I built an F-16 from scratch out of Burch plywood many years ago. I sold it to a friend and then bought a pre-built wooden cockpit. That one worked great for a while. Then I got the opportunity to buy an actually familiarization trainer tub from Wright Patterson AFB. It cost quite a bit and it can only fit in my garage, but it was well worth it. Keep up the good work.

Such a complete shame that this is not available to purchase as a kit. I’m looking at some pretty expensive prebuilt options, but I certainly would like to have different method of doing this. I just don’t have the time or the tools to do it myself.

I am in equal measure both delighted for you and seething with envy. Just so I can try to manage my anticipation for each successive episode in this series, is it every second Tuesday that you plan to put out an episode or simply any Tuesday as and when you have content ready? Haha thanks mate! 😃😃 at this stage it’s every 2nd Tuesday It gives me time to create some sort of watchable content 😂 if anything changes to that schedule I’ll keep you posted 🫡
Awesome! Just out of curiosity, how much were you getting quoted? Based out of NSW and dreading the CNC cost. Not necessarily after the side wall pieces but curious.
Hey mate, I was very fortunate and my friend cut it for me :) The company’s on the Gold Coast that quoted said around $2500 for side consoles, and similar for the centre hub and UIP/LIP But I also think that’s got a bit of Christmas tax added to it, and they didn’t want to do the job because of work load So I’d check around and keep me updated how you go :)
Nice one! I like the Wagner unit, it’s actually quite affordable! Some tips for when you’re doing this for real: wear PPE.
