Arcane is storytelling with no limitations, so inspiring for all creators.
The potential now has become limitless now for what this studio and their style can achieve.

To be honest, this animation style by fortiche looks like it was created by people who really love their art and take pride in their work.
It wasn't about money. It was about making a masterpiece and they exceeded everyones expectations.
I think they revolutionized the animation industry.
just hope it makes the hacks at bigger studios sit up and take notice.
Money really helped. Riot spent an estimated $100 million on this. That's unheard of for an animated show. Only massive shows like Family Guy cost around that much and much of the cost is for the voice actors. Anime are often made for around $3 million for ~12 20 min episodes.

It's not just a labour of incredible love and dedication though, time and budget, sadly, matter *a lot* and there is very little to go around in animation.
I wouldn't say they revolutionized the meta, but they've definitely left a really deep mark in it, because the production quality is worth every penny and second that was put into it. It's a rare sight to see such craftsmanship
I still can't believe it's a series. Every single episode feels like a movie you watch in a cinema. I've never been astonished like this like I was when watching Spiderman Into The Spider Verse. What a masterpiece! or pieces. hehe
it was technically 3 movies split up in 3 parts each due to time skips
in order for it to not be too jarring and make the viewer lose connection
but yeah the quality is amazing
there are no dead moments
no filler scenes
everything was important, meant something or was great to notice if you had the eye
it's also so well made that there is content for the people that go frame by frame too... throughout the whole series

@@Tomluke5823 I've been an avid watcher of anime since 2006, and I've also watched a ton of older animes from popular studio like Ghibi Studio, Madhouse, Ufotable, Kyoto Animation, etc. But it will never beat Arcane tbh, from story, pacing, art style, although story-wise we can debate on that.
On the other hand, artstyle and the level of facial expression, body language on display in Arcane is just not something that anime can achieve, that I'm pretty sure of. Arcane just conveyed so much with each frame, while anime leave room for confusion in their character expression, but Arcane is just wow, because you can feel exactly the level of emotion they were portraying in the series. So, yeah I love anime, but Arcane is just a cut above the anime, they're not even in the same League.
Spider-man into the spider verse BRUH
It wasn't only the characters, but the environment. They took unique and made it personal. This show was absolutely perfect.
The music and the soundtrack were on another level as well!

I've never played League of Legends or any of Riot's other games, so I walked into this show with no expectations at all, and I was hooked from the start. The art, the animation, and above all, the characters & their stories. Animation can be so subjective and it either works for you or it doesn't. I would have no hesitation recommending this show to anyone I know. The best part is, there _will_ be a Season 2.

I've actually avoided LoL. Simply because the community can be pretty toxic, but I binge watched Arcane as fast as I could, and haven't been able to stop diving further into the universe and lore. This show was so gorgeous, and captivating, and it just felt so real.

This series had some of the best animation I’ve ever seen, awesome styles and really good story. It wasn’t a cliché story but a unique storyline
It had a lot of tropes/cliches, but that's not a bad thing in my opinion. Especially if you pull them off better than 99.99999% of other media.

One of things that stood out to me visually was how the effects like smoke and fire were 2D animated while the characters were done with CG. That's the exact opposite appraoch taken by studios, in particular, anime producers and it gives the series such a unique look. It doesn't always work as well as I'm sure they'd hoped (there's a very good reason its usually done the other way) but overall it looks fantastic.
Yeah I seriously loved that! I dont think I have ever seen that before, and it looks awesome! I especially loved when Vi was eating that SLOP and the orange grease was sliding down her face
@@ZaiDrizzleDrop Haha, that's a great example! I'm rewatching it with a friend and he was saying how impressed he was with the mocap, in particular how well the facial expressions translated. We both about died when I looked it up and discovered that it *wasn't* done with motion capture! That whole series, every subtle facial expression and gesture is all done with key frame animation! This is truly some God tier animation!
@@WillWilsonthesafetyguy theres no mocap, actually. The closest thing to it it they used the VAs faces from when they were recording as references. But no, the whole thing is working with 3d models, with painted 2d overlays (giving everything that watercolour look)
@@bellac6311 Yeah, that's what I was saying! Watching it I was sure it was mocapped; the facial expressions in particular seemed so nuanced. When I looked up how it was made and learned it was all done with key frame I was blown away. There's no part of that series that isn't next level impressive.
@@WillWilsonthesafetyguy No wonder it took six years to make, and such an immense budget. Apparently an animator for the show said it would take them a week to animate four seconds of video. FOUR SECONDS. After watching arcane i dont know if i'll ever be able to look at 3d animation the same agin. Everyone who worked on this show should be hella fuckin proud
I've worked for Disney, Warner Bros and a host of other studios. This is nothing short of astounding. Beautiful, smart and the storyline is solid. What an amazing creative achievement. Everyone involved should super proud of this effort. Bravo!

I'm not a gamer and I'm totally invested in this story and where season 2 goes! The Art is phenomenal but Fortiche Studios was really creating magic with the micro expressions and movement that made these characters come Alive!! #realerthanreallife
the micro face expressions were on point they felt so real
yess!! Plus the way they made it to look like it's being filmed by an actual camera! Many scenes were scenes that you normally see in real movies and not in animation!!

The best one for me was when Powder was crying when she was left behind when Vi and the others went to rescue Vander. It was insanely real

They are not good they are superb!
The amount of swag all of these characters have on the show is what really sold me, also the story and visuals. But just a walk, a look, the tilt of a head, or the they they sit or move...amazing
you know what's mine? when mel used the fountain pen and the tip slightly bent on the paper. had to cuss when i saw that. that was fuckin' flex. This is Fortiche saying, "see that? that's how much we care."

I'd really want to see Fortiche talk about how they make it. They did such a great work, and played such a big part in making the series the masterpiece it is.
They did with French interview notably OTP which is the French esport Broadcast of League of Legend they go to Fortiche and interviewed them
Yea... Having a bunch of CEOs talking about it is kinda meh.
Go check on Artstation, some of their artists dropped some pretty cool stuff there, chara design, storyboards, early drafts. It's not interviews, but it's a good insight into the work they've done.
@@badoli1074 Fortiche was not long ago a small company. The CEO are the artists who spearheaded the visual style in the early 2000s (thinking about Jerome Combe in particular).

Or when studios aren't bound by higher ups that only care about cash and have no respect from the craft; we only get stuff like Spiderverse and Arcane from western animation instead of Minions when the team actually have the freedom to tell the story.
I cant believe that this studio has never made anything this long and yet they blew it out of the water. Same with the voice actors, a ton of these people have never done more than a few video game lines and yet they can convey raw emotion and really sell the connections. EDIT: season 2 confirmed btw

I've never even played LoL and I was blown away by this show, can only imagine how diehard fans felt about it. Beautiful, exciting, emotional, tragic.. everything at once

I've been playing league since 2015 and I mained jinx so the pure utter JOY of arcane coming out was wild n exciting! Finally getting that deeper lore was everything!!
This show was absolutely INCREDIBLE in every single way. The animations, music, writing, pacing and voice actors were all perfect. This is how you make quality entertainment! Well done to the team behind Arcane and I can't wait to see what else they have planned!
The best thing in the story, for me, was the complexity. No one was only bad or only good. Such refreshing feeling in the current (mainly Hollywood) cinematography full of black and white (super)heroes!
Exactly this. Almost all of the major productions in modern times are so bland, full of lazy tropes and one dimensional characters.
I suspect this is the product of generations conditioned to support their flag and army no matter what. They don't like to think that the "antagonist" may also have a valid cause to fight for, and "heroes" also have their own personal and selfish motivations
Honestly.. the amount of depth and character development they managed to achieve in so little time was amazing. And then.. a story line you couldnt imediatly predict with characters that dont just act stupidly.. been a while since I seen that in modern cinema

Glad they chose the animation studio they did because its easily some of the best 3D animation ive seen especially for the art style theyve chosen , the facial animation is on point they really capture the emotion from the amazing voice acting
This show deserves the success it got. Fortiche Productions did an astonishing job! Can't wait for season 2 which was confirmed yesterday.
this was the most insane visual storytelling at work i have ever witnessed, which proves that hyperrealistic ( when characters start to look real with a plastic look )3d animation is not needed. But storytelling is key and the flow of storytelling is the answer to make the animation come to life, this thing is so well done that if you pause on the show during a scene, the charters have facial emotion , that's just epic
I think Arcane is one of the best examples one can use to show how much good id does to let artists do their job.
There are so many stylized and "weird" scenes in the show that make it so unique and interesting. I just love it. Without them the series would'nt be nearly as good
I didn't even know it was a game, it completely stands on its own as a true work of art. You can tell that a lot of love, care and time went into this in every way possible - characters, scenes, story telling, etc. Fantastic 👍✌️
How could you not know the game name is in the title and league is one of the most well known online games in the business
they've been working on it for 6 years. Also as they said, league's world is something else. The story told in Arcane is just the beginning, there are much more stories to be told. Very excited for it.

I can honestly say this is the best thing I have ever watched. The animations, music, voices, characters and the story. My mind is blown and my heart is broken.

This show was an incredibly delicate balance of genius in every single aspect of it. From the tiniest speck of dust at the right time, to the biggest, flashiest fights. The naturality of every movement, the often unnoticed accuracy and consistency of gravity, the camera work, the deep and complex personalities, the sympathy element to every character no matter their side, the natural and relatable reactions to events or circumstances, the voices, the facial expressions, everything that happens on every single frame outside of the point of focus.
This is the result of a hive mind of genius working in perfect concert with each other. You don't need to play league to see that this is a masterpiece. Well done!

I passed this show off as a fantasy/LoL clone wars but this show breaks so many expectations. I'm excited not even for more arcane but for who this show inspires down the road.

It's hard to put to words how impressed I am with everyone who was behind this. This show is certainly a masterpiece and I might go as far to say that its flawless. The animation, world building, and incredibly dynamic characters made for an experience that was hard to say goodbye to once I had finished. I look forward to any other animation projects that may come about as a result of Arcane's success.

This is one of the first shows where everything from the art style, to the whole story line I was completely astonished by. I had expections of the story line to go one way and it went to a whole nother direction. This whole show had me on my toes just waiting for what would come next. Even the expressions of the characters were to detailed and so realistic to what a actual person would do. Everything was so amazing.
This show is an absolute masterpiece. All the important elements are there. Storytelling, animation, character development. It felt so real and raw. Definitely transcended any experience I've had with an animated show.... it's just simply perfection.
I think the magic of the show is executing these characters so well, doing multiple of them AND weaving it all together in a bigger conflict of piltover v zaun. It keeps the focus on the humanity of these characters as well.
Not only that, but Piltover, Zaun....and Noxus are all characters in thier own right. Its like they have thier own compelling stoy...then we can at any time just zoom in on anyone and find they too are just as interesting.
For me, this series is definitely on top list of movies that I could watch for eternity without getting bored. Every character and story, the transaction between the action scenes, the way they picture the psychological impact, everything is stunning, amaising, and very carefully done. It realy shows how much effort they've put in everything, from the art to the story to the soundtrack. No other show made me feel this way and it definitely had a long term positive impact on me. I can't wait for season 2, hope they continue their hard work
I was amazed by how little it relied on dialogue. Visual story telling was incredible.
Every song was tied to the story and the scene on screen, from "dear friend across the river" (girl asking the other side for reconciliation) to "I'm the monster you created" (same girl declaring war against them).
I know little to nothing about this game(s), but wow. This might be the best thing since Queens Gambit on Netflix. Totally blew me away.
This is probably the greatest animated series I had a privilege to witness, outstanding craftsmanship
Even though I stopped playing league some years ago, I still remember when Riot actually started expanding on the lore and I never stopped being into it. It turned out amazing, and the people who do visuals and sound now are just out of this world. Arcane was the highlight of the year for me, thank you rito.
This show felt like real story about real persons living in real places, i can't thank creator team enough to make me in love with this characters, they will always have a warm spot in my hearth

Arcane is an absolutely phenomenal piece of art. I could watch this all day everyday if there were enough episodes and seasons. I’m in love with it, and I’ve never even played or been interested in League of Legends.

It's awesome to see how much Riot is thrilled with the work of Fortiche. It's also worth giving a ton of credit to August Browning, Principle Champion Designer at Riot, who is the original creator of Vi, Jinx, and Ekko. Through his champions he laid the foundation of the story we have today.
He also made Jhin, who we know ended up in Piltover when he clashed with Camille, so maybe he'll show up in the series as well.
I've never played League and to be honest, I probably never will as its not my thing but THIS SERIES.. Best thing on Netflix. Nothing else comes close and season 2 can't come soon enough.

I started watching Arcane because of the art style and music. The characters, plot, dialogue, scenery, details, absolutely blown me away. I never knew such raw emotion could be captured in animation. Definitely one of my favorites, haven’t had a show stun me like this in years, absolutely beautiful.
Any single frame of this was a masterpiece. It blows my mind that it was animated.

Arcane made me want to try again and pursue my dream as animator/character designer/storyteller.
I kind of gave up on that because depression made me lose motivation and drawing suddenly felt like a task I couldn’t enjoy anymore like I used to. But after watching Arcane… I feel like that is what would make me happy. Creating stories, characters and making art.
I’d be so happy if people would enjoy and get inspired by my ideas like I enjoyed Arcane.
I have yet to see anyone say something negetive about Arcane and I can´t think of anything that is negetive about it, I AM I IN LOVE!!! please make the next 50 years of my life filled with storys from Rune Terra at this level of quality hands down the BEST show in history !
This is the best piece of western animation of the last decade, hands down.
They set the bar very very high now. both western and japanese Studios will now have to compete with this standard, now that everyone knows what 3D animation is capable of.
I’m not a gamer and don’t know anything about LofL. But this series is the most beautiful, amazing, creative things I’ve ever seen (right alongside Spiderman/Multiverse). Story, character development, animation, artwork, music, directing - you could literally not have nailed it any harder. I fell like I could take any frame from anywhere in the whole series, print it off, and hang it on my wall as a masterpiece - and animated along with all the other elements of flawless storytelling, this was just top notch. Awesome! Well done. Do more.

Arcane is the perfect example of what happens when people are doing something they genuinely love and care about. You can tell how much effort and work they put into the series and it's fucking incredible
What you all created was magic. Something entirely unique. It’s beyond beautiful, and when I try to describe it to people, I don’t even have the words, I just beg them to do themselves a huge favour and watch, because such art needs to be seen and appreciated 😭✨
The song ‘Enemy’ is perfection. Raw vibes from the singer’s voice and the lyrics = 👌💕 Also gotta mention how much of a banger ‘Dynasties and Dystopia’ is. Listen to it every day now since watching the series!
Credit where credit is due - everyone involved in this gave it their 110%. No one settled for mediocrity... This is how you make a masterpiece.
New Gold Standard for Anime.
Amazing show. I never seen this quality animation ever. It was better than actual acting. Attention to details of minutest emotions / body language were never seen before. Whoever created, drew & voiced Jinx should get deserving recognition, and so are other creators.
Very much interested in knowing more of the makings and real geniuses behind this art perfection...

Arcane has returned my love for league and inspired me to continue working hard towards my career path even though I’m in a really dark place right now
The way they’ve showed the complexity and beauty of all characters (especially Jinx for me) has helped me relate to them and get through things
but mostly I see and value all the love and hard work that has been put into these series, it’s wonderful and truly inspiring
(just to put things into perspective, I usually barely even draw and hardly find motivation to but after beginning to watch this I’ve been drawing and WANTING to draw every single day and it feels awesome)

I’ve been getting into art and storytelling as my hobby over the last year and half-ish.
I tried animation but I learned I just feel so passionate about WATCHING it and appreciating it, rather than actually making it. But I still have true passion for art and illustration though.
Same goes for storytelling and writing. I love characters and every single thing that comes packaged with them. I’ve been brainstorming characters for a bit and studying a ton of films and anime and stuff.
So I’ve decided the best thing for me would probably be like visual novels or comics/manga. I’m going to start making my own stories and characters and worlds and all that good stuff, made visualized with my own art styles. And I could add more flavor with music or mmmmm and voice acting.
This show was a HUGE, and I mean just HUUGGGEEE inspiration. It goes without saying how passionately crafted this show was in ever aspect, from art to animation to characters to plot/story to dialogue and just EVERYTHING.

This animation cinematography and raw quality is better than any live action I've seen from the mcu and dc combined. Don't even get me started on the amazing use of music. Just perfect. And I've never even played the game

Loved all the characters in this show, I never felt truly resentful to any of them because I could understand where they came from. The writing and world building is great and the visuals are stunning.

I never thought I would be so much in awe about an animation series/movie, but this was truly amazing! I cannot find a flaw, can't wait for next season!
I loved the animation of this series it was utterly flawless, I loved how the smoke looked 2D compared to the characters and setting. It is such a great storyline and has so many unique characters with their own problems, the way they drew their emotions and facial features was awesome. I especially loved the music it fits so well with each scene!
Every single person that worked on Arcane (from janitor to CEO) you should all be damn proud of what you contributed to this amazing work of art.
After 30 seconds of the first episode I was already blown away by the animation quality and cinematography. Everything about this show was incredible

My cousin (a LoL fan) made me (no idea how to hold a controller, animation student) watch Arcane. And for me it is truly up there with avatar: the legend of Aang and Into the spiderverse in terms of Next Level western animation. This series is truly a masterpiece and shows the love of the artists and writers and creators in every shot.
I've never played league of legends but i found the series amazing and couldn't stop watching, I watched almost every episodes on one day and finished the last one this morning Im obsessed, I even already talked about it to my family and friends I love everything about it, can't wait for season 2!
I did my internship at Fortiche about 6 years ago and even back then I knew they would go only uphill . They deserve all the love and recognition
I've never played or even seen the game, but my son introduced me to this show this week and I was totally blown away! From the first scene, the artwork amazed me and the story line was just as good. We're waiting for season 2!
It felt like I was watching painted art that was alive. Every scene could be a wallpaper, that’s how flawless it was. The facial expressions, in particular, were mesmerizing
i swear this is the only show that actually takes me OUT of the story bcos the animation is just soooo good! had to rewind a fair bit to get thru each scenes.
This show has left me speechless during every episode, utterly speechless. The artwork is beyond comprehension. The music MOVES me. I have to watch this over and over. It’s breathtaking.

Easily one of the best animated series I’ve ever seen! I remember when the jinx mv first came out how badly I wanted a series. I’m so excited for the next season and hopefully we’ll get more interviews! I’d love to see in depth walk throughs of the animation/storyboard process! 🤞
Arcane, was INCREDIBLE!!!! It ranks up there, as one of the beat anime, I've seen.
