the first video i seen was episode 11. john was scrubbing the hull and i thought to myself, geez that design looks familiar.. now after seeing this one i know why. C&C! i myself own a c&C27.really liking your videos so i subbed. love the humour and obviously the boat good choice you guys!
A fellow C&Cer! Are you part of the C&C owners FB group? And where in the world are you watching us from?? I'll be sure to tell John his humour got the stamp of approval and we will try and keep things entertaining!! Xx
How Not to Sail a Boat I’m in the pnw (Bella Bella BC) for the summer. Left Prince Rupert on my way down to Victoria. The dynamic between you guys I don’t think it’s possible to be unentertaining lol. I didn’t realize there was a Facebook group for c&c but I’ll definitely check it out.
Amy Alton thanks so much! I was lucky that my partner knows so much more about it than i do ... ive learned a lot, so ive written an article for Sistership magazine about what i learned!
You have to start somewhere, right? We are in the same stage...a few videos in and realizing with every episode all the things we could have done better. Don't be discouraged. Keep going strong! Your blog was shared by a friend of ours and you are a couple of years ahead of us. With your wiring skills, we hope to run into you somewhere on the water in our big world!
Hahaha done so much wiring now I could do it in my sleep! Thanks for coming to comment and words of encouragement, we hope to see you on the water for a fixing electrical hangout! 😉
HA - I can only imagine! We will let you know when we get on the water and hopefully our paths will cross. In the interim, we will follow along on your journey.
@@ShesTheSkipper Absolutely! We promise to send questions and/or share when something is helpful. At the moment, anything boat related is still so "out of our sights" as we don't own a boat yet ....but just seeing the courage you have to do what you are doing is REALLY encouraging!! :)
Wow! That was ages ago - glad you found it! We are back at the boat now and planning to start posting regular videos in a couple of weeks! Where in the world are you now??
I can't imagine how scary it would be not knowing how to sail and being out on the open ocean. EEK good luck. You will have an adventure of a lifetime. Stay safe.
Get those swimming lessons going and the adventure begins! My parents getting us involved as swimming when I was a kid was one of the best things they could have done for me :)
Subscribed! Really looking forward to more videos from you guys. As mentioned earlier in the comments, landscape video works best for youtube. Fair winds!
Thank you so much for subscribing and commenting!! We are looking to make another one in the next week or so but warning - we took these videos before we decided to have a UA-cam channel so a bit more of the portrait videos to come I think! After that, will DEFINITELY heed the good advice! Cheers Gregg!
Food and Footprints thanks so much! That was the bare minimum we could do before sailing so still a LOT more to do!! We are looking forward to entertaining everyone with all the chaos and fun and much more!!
We realised our mistakes early! Our next video may have a couple vertical videos just to make sure we don't skip anything but otherwise we will be keeping it in mind! Thanks for the comments!
Greg Greason thanks for following Greg! Heheh we realised our filming mistake after two episodes worth of videos so bear with us for the next one coming soon and then we promise to be horizontal filmers from now on! 😊
loveyourtravels - stacey&wayne thank you so Much! We hope to share it with as many people as we can as we feel pretty lucky to get to experience the cruising world!
Well, it looks like you will have quite the adventure ahead of you. Learning how to do repairs is the first step to surviving the open sea I guess! We wonder if you will have to change the channel name at the end the adventures to "How we learnt to sail a boat". Thanks for sharing. Keep travel vlogging. Adventure is better shared with friends! p.s... shoot more video in landscape mode, it uses more of the UA-cam canvas.
Thanks so much for the comments! Definitely repairs are important, we did not get much footage from the next part of our voyage, but lets just say fixing our steering while offshore from New York with big winds and big waves was a good learning experience! Will likely put a blog post up about it and also talk about it more when it is properly fixed when we get back to the boat after US winter! One thing we love about sailing is that it is an intellectual sport/lifestyle, so how do you know when you can claim you 'know how to sail'... we will always have something new we can learn about and we think (hope!) the name will be fitting for some time! Will definitely aim for landscape mode now - did not realise it until I went to piece this video together
If you watch our first video - let us know what you think! We would love to hear from you!

Cool! Well we will s we you in the FB group 😊 happy Canadian travels to you!
Good job doing so much work yourself. I swear, the electrical stuff is the scariest part!
Amy Alton thanks so much! I was lucky that my partner knows so much more about it than i do ... ive learned a lot, so ive written an article for Sistership magazine about what i learned!
I'll have to look for the article!
Looks like it is the August issue we are being published in - :)
The journey begins! 👨🍳
Forgive the amateur video making! It improves already in Episode 1!

Fun stuff! And let us know if you have any questions on anything we do - if our videos helped someone then yet another reason to make them!

We will surely let you know! It is our home port so maybe we can have a big shindig!
I went through my phone and saw the note to look up your UA-cam channel. Safe travels from the guy you met on the way to Sydney Airport.
Wow! That was ages ago - glad you found it! We are back at the boat now and planning to start posting regular videos in a couple of weeks!
Where in the world are you now??
We're based in Williamstown so be sure to drop in

Hi John and Cally! It was good meeting you today. Check those keel bolts! Fair winds to you for your travels.
Onto it! Will see you around the yard the next couple days and if we miss you have a safe drive south!
I can't imagine how scary it would be not knowing how to sail and being out on the open ocean. EEK good luck. You will have an adventure of a lifetime. Stay safe.
Luckily john has been on a lot of boats! Therefore the operation of all the systems is under control! But it definitely is still a new experience!!
That's great to buy a boat to travel together. Looking forward to see both of your adventures ahead.
Thank you Nafisa! We hope to entertain and post a few more videos this month before resuming our journey! : )
That is a very bold adventure! Good for you. I can't wait to see more!
Thanks Jen! We are excited to get back to the boat in a month and resume the journey :)

Wow, that's awesome that you got everything read on your own! Can't wait to see all your adventures!!
Travel Pockets thanks for watching! 💜
Tip#1: Don't film vertically please...
We realised our mistakes early! Our next video may have a couple vertical videos just to make sure we don't skip anything but otherwise we will be keeping it in mind! Thanks for the comments!
Congratulations - enjoy the boat. By the way turn your phone horizontally when shooting video - ever seen a vertical TV?
Greg Greason thanks for following Greg! Heheh we realised our filming mistake after two episodes worth of videos so bear with us for the next one coming soon and then we promise to be horizontal filmers from now on! 😊
This is amazing! Seems like a lot of setup but I bet you it's still so much fun. Hope you both have some epic sailing ahead!
We Who Roam definitely worth the effort for the multi-year adventure from the US back to Australia!
Great Video and Story!! Hope your travels are awesome as you are for getting your dream a reality!
loveyourtravels - stacey&wayne thank you so Much! We hope to share it with as many people as we can as we feel pretty lucky to get to experience the cruising world!
Nicely done! When was this filmed? I'm assuming fall of 17 as it's still pretty cold up here now. Looking forward to more videos.
David Duncan yes it was! We are a little behind on videos and plan to set sail in Fall of 2018 now after saving up a bit in Australia...
