When I first saw Whisper, I thought of Quiet from MGSV because she's a sniper that has little to no dialogue, but the Sniper Wolf comparison makes so much more sense. I didn't realize Slinger was an Ocelot so there's are Revolver Ocelot reference, Mimic is obviously supposed to be Decoy Octopus, the FOXHOUND member that didn't get a boss fight in MGS1, Claire Voyance is a psychic which i guess is enough to be Psycho Mantis (if only she had psychokinesis as well), Smithy can be seen as either Vulcan Raven or Heavy from TF2 with that gattling gun, Diamond Cutters could be a reference to Diamond Dogs, and in Issue 23 of the main IDW run, Eggman and Starline are seen trying to control the zombots through short-wave radio frequencies and one of the frequencies that the two try is 141.12, that's Otacon's Codec number throughout the entire Metal Gear Saga. Sega's showing more love for Metal Gear through these small Easter egg than Konami is right now.
I prefer that when claire voyange, slinger and smithy were sealed in that room with the shadow Androids, team dark was there to destroy those pieces of junk with chaos spears(shadow) heart bombs(rouge) and heavy weaponry(Omega)
I REALLY prefer that scenario than that thrash. Someone writes to miss Stanley on this. I prefer that the diamond cutters are alive not dead, i REAAAALLY want the team to be alive and not dead.
It's really cool how the Diamond Cutters were referencing FOXHOUND. The other two fit that as well. Smithy resembles Vulcan Raven, being a huge and intelligent guy armed with a Gatling gun-like weapon. His bio describes his cloak as Raven Black. Claire Voyance references Psycho Mantis, both being the psychic member of their respective groups. Her bio also notes that her weapon is named Mantis.
I read somewhere that supposedly Claire Voyance was actually supposed to be a Mantis instead of a Howler Monkey but SEGA vetoed it. Which I can understand.
PS:I'm not shocked, if appeared members from Task Force 282, where Dutch "Gadget" McTalsa, Captain Jonny Pay,Seymour "Banshee" Raul, Kayn "Gantz" Derek and Garrick "Teach" Sanders, is a members from Task Force 141 from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.
Ok about Mimic's mouth. Artist Evan Stanley stated on her tumblr that those markings on Mimic's face are his own doing (using his shapeshifting ability). He apparently thinks they make him look scarier.
So this was much better than what the main Book has to offer but while Character writing is good and all do I have one massiv problem. You see this story would be fine if it would stand on its own but it does not it existed in the same world that Main book takes place as well as a world in which Sonic Forces happened. These 2 factors together create a big issue namely that Eggman's actions and by extension the story it self makes very little sense. You see for the flashback to the past do we deal with the issue that Eggman really wouldn't have made a deal with anybody because during forces did he really not need to if the Diamond cutters really did annoy him this much would he simply send Infinite over and he would have made short process with them because lets be real here Infinite was really really powerful because he has such massiv energy sources like the Death Egg powering him. And this issue does carry over into the future this story has to happen after the Battle for Angle Island which in turn means that Eggman is at this point in the timeline already spreading the Metal Virus (keep in mind he did start production/development of it right after he was back to being Eggman) so why would he still make any deals with Mimic when he has a world consuming Virus and a Chaos emerald powered Face ship under his belt (this is getting especially problematic when we remember when this story happened according to Cream's maps in the main book). So really the base of the story is pretty weak. Well at least its not anywhere near as glaring as it is in the main book.
Did you notice, that infinite is never mentioned in this comic. I think they cut him out because of his backstory (NOTWEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAK!!!!!!!!!!!).
@@ls_rus4666 I personally thing its properly more along the lines of there aren't allow to use him (why else would Sumo have chosen Zavok over Infinite if it wasn't that he isn't allowed to be used?) I mean yes Shadow just murdering his Team isn't all that nice but there pretty much did the same thing to Wispers team here so I hardly believe that his backstory is the reason here. This ignoring of him regardless of reason is obviously a problem because well Wispers story would be pretty impossible with Infinite around and Forces plot would also be impossible without him and yet does the Comic tells us that both have happened. Also is it just me or is Wisper all things considered an Anti-Infinite? Both lost there team tragically. Both were the sole survives. Both Team's were for hire. Both became far stronger after there Team dies But one is evil and tries to cast his past away but there other one is Good and is all out for vengeance.
@@rynobehnke8289 I agree, but I think they allowed to use zavok but not infinite because of game's backlash. It is common that something is never expanded upon because of hate from fans.

I read somewhere that supposedly Claire Voyance was actually supposed to be a Mantis instead of a Howler Monkey but SEGA vetoed it. Which I can understand.

Mimic shapeshift his own face to make himself more scary
. Confirmed in a twitter of Evan Stanley
😢
Honeycomb
Ok about Mimic's mouth. Artist Evan Stanley stated on her tumblr that those markings on Mimic's face are his own doing (using his shapeshifting ability). He apparently thinks they make him look scarier.
THAT makes more sense. I admit, that was pretty clever of Evan.
Great video!

@@ls_rus4666 I personally thing its properly more along the lines of there aren't allow to use him (why else would Sumo have chosen Zavok over Infinite if it wasn't that he isn't allowed to be used?)
I mean yes Shadow just murdering his Team isn't all that nice but there pretty much did the same thing to Wispers team here so I hardly believe that his backstory is the reason here.
Both became far stronger after there Team dies
But one is evil and tries to cast his past away but there other one is Good and is all out for vengeance.
@@rynobehnke8289 I agree, but I think they allowed to use zavok but not infinite because of game's backlash. It is common that something is never expanded upon because of hate from fans.
@@ls_rus4666 I actually thing its because Infinite is supposedly dead after Eggman recalled him in Forces because Sega always bans the usage of Dead Characters (like Emerl or Black Doom)
@@rynobehnke8289 think*
And yeah, that is SEGA for ya. "F**king s**t up since 2006!"
