    If you apply ordinary baby powder to the mold interior, brush it around with a soft makeup brush, then blow off the excess before pouring the resin, you eliminate any surface bubbles, AND any missing pieces. The powder breaks the 'surface tension' that causes problems like this. Also, on small molds, it is a good idea to GENTLY squeeze the mold a bit to further release any trapped air. Lastly, use rubber bands to secure the mold halves, as this makes the squeezed the mold stay together! ;)

    This is incredible! If it really works like that every time, this is the best stuff ever!
    Is there any way to create hollow casts? Perhaps by inserting a straw inside the mould while pouring the resin and leaving it there until the resin cures?
    Thank you.

    Your videos are great and I'm thankful and in love with all of the casting/mold products you make. They are incredible! The process is easy, they are cost effective with quick results. It's satisfying to be able to make a mold, cast with resin (using the 10 minute resin) and in a total of 30 minutes I have an exact replica of the original piece! And I can many as I want. Thanks again!

      Tarra! Thank you for your kind words! I'm glad you enjoy using our products. I think the CC in this video is what UA-cam "hears" us saying, we didn't type it up ourselves.

    Interesting video and a pretty decent tutorial, definitely looks like useful stuff. Couldn't help but notice that the arm you took the time to vent was missing, did the resin not sufficiently fill that part of the mould?

    Could probably use clay or a gentle tie to stop the resin from coming out. Good tutorial for figurines with this tutorial thank you!

    I have a wooden project with an odd-shaped insect hole. I'd like to fill the hole and use that for a mold. Once the mold is done I can cast some kind of clear resin to fill the hole. What products do you recommend?

    What is the best way to fix a mold that has a thin bottom? I really love how my mold tuned out but the bottom is thin and I am afraid it will break when I use it.

    Hello I am having trouble getting my mold not to leak. The thing i am molding is small. Could I cut balsa wood and make an air tight box and push the alumilite down and imbed the figure halfway into the putty, then create the second half of the mold as instructed? I think this would work much better in my case but what do you think?

    • @AlumiliteCorporation
      @AlumiliteCorporation  10 років тому +1

      Tom, the cured product is a flexible silicone mold that you can get multiple castings out of. The mold cannot be recycled into a new mold if that is what you are asking. Thank you.
