I got a Clipper without ranking up with the Empire. Few years ago, they were celebrating an anniversary or something and the Achenar system was opened and you didn't need the ranks to buy ships. They were also discounted. Bought the Clipper for like 15-17 mil and also kept the permit to Achenar. Best deal ever

Don't forget the Sothis-Ceos run. Pretty much every station has fed missions and they always go back and forth between the two. Total of 6 or 7 stations between the two systems
Remember when blizzard told the people who were asking for classic WoW; “Classic was HARD, you think you want it, but you don’t” ? . . . .don’t tell your players what they want. ASK them what they want, ignore and dismiss them at your own peril Fdev!
And as a bonus you can buy a lot, if not all the fit for ships, along with the ships as well right at this station. Federal Dropship, Federal Assault Ship and Federal Gunship are available here for purchase.
I literally just finished these grinds, now I’m on the engineer grinds. Empire was quick with the courier out at Hickman survey, but the fed rank grind took like 30 hours of cargo/data missions in a python out at sothis/ceos. Plus I had a progress stopping odyssey bug that prevented me from ranking up and gaining any rep with fed for two days until I logged over into horizons and did a federal navy mission. The navy missions in odyssey wouldn’t rank me up and after my first one I stopped gaining all rep as well regardless of how many missions I did.
I just did the last three ranks of the Fed grind, and the last mission was a Navy mission to find some salvage. I had just accepted it and was about to launch, and that bloody white message appeared that the server was shutting down in 5 minutes lol. I nearly have a Corvette! 🤯
My biggest problem with Frontier is that they took a dump on all VR users by not developing VR any further. Many having spent thousands on VR, HOTAS with custom cockpits. Frontier lead on users that VR would come to Odyssey just not at launch, I would not bought Odyssey if I knew they were dropping further devolvement.

At least with ship based engineering it prepares you for Thargoid combat. On foot engineering??? PVP only pretty much because with grade 3 gear I'm soloing high intensity conflict zones after deliberately letting my side all die off and me being the last one standing.

Now that you made this there will be a CG in the next few weeks adding orbital stations to all mentioned systems on their furthest away planets just so Fdev can continue to force maximum pain and boredom in the grinds of the respective factions.
The Canopus region may be good but unless you want to travel 42k light years to the station and back You're better off avoiding it and doing anything else in any system like bounty hunting missions or transport missions in the bubble
I generally dont mind grind as long as i can see some kind of progress. Like a percentage bar filling. The superpowers…. Random as hell. It took forever to rank up feds at all. The imps? The freaking advancement missions just wouldn’t spawn.
I have found that the stations around Lembava are great for Fed missions. A ton of factions in a tight group of stars, with medium sized stations close to their stars.
The best part of Odyssey release has been Yamiks video's, I uninstalled it last night, the patch just made it worse on my system the only shame is I wish Yamiks could get the $40 because his content is more entertaining than the game is.
I did Sothis Ceos a few weeks ago, the other one was trash then... I mean this grind is trash either way. Oh wait! It's only a grind if you make it one!
But if it's not a grind... It. Takes. Ages Doing ranks the 'recommended' way, by doing missions anywhere and everywhere, it could take hundreds of hours of gameplay to reach that Vette or cutter

these courier jobs with no ++ rep give less than 1% once you progress trough the federation ranks, re +++++ give 2-3%, not really sure couriering around is the best way, you probably need 2 missions per 1% one mission if you get a ++ or +++ rep
Your vids have helped me a lot in this CF of a game, but I still should've done my due diligence...because I went out to Mainani and Ngalinn in a Federal Corvette only to learn that neither system has a station with a Large landing pad. ;_;

I found a nice system with 6/7 minor factions offering either kill X number of pirates in ABC zone or kill "random named pirate" in ABC zone. Stack 20 of the REP+++++ missions and go kill every pirate in ABC zone. If you have five "kill 10 pirates" Missions from five different factions a single kill counts to each Missions. Start grinding the low level novice spawns, let the named npcs attack you, and stack all the kills across all the minor factions. Buy a KWS and bind it to your beam lazer trigger for extra pay outs. Collect engineering mats. Combat kills help towards combat elite. 3 birds, one stone.
Tryed getting fed rank with only combat missions assassinate or massacre because i enjoy combat the most got a half engeneered python so a medium CZ is not a problem but the game is made in such a way that you cant do what you like after a 100 hours i bearly got the sol permit and started to get really bored with combat and ended doing Ceos/Sothis runs and after 20 hours i was at rear admiral :/
Been grinding Canopus - Exphiay for the past week all the way up until Rank 11 (100%) and then for some reason, the rank up mission does not spawn in any of those 3 stations no matter how many more missions I've completed FFS is the gaming actually glitched or is Frontier deliberately trolling me, not letting me get the Corvette
Does taking reputation reward over money and Mats give you more progress towards next rank when you are already 100% allied with major and minor faction?
Fuck I love Alliance for not requiring grind to get the space frogs and the riced space brick, one day I will grind for Vette and Cutter but I really don't have time.
There is one easy way around it tho It's called "Elite NOT so Dangerous". Edit: You still have to grind, there is now way around that. "Not dangerous" only makes it easier.

My Problem at the Moment is, it dont rank up automaticly even after 100x follow Missions from Petty Officer to Chief Petty Officer 😒 im rly Shure its a very big Bug 🙄😐
The Ceos-Sothis rank grind isn't too bad if you use a ship with a lot of cabins like the Python or Beluga and always pick missions that give Rep+ rewards. When I did runs I'd do a few at one of the three Ceos stations, then move on to another once it's low on missions.
Robigo-Sothis grind for Imp rep isn't as good since it gets low on missions after a few runs, but if you're credit farming there you may as well prioritize the slaver filth _I MEAN HONORABLE GUESTS_ while filling seats.
I did "ranking missions", courier jobs in Ochosi to Chapka it took me a full week in order to get the Rear Admiral rank. The only thing that helped the grind was The Pilot's review on the infamous Corvette and of course Yamiks as well. I play on console so ok I though Odyssey wil release later this year but after hearing that Fdevs aren't planing on ships interior because it would be boring gameplay, nope f**k that game uninstalled and a week wasted. I legit did this 2 days ago to get the fed corvette, it took me like 12-15 hours of continually doing missions :/

42,000+ Ls to Rangarajan's Base. Ugh.
The Ceos-Sothis rank grind isn't too bad if you use a ship with a lot of cabins like the Python or Beluga and always pick missions that give Rep+ rewards.
When I did runs I'd do a few at one of the three Ceos stations, then move on to another once it's low on missions.
Robigo-Sothis grind for Imp rep isn't as good since it gets low on missions after a few runs, but if you're credit farming there you may as well prioritize the slaver filth _I MEAN HONORABLE GUESTS_ while filling seats.
God those voices made me cringe SO hard
I did "ranking missions", courier jobs in Ochosi to Chapka it took me a full week in order to get the Rear Admiral rank. The only thing that helped the grind was The Pilot's review on the infamous Corvette and of course Yamiks as well. I play on console so ok I though Odyssey wil release later this year but after hearing that Fdevs aren't planing on ships interior because it would be boring gameplay, nope f**k that game uninstalled and a week wasted.
