    In this Uber Eats driver video, we talk about tip baiting. This is where an Uber Eats driver does an order expecting the pay to be a specific amount, but when the order is delivered, the customer reduces or completely removes the tip resulting in the Uber Eats driver making less money.
    Driving for Uber Eats can be a great source of income..
    This is due in part to customer tips... Customer tips that drivers rely on. Uber Eats base pay in 2024 isn't very high, so we rely on customer tips to make money on on the platform.
    This video talks about tip baiting, driver pay, unethical business practices as well as tells you how to get your money back after you've been tip baited on uber eats.

    I've gone through this on so many occasions but the message option to communicate the request for a supervisor is genius. Everytime I'm on the phone with a supervisor, they always give $25, it's happened on numerous occasions.

    Unfortunately Tip Baiting on Uber eats in our area has become a common practice. Uber needs to fix this because drivers here are fed up.

    Make sure to request a supervisor right off the bat because the regular Uber support will go through their speech.

    “Uber Support” always drags the issue on as long as possible in hopes you will give up trying.
    The amount of hours that turn into days trying to get the $3 compensation for going to pick up a delivery that already had been picked up is astounding.
    When you divide the hours into the $3 it’s beyond depressing that a company like Uber will spend so many hours and labor cost to attempt to prevent you receiving $3 because they screwed up.
    Take with that, what other work, family time, other responsibilities could you have better spent those extra hours at Pennie’s an hour?
    Uber is down a driver while this goes on meaning both sides are losing even more.
    We shouldn’t be fighting for $3 but for the full offer each and every time. What else would incentivize them to not send a dozen drivers the same order?

    Seems like you wasted a lot of time to get $25.

    This happened to me Wednesday this week. The difference was it was a literal house, the ppl got the correct complete order, it was delivered asap and I even waited on the food to be made. The customer even came outside and was grabbing the order as I was trying to take the picture. These customers should know they put their safety at risk doing this trash. Good luck clowns 🎯

      I don't let them run off with the food, I stop them. I say, "Since you selected for the photo to be taken, please hold the bag and give me a moment." I snap every single person, and with a polite professional voice I say, "The picture doesn't go to me, it gets sent to you to help prevent fraud."

    I usually do Uber Rides but because they so screwed up the background check process I tried Uber Eats. First trip of the day I got a double pick-up/drop off that looked like it would be about $14. Ended up with $5.00. Going back to Lyft until the Background Check issue is resolved. Uber's support is horrendous at the very best.

    I wanna add this: even if the effort is not worth trouble, you should still do it out of principle. It’s kinda like when you get a speeding ticket. Take it to court. There’s a chance that the officer won’t show up. (You may need to reschedule your court date for a better chance)

    They dont adjust or pay difference,they explained to me that I accepted their terms of service and it clearly says that customers have 1 hour to remove leave or even add more to the tip amount

      Just keep requesting to speak with a supervisor. They're job is to deter you - I've gotten all of my tip baits reimbursed

  • @johndavidson4210
    @johndavidson4210 15 днів тому +1

    You have to question why the customer even has the option to tip air in the first place. The app enabled the jerks who do this and then the driver subjected to even more torment by having to go thru customs serv for POSSIBLE positive resolution (no guarantees!)
    My guess that your customer had tip baited before.
    I tip my hat to you delivery folks. No freaking way am I delivering anything.
    There's already enough shenanigans involved when you have jerks in your car.
    Good luck!

    • @HarringJess
      @HarringJess 14 днів тому

      Agreed. The option to remvoe the tip should not be there, but if there was a legit issue with the delivery, Uber can refund the customer or give them Uber Cash for the next delivery.

  • @BuddyBoo123
    @BuddyBoo123 3 дні тому

    Good luck with that. They don't do that anymore. They pretty much laugh in your face and if you argue with them they threaten to take you off the app.

    I was tip bated for $1000 dollars for a pick up at jack in the box. When I was in the drive through line I got a text from the customer saying to get some extra ranch, bbq, ketchup, etc., and he will tip me $100 dollars. One or two minutes later he texted me again telling me to make sure I get a lot of extra sauce and he will tip me $1000. I took screenshots of the texts in the Uber app so I have evidence. I waited for the tip to come in but of course it didn’t. what do you guys think? Will Uber give me the $1000?

    All that jazz just to be treated fairly? Uber is fully aware of this and approves. They keep the prices down and maximize THEIR profits. The best is to boycott it until Uber decides to be on the side of the drivers. Maybe we should be able to vote on their bonuses by making them upfront and then pulling the rug out, maybe then they'll understand. Uber & Lyft; where you get decreases in pay.

    Why are people so willing to pay so much to a waiter for walking their food from the kitchen to their table but they don’t want to pay more than 2 dollars for driving to the restaurant, waiting for their food picking it up driving for miles to their house and delivering it to their lazy ass. ?

    The Companies need to charge the customer enough and pay us enough. Base Pay does not even cover my expenses. Uber takes their money Right off the top!!! We Don’t need to be working for tips dammit!!! Pay us!!!

    The best way to make money with food delivery is by not doing it. Why do you have to hunt down people that are allegedly hungry? It’s a waste of time , gas and effort

    I hate to point out by your logic , you're saying people should lose their accounts because of what you went through, I would say most drivers have dealt with at least two times where somebody was not available to get the food or the address was wrong or unacceptable and they had to deal with some type of return issue and had a problem and therefore those drivers in good faith doing their job the best of their ability should lose their jobs, everything is well documented and things should be on a better rating system and Uber doordash whoever knows exactly where you are at all times it's GPS located it should never be a debate as to whether or not you were at the address and if you take a picture of the food and leave it there it's up to the customer to actually access the food and our access to driver and when they don't then it's their word against the drivers when their food mysteriously disappears in the driver said that it was dropped off
