion. Thank you for giving your talents to this video and this show.
I knew nothing of LoL before this series. I’m not a gamer. I came into this as a blank slate. Cut to me binging this series, not by choice but by the fact that I just couldn’t put it down. It is, simply, a tour de force and deserves all the kudos and awards.
Before Arcane, Invincible was my top animated show of the year. I loved the overall story and the originality of its take on the superhero genre. However, I was still excited to see what Riot would do with this show. They blew my expectations away. Orchestrating an array of unique characters, each with different motives and values, into an extremely cohesive story is something that is incredibly hard to do. Not only that but the focus on its core characters and their development was phenomenal. While I still debated with myself on what was the better show (Invincible vs Arcane), ultimately Arcane just has more to offer. Unique animation on par with Spiderman: Into the Spiderverse, compelling story, original soundtrack, and an insane amount of understanding and detail to the source material all contribute to this show. I'm not only looking forward to the next season, but also any additional projects they do (I really hope they make shows covering the Freljord and Noxus).
Great video man l love this show so much. l am a bit worried season 2 won't live up to the first but l will choose to have faith in the writers. You described my feelings on jinx perfectly.

I hope ziggs appears he and heimerdinger are friends maybe ziggs could befriend jinx and help her with her bombs or fishbones. Well heimerdinger and ekko makes the zero drive definitely a luke Skywalker and yoda moment especially if ekko carries him on his back. And the Yordles could be like the yodas of runeterra. So ekko and jinx can have a round 2.
I think Powder's reaction to her entire family marching off to possible death after already losing so much was reasonable. Her panic was totally understandable if you're really in her shoes.
Jinx supplants Joker-esk characters like Harley quine, as for joker. really depends on the run but as long as the leto joker is out of the running from the start

Silco was the best character, my fakking go, he is THE best villain Ive ever seen. He beats Darth Vader, Thanos, Hannibal Lecter, all of them. None even comes close. Granted his greatness _IS_ tied to Jinx who is almost as unbelievably written. I could accept that they togeather are the best characters but if I had to pick just oen. Silco is my choise.
I've never played League of Legends I don't have the intention to either - I'm not that into gaming. But I've always loved their cinematics'. It's also why I like Fnaf and Overwatch - I'm there for the story and the charcters. so when I heard about Arcane i jumped straight into it and was blown away. I love Riot's short animations they do - but oh my god, Arcane surpassed my expectations by 100.
I believe going in blind is probably best. I did. If I had known who was a champion or not, that would certainly take some of the stakes out of the story, because obviously they're not going to kill off a champion, not this soon anyway.
I feel like If champions could be killed in the series...then I believe Jinx and Vi could end up patching up their differences and just except each other’s change...making their opposite personality a magnet way better then Caitlyn x Vi....but I feel like if they still could kill champions either Vi or Jinx would die or both after accepting changes in one another

Never has a show ever fucked me up for so long. Watching it over and over again does not lesson this. From my experience it amplifies it. I absolutely love the show, it breaks me into pieces though.
Greatest show I have ever witnessed.
Zaun pretty much doesn't exist, when it does they will be sister cities, a large event in the next 2 seasons will make it clear.
@@rumq9305 I'm pretty sure Zaun used to exist as an actual sister city, but it sunk.
I watched this with my mom. She enjoyed it. She usually thinks anime is just for kids. Then the kids die.
Anime is not for kids lmao. But I guess a lot of western people think that way because here a lot of animation or the majority is aimed at kids it's a shame tbh
Dont disrespect Arcane by calling it an anime
ItS a CaRtOoN, NoT aNiMe!!!
@@stevenbartel5008 _arcane is both cartonoon and animei_
@@Alltheprayers The animation of arcane is by Fortiche, a French studios. And that's no coincidence: French animation is, in the western world, the one that tend to mix western and anime style of animation; has been since at least the 80's. Think inspector gadget back in the day, Moi Renart, totally spies, miraculous ladybug more recently (but you could go even further in time, with the masterpiece "le roi et l'oiseau", the king and the mockingbird, that inspired Miyazaki himself, yes, the king of anime, founder of Ghibli.)
You mean best animated series ever?
I have never seen a series with higher quality animation, writing, acting, audio, pacing, and just everything in general.
This didn't just set an insanely high bar for video game adaptations, but for all animated shows. The level of detail and passion that was clearly put into it is astounding.
Studio Ghibbli, Mappa, TOEI Animation, KyoAni, and lastly UFOTABLE...... u sure Riot's Arcane is the best animated series ever...? When only in Japan they have Giants who literally focused on godly animated series
@@Renagade01 Well those giants have been caught sleeping.
@@hell5fire974 sleeping? have you seen any Demon Slayer clips recenlty? that is made by Ufotable
@@Renagade01 Yes, and it pales in comparison to arcane, it relies on a lot of the same old tricks that animation workmills have been using for years to pump out soulless work.
Does it look flashy? Of course. Does it look good? Yes. But doesn't it have that same level of care and detail required to have a scene tell an entire emotional narrative without a word being spoken based on the characters facial animations alone? Not even close.
@@hell5fire974 ?? bro i can't get you hahahha if you can't accept that this anime: Nagi no Asukara, Demon Slayer, Fate Series, Stusio Ghibbli movies and Akira are better then bro i dont you really understand you aside from writing because this studios just serialize a series of a maga from different mangakas . as for Animation wise Arcane is at the level of MHA or AoT, i don't know about audio but if you want to compare audio Compare them to Fire Force or One Punch.... well what Im just saying sayimg Arcane is the best animation been produced.... I can only think that you have just watched disney or pixar animations
It had absolutely no business being this good and I'm eternally grateful it is.
I loved this video but sadly no words for Silco the GOAT
I actually did want to include him, but I ended up omitting his section to lessen the workload on me when editing and decided to instead focus on the characters I found most interesting. But, he's still a super cool character with a really compelling character journey/progression.
@@Yatoru1 Totally understandable
Not just animated, and not just this year imo. I think it's the best show I've ever seen.
Every one owes it to themselves to experience this absolute cinematic masterpiece
well done Riot, well done and thank you
I've watched the season 3 times now. Better every time! My goodness I am obsessed.
Rookie numbers
Imagine a character based of harley quinn, only to end up to be a better and a more well rounded character than harley quinn ever was.
BEST SHOW since GoT first few seasons, not simply "Best animated show" of the year.
i slep on game of thrones, i probably should watch it when i have nothing better to do
@@morty7145 it is excellent except for the last few seasons when they ran out of books to go off of and the producers were basically tired of doing the show so they're like, "Yeah we're gonna wrap this up real quick ok."
I started to watch it because of the artstyle and music of the trailer. The show blown me away, the voice acting, characters, plot, details, scenery are absolutely stunning to say the least. Haven't had a show made me feel like this in a long time, absolutely one of my top favorites.
great vid btw
Hey, just wanted to say thanks for listing the tracks used in the description.
The quality of the sound this series has is beyond limits...I loved it , can t wait for season 2
Just thinking about that scene between vi and powder bring tears to my eyes. I could feel powder's anguish at being a colossal fuck-up.
amazing video brother, very in-depth, very detailed, very good, 9/10 ign
i love your channel, the production, the script and the passion. thank you, NEVER STOP POSTIN!! :D
2:25 , thank you cause I' not an LoL player but I was still able to enjoy it
I think _Arcane: League of Legends_ , if view in the context of all nine episodes so far, sets a standard overall excellence in scripted entertainment we haven't seen in many years. It's arguably better than any TV show or movie released in 2021 in terms of pacing, character development, and flat-out awesome artistic design.
"I don't want to lessen someone else's experience of the ending by unintentionally spoiling something out of context." - Shot of Silco walking by.
I get you man.
He also showed the explosion scene right after saying he wouldn't spoil that
It also merges all the amazing visual flair of some of the best anime with realistic human facial features
It's been a month or so when the last time I've watched arcane, and you brought back those emotions and sensation like I just watched it again
I love your videos! Keep it up!
1:38 - "given one's NOT lack of knowledge"
um, also known as "one's possession of knowledge"
hey man, what somg did you use at 13:00
I watched it and now I'm rewatching every episode and consuming all content until season 2 comes out in 2023.I even have the coloring book.I mean the characters were incredible and then the animation.
If anyone has any shows around this good recommend them to me in the comments.
The comments speak for themselves
I hope that the next upcoming seasons of Arcane would still have that great quality that most of shows that don't have.
0:05 that doesn't mean it's players aren't toxic as hells swamps
I love the video writing. It gives me chills. Nice Job Yatoru, u made my day :D
I knew nothing of LoL before this series. I’m not a gamer. I came into this as a blank slate. Cut to me binging this series, not by choice but by the fact that I just couldn’t put it down. It is, simply, a tour de force and deserves all the kudos and awards.
I cried like a baby when Vi hugged Ekko, and before Arcane, I had no idea of LoLs lore, never played the game.
ARCANCE IS THE the King & Queen of Animated Series😍🤩🎇
“There’s a monster inside all of us.”- silco
I don't play league of legends but when I saw that series it really blowed me🤯🤯
possibly trauma? thats definely rauma brother, jinx is trauma incarnate
I know nothing about the game.
I just watched the show.
Fooking loved it.
Great work 👍
Of the books series keeper of the lost cities was made into a movie and it was animated it would do very well if it was animated like arcane
Didn't know I wud like and respect Vander even more than I do already. (season two will be insane).
Totally almost favourite this video when twice fella. Nice one.
best show ever made and its not even close. More happens in 9 episodes of this than 5 seasons of breaking bad.
I have never played LOL but I am indeed in love with the cinematics and animation. So arcane was a very vert pleasant surprise.
Series of the year*
Agree
Decade?
@@justhaku9240 got and breaking bad are better but if we only talk about animated series i could agree
@@justhaku9240 no, it’s just not long enough yet. Maybe if they keep up he quality for more seasons
Maybe the best first season of all time. Only GoT and maybe Westworld S1 can compete.
Help Jinx fuck Piltover up more than she already did? Lol
How did you capture such high quality video of the show? I guess it will stream in 4K if you're equipment supports it?
I think Powder's reaction to her entire family marching off to possible death after already losing so much was reasonable. Her panic was totally understandable if you're really in her shoes.
What game is 0:24 ?
Great review with fantastic Persona 5 music
Jinx supplants Joker-esk characters like Harley quine, as for joker. really depends on the run but as long as the leto joker is out of the running from the start
When Silco said
“Don’t cry, you’re perfect”
I immediately thought
“I love you 3000”
Him“When Vi starts Fisting people”
Me:PAUSE
The shot at around 18:28 to 18:30. I can't remember it being a part of the series. Did I just miss it or am I stupid rn?
If your talking about the scene of little man and powder that is from the music video that dropped before arcane was released. It's called Enemy by Imagine Dragons ft JID.
thats from the music video of the main song as the other fellow said before bud
oh, Ok, thanks
Watched arcane 2 times already on my third with my friend. It's just so damn good. Beautiful, emotional tense when it wants too. Just incredible
Video is edited amazing!
Masterpiece indeed
11/10 .... I've watched it 5 times since release =P
Great video. U got a sub
yep arcane touches my soul and my heart
I never played LoL and this show completely floored me
Arcane is cutting-edge in every regard.
I’m not sure the world deserves Arcane, but I’m so glad we have it.
sheeeesh rly nice job man
Arcane is by far the best entertainment of 2021... Enjoy, people! Thanks for the video Yatoru
I believe going in blind is probably best. I did. If I had known who was a champion or not, that would certainly take some of the stakes out of the story, because obviously they're not going to kill off a champion, not this soon anyway.
ikr the way you said it
"then w h a t t h e f u c k"
When we get S2 of Arcane Ik exactly who I want to see
"its time to let the monster out"
Love the persona music fits very well
no cap arcane is literally a lesson for twitter ppl
I feel like If champions could be killed in the series...then I believe Jinx and Vi could end up patching up their differences and just except each other’s change...making their opposite personality a magnet way better then Caitlyn x Vi....but I feel like if they still could kill champions either Vi or Jinx would die or both after accepting changes in one another
1:58 I beg your pardon 😂
Don't say! "Powder doing dumb shit . . . " She was a Little girl thrown into a lot of unfortunate situations. She never should have been there , She had been given the worst luck.
The most well made animated feature of the last decade. The combination of 2d and 3d techniques is incredible.
Thank God someone else on this planet realized that jinx a joker origin story and not a Harley Quinn origin story
Give jinx an aeroglider and she green goblin.
@Daniel the Maniel I Highly respect our opinion but that's debatable.
@Daniel the Maniel agreed. And I'm a Joker fan.
I love her..
1:59 ayo?
Why.. What the hell is the point of these videos??
Why are people talking about how new people should go into it while completely spoiling everything about it??
18:12 was fkin beautifull btw! I think my brain stopped working for a while after you said you dont want to spoil it for everyone. THAT WAS HILLARIOUS!
And if its a review.. Then why do you need to explain those scenes as they happened??.. why did you need to explain ep1 from start to finish?? for new people?? why did you tell me that one side is bright and other is not. Do you think i was wearing shades during this show all the time?? Whats the point of treating me like im some dumbass that forgot everything.
I liked your points.. Was there something i didnt get from watching it myself?? No.. Caitlin is a policeman DUH.. VI and Ekko hug was hardfelt coz they didnt see each other for a long time DUH
Is this a good video for people who never saw it before? ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!
NOW listen here boys im not gonna spoil episode 3!! its the best one but let me just tell you a little thing i liked about it.. JINX AND VI!!!! AND HOW IT LED TO THEM PARTING WAYS!!!
What i liked the most about this part is how you put up the most important scenes form it as well.. LIKE what the actual fuck is this wrong with you if its for new people.
I used to fantasize about something like Arcane many years ago, only made by Blizzard and telling a story about StarCraft.
Precisely with this formula: TELLING the story, not just relying on it for simple fan service.
I'm not even mad: thanks to Arcane I started being a bit curious about the lore of Runeterra since all I knew before the show about LOL was... well... nothing. Only that "it existed".
Arcane walked in smiled at the show of the year trophy and took it home for some hot love all night long
To suggest they stole the title is a disservice to Arcane, it's not a positive term like you think.
