Folks! I got TOO1 and TOO2 to work fine in the next mission. I think it was a bug that didn't allow me to do it in this video. Also, if you would like access to the mission file, consider supporting me on Patreon which will gain you access to my mission files along with a list of necessary mods to run them :) www.patreon.com/command_t
Hey man i just subbed today after watching your NOR platform video, is the non mission editor map u showed on the start of the vid a mission builder thing for dcs? Or is it just a map? Would really love to know Also love your vids, they are really underrated ngl the quality is insane
Subscribed after 60 seconds. This guy talks more logic, strategy each minute than most channels do per video. And he cares about realism in a good way, not an annoying way.... and he is down to earth and approachable, which to me puts him ahead of people like "crudnokker".
Nice video. I also wanted to note, you cant “notch” against a ground based radar. What you did was make the missile path longer by putting the launcher on your 3-9 line. Only a small detail.
You still kind of can, depends on the radar. Might not be a pure notch, but if you're not just beaming the missile and instead the radar indeed loses its lock, calling it notching isn't exactly wrong
Hey boss great video! One suggestion for the HARM shot; try and use SP mode or TOO mode. Like you said, since we aren't worried about max ranging our shot, the direct profile from from these two modes may serve better at such close range. Cheers!
It's hard to do in the real world given the constraints of enemy assets. You can watch how it actually worked out for real here: ua-cam.com/video/aSgVW84AUtY/v-deo.html
I really appreciate your attention to detail. The mission you have planned is pretty challenging as it is, but have you thought about adding some intelligence to the SAM site with SkynetIADS or MooseScript etc? That way you can really put the decoys and the harms to the test. With Skynet enabled and setup, those radars should should shutdown if they detect the harms or maybe not, if they are too busy with the decoys. Just a thought, would be interesting to see.
Thanks, yes. This has crossed my mind. However the way I've set the mission up is that SAMs only "go live" when you are well within the kill range, with a few other EW radars scattered around to simulate a layered air defence. So you can't shoot any HARMs from far away effectively. But yes, you're probably right about using Skynet. I remember reading about it before and having some doubts about performance implications. I might revisit this topic again soon :)
It'll be a bit pointless unfortunately as my controls set up and seating position is completely different to anybody else. I'm afraid it just won' help.
That is what Space Force/Strategic Reconnaissance assets are for. It's why Ukraine is winning and Russia is crumbling. They know exactly where to send their assets to take out Russian assets. It comes about from the issues we had with SCUD hunting in the first Gulf War. Now AI presents areas of interest to real eyeballs, who make a decision as to what it is and what to do about it. Like how AI combs through META data from internet activity to find foreign and domestic threats. Signals Intelligence and SRO are very much blended these days.
@@koc988 not oposing that, but its a trivial task when you are handed out this info, missing challenge in that. Used to find everything by tgp only when flying f18 and especialy in live multiplayer environment you are not handed the coordinates.
@@TheTryzna You should have prefaced your statement with that point, that you were talking about the in game, entertainment characteristics of DCS, the Dungeons and Dragons aspect. IRL is what Ko C and I are on about. No ingress would be made without intel and planning for any kind of tactical strike mission, ever. In warfare you never wander into enemy held territory and not know the location of every major installation and formation, ahead of time. In today's battle spaces, NATO knows where everything is, they can even see MANPADS resting on the shoulders of infantry troops, synthetic radars are that good.
If you watch my upcoming SA-10 strike using these tactics working as a 2-ship behind enemy lines in a high threat environment, I think you might change your mind about this being too easy :) (it's too easy in the middle of the Nevada desert, I agree)
My guess is they are too small, and by the time they get released then it's already too late most of the time. Also there's no heat signature so nothing based on IR signature guidance can get them.
The way you'd do this is glide bomb small diameter bomb saturation. Real life sa10 no launch warning, just search radar, smokeless basically as too far to see smoke. Chaff does nothing to them either

Going perpendicular to them works against Sa6, sa5, you drop the lock because pulse Doppler

Hey, yes, I used TOO in the actual mission when we flew it, here: ua-cam.com/video/aSgVW84AUtY/v-deo.html
I've seen Mavericks/JSOWs/AGM84s even being shot down. I think lofting JDAMs from behind cover/ from low alt is the best way to guarantee a hit.
Yes indeed!
I just started the Black Sea campaign on Liberation. There are quite a few S300 sites that I will be using these tactics on
Super cool mission... looking forward to play the real one
The real one is up :) Watch it here: ua-cam.com/video/aSgVW84AUtY/v-deo.html
Great vid. Just one suggestion. Try bringing the two attacking aircraft from opposing angles.

Can you do a setting videos with ur f18 axis tune controls and ur track ir setting please

@13:57 was going to say something but...LOL
Yes the TOO issue is because it's on the same pylon
What MOD is that at the beginning that you used to look at the waypoints? Around 1:48 in the video.
It’s CombatFlight. You can open up any miz file in it :)
Did you create the mission with CombatFlight or in mission editor then import it ?
With mission editor and imported it
What is that map view in the beginning?
CombatFlite
Well executed, but knowing coordinates of the samsite beforehand makes it too easy. Cant wait for the next video!;-)

SA-10's are not small assets at all. Their whereabouts would be known by any ground mapping ISR before hand. Stuff like Jstars and Rivet Joint

The S-300 in DCS is pleb, so to say, it doesn't track and engage multiple targets from different directions, etc.
And it had Launch Warnings
Why is jdams immune to anti air is their form stealthy or is it not modeled properly?

How do you know chaff does nothing out of curiosity?
Regarding launch tone, yes that seems like it may or may not be true.
