    What did he expect ? He was screwing into wood without pilot holes. An better test would be drill a hundred pilot holes. And see how many the screws then drivers could put in as well as remove. I’m thinking the dewalt with 8v. Will do more

    Nice review! I like the gyro screwdriver, though.

    For a homeowner that needs an all purpose screw gun and drill, neither of these tools are right for the job. The DeWALT tool is not a screw gun, it is a screwdriver. That is its only purpose. If you are an electrician, you would use a screw gun to install wood screws into plywood. Then you would switch to the screwdriver to install machine screws to mount an outlet into a box.
    My dad told me a long time ago, that you have to know when you need to use a hammer, and when to use a jeweler's screwdriver. One tool uses brute force, and the other a delicate touch. The gyroscopic function of the DeWALT allows very precise control of the screwdriver. It should not be used to install wood screws, and so your comment about a worn out wrist should not apply to the proper use of this tool. A triggered tool should be used if you are going to constantly push the max torque of the tool. And a minimum of a 12 volt tool is what has been standard for over 25 years for a screw gun, and most brands sell 18 and 20 volt for this purpose.
    This review only showed the longevity of the two tools when pushed to the max. It did not compare the features of the tools based on the tasks that they were designed to perform. I appreciate the effort, but if you are reviewing a tool, then you have to show performance based on proper intent of the tool. I have owned and used DeWALT tools for professional use going all the way back to when they were Black and Decker commercial tools. I have also owned the current Black and Decker consumer tools, which are designed for homeowner use. They may both appear to perform similar, but over the long run, the DeWALT tools will win EVERY time, if used for the correct application.

    I got a B&D Roto-Bit 4V for $7 during prime day and I wasn't expecting a lot from it and I'm surprised, it's pretty good and for unscrewing and screwing pre-drilled holes it last a lot, over 100 2" screws and no signs of low battery, I liked it so much I just ordered a Hex drill bit chunk from China to use it to drill hard to reach zones.

    For the price of the DeWalt + an extra battery, just buy 2 B&D drivers and have one on charge while using the other. B&D wins.
    (Same company anyway, B&D acquired DeWalt in 1960, now 'STANLEY BLACK & DECKER' company)

    yeah you're talkin about a 8 volt vs 4 volts it's going to be much different as far as that but you're talking about a $37 or $30 yeah $30 screwdriver versus a 70 or $80 screwdriver is going to be a big difference

    I Have A Ryobi Cordless 4 Volt
    Screwdriver. What I Like About It
    Is The Removable Battery. I Can
    Remove The Dead Battery & Put In
    A Fully Charged Battery While
    The Dead Battery Is On Charge.
    I Never Did Like Cordless Powertools
    With Non Removable Batterys.

    I think you would have found that it has a heat protector that allows you to cool the screwdriver off before damage is done which is a plus. I have burned up tools that do not have this feature. Let me know please.

    If you want to drive screws buy a 110 volt corded model. This is for 90 percent of what people do around the house or model cars, computers etc. Don't buy it to build a deck. Its a screwdriver.

    Now change the battery in the dewalt. Once the battery goes completely useless on the dewalt, you can use another battery. Not the case with the b&d. I once had a b&d firestorm kit. It kicked butt for a year. After that, not so much. Same with the porter cable kit I bought just after that (I wasn’t in my trade at that time, and the batteries just stopped charging after not using them frequently.) Then I bought another pc kit. No initial power. My dad made me feel low while I was working on his water heater. I just stick with dewalt and Milwaukee now. A little ryobi here and there.

    I have a drill for when I need to drill. These things are not made to drill into new untapped holes. They are made to put things together and take them apart, or remove a screw and replace it after one has already been properly placed. Your testing is invalid as you used them in a job for which they are not suited.

    Call me late to the part but thats okay I'm here.... first off your comparing a 4v to an 8v... big difference. Second I'm a little skeptical that on most of the B&D screws most of each screw clip has been cut out of video (which I can kinda understand due to saving time) however most of the screws when clip cuts back in shows the screw like 95% completed.... whereas the dewalt screws no as much editing was done. Finally there is no one in their right mind that would think about using a 4v or even an 8v drill to drive 3" deck screws as everyone who knows of deck screws and the proper application for them would grab an 18v to 20v driver... your review is completely void in my option..... these are more for as you said in the beginning hanging pictures minors and small tasks around the house not building a deck... the can also be used for electrical work. I will tell you I am and have always been a dewalt man through and through since I was 12 years old (now 31) I've been in construction since I was 15 years old and have only owned dewalt power tools. I still own my very first drill and impact driver and both still work to this very day. They are now shop tools but they still work. Dewalt out performs Black and decker hands down any day of the week and twice on Sunday my friend! Dewalt runs circles around Black and Decker. But what do I know.... I'm just the guy who rolls up to a jobsite and pulls out packout tools boxes filled with dewalt tools! 🤣

    These tools are not designed to drive 3” screws. Ever heard the saying”use the right tool for the right job”. So for 3” screws use a 12vt or 20vt drill driver

      @thehomediy6204  2 роки тому

      First Jon thank you for watching. Secondly there are lots of times where you don’t have either the money or the time to get the right tool. If the tool is handy use it that’s my belief.

      Plus this was a vs between them. Why would you do screws or a task that you know both can handle? That’s not a vs then.

    Looks like the DEWALT DCF682N1 is spec'ed for a max of 24 in/lbs of torque while the Black+Decker BDCS40BI is spec'ed for a max of 44 in/lbs of torque. I would not have expected that judging on the looks and the price of the two.

    • @jeffkemper3754
      @jeffkemper3754 2 роки тому +1

      The DeWALT tool is not designed to be a screw gun. It is a battery powered screwdriver, meant to use like an actual handheld flat head or Phillip's head screwdriver. Try taking your hand tool and screwing 10 screws into wood by hand. You must look at what the tool is intended to do. DeWALT makes many tools to screw wood screws into wood. This is not one of them.
