Not only is it trying to mimic something it isn't, the owner of that channel (not gonna say no names, cuz the dude is actually polite and was quite active in the 4.0 community) basically convinced so many people to do this mod, then people commented now I have check engine lights my idler is vibrating eratically I have a super hot EGR all sorts of things. THE FACT IS THIS MOD CAN POTENTIALLY CAUSE DAMAGE TO YOUR ENGINE THERE IS NO DENYING IT. It doesn't take a mechanic to understand that surging your engine and choking it makes it run inefficiently. Running this longer term will put strain on the internals, possibly make it run rich since the ECU is trying to overcompensate, which will do a number on your pistons. Let alone all the bearings, which have to constantly be under strain due to the thumping motion. On engines that already are plagued by timing tensioner problems, this definitely won't help. This is deeper than just an idler pulley or an EGR. Don't choke your pony. That's animal abuse. Btw I'm guilty of having stock size aftermarket wheels lol, but if you lived in a pothole infested city, you would understand 😂
Their not adding a lick of power in 99 out of 100 applications, their has to be a restriction in the intake. Maybe if you you got a huge cfm increase from a larger or ported intake manifold and you got a sjgnficantly larger TB and you started running a 100shot of nitrous MAYBE you would gain 2.5HP at the tippy top peak of your power band. So if your spending a bunch of money on new intake/throttle bodys and or nitrous or a Turbo/SC and you want to throw a TB spacer in for good messure sure go for it. The problem is 99% of people buy a TB spacer after they got a shitty cone filter "Cold air intake" that their stock intake which Ford spent tens of thousands of dollar on their factory intake that has great air flow coming from the fender/hood and now they havr a stupid cone filter intake pulling in air right off of their hot engine bay , these are the people who typically buy TB spacers not people who are calculating the CFM of their and intake and their Throttle body and are adjusting their AFM while dialing in their cars tune.
ngl i do the EGR valve cam sound thing; many people do actually love the sound including big car guys. It's easy to revert, and doesn't really do any damage to the car. Sure it doesn't make the car any faster, but I have gotten people asking about it! It's more of a "fun thing" to fiddle with, nothing too serious yk?

As far as the "cam" sound goes, he doesn't actually pull the vacuum line instead he thickens the EGR valve filter by laying it sideways, its actually kind of valid and sounds great. I'm still not gonna do it to mine because of the lack of research tho lol 😅 but he also has a custom setup with a mini fan constantly cooling the EGR too.
Ahhh gotcha. Nonetheless I still think it’s silly because it directly affects drivability and serves virtually no purpose. Maybe I’m just getting too old 😂🙃
Does it 'legitly' work? Sure. The down side is that it confuses the EGR sensor, and starts sending Trouble codes to the ECU, won't always cause a check engine light to come on. The result is an overworked ECU that's trying to constantly change fuel and air to compensate. Makes the engine run hotter, and can cause injectors to fail, and god forbid potentially fry the main ECU. Also, If the codes are not cleared with ForScan, or a similar method (a quick generic OBD2 code clear Doesn't work reliably), the codes likely will cause efficiency and mileage drops. If One were to do it, I'd highly suggest it not be driven that way, prob okay in limited amounts idling at a car meet or something every now and then.
i was thinking about putting a Flowmaster Force II True Dual Cat-Back Exhaust on my 2009 V 6 , I wanted to do it because I think it looks better with 2 exhaust pipes in the back . I don't want to to it for sound or to try to make it look like something it is not, in your opinion would it look stupid like I was trying to miss represent my car as something it is not ?
I put black chrome GT emblems on my GT. My GT is all black and stealthy looking ;) Soon to be putting Detroit Rocker cams in my car. Timing chain & gears, idler arm and wp. Not that it needs it but, I want the old school sound and a bit more power and to make sure everything else is in great condition once I do. I don't have a V6, I have a V8. :)
I could see getting aftermarket wheels that are the same size if their better looking and or lighter, light weight wheels are one of the most over looked mods IMO along with aluminum/carbon fiber driveshafts. Both will drop unsprung weight and each pound of unsprung weight is equal to 10lbs of sprung weight, and an aluminum drive shaft will also allow your engine to rev quicker and should free up a few HP on a dyno and be smoother while idleing.
Fair point. I was 20 at the time and it was free since the car was in an accident. With all my newer builds, I’ve gone the OEM+ route. I wouldn’t do a big cowl hood again.

Most of the time people get v6s bc they're WAY less expensive than GTs. Even today with used 05-09 SN197s, you can get a v6 for around $3-5K or you can get a GT for $9-12K. People who get V6s want an affordable sports car that looks nice but also serves as an economical daily driver.

Fun fact throttle body spacers increase plenum flow / volume and increase torque numbers but they don’t add much in terms of power 👍🏻

It will not mess with the transmission. I went from factory 16” wheels to 20’s and never had an issue.

Did u remove the side emblems yourself?
Yes! Just used a hairdryer and pulled it off. A bit time consuming but worked great. Had to use some goo-gone and polish off the remaining residue.
