In all the years of playing, that was the first time they ever played together (and so far the only time). It looked like they were playing for/to each other, hardly ever turning towards the audience. Great guys
This is such a treat, Clapton and Frampton performing the great George Harrison hit, from The Beatle's White album from 1968, on which Eric played lead guitar. The mutual respect and admiration shared by Frampton and Clapton for their multi talents is so evident in this great performance and they play together like long time partners. Frampton on his '54 Les Paul and Clapton on his Crashocaster leading the brilliant licks while Peter sings the classic lyrics leading to the bursting of the guitars in a climatic display. Brilliant. Great reaction Harri. Thanks Harri and Anne. 👏👏 Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦
I bought the Herd album in 1968 but gave it to my sister. Several years ago, both my sisters and their husbands went to seen Frampton in concert and took the album with them. When they held it up, Frampton stopped the show and pointed it out. Afterwards he invited them back to his dressing room for a meet and greet.
The Fender Stratocaster and the Gibson Less Paul... Two instruments that helped create most of the greatest Classic Rock go together like Peanut Butter And Jelly, we all grew up on them.
That joy of playing together just resonates and Peter just smiles so big the whole time. As you said it's a true collaboration and not a contest. I go back and watch this one a lot.
After all those years, this was the first time Eric and Peter ever performed together. Peter has talked about this performance in several interviews. This is from the 2019 edition of Eric's Crossroads Guitar Festival.
Here it is if you want to watch it. I've seen drop the mic moments, but Prince took it to another level. Prince, Tom Petty & others - "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" ua-cam.com/video/uWc4wMyL1oI/v-deo.html
Absolutely beautiful!!! Sometimes those combo solos can get a bit muddled and sloppy. But not here. Perfectly played with intent and passion and so much talent!!! I hadnt heard this in awhile. Thanx for bringing it back and reminding me! Love your reaction Harri!!! And your giggle!!! ✌️💕🎶
Anne - This performance is one of my all-time favorites showcasing two of the two guitar masters, Clapton and Frampton. An very rare duet between Eric Clapton and Peter Frampton occurred during the first night of Clapton's famous Crossroads Guitar Festival in Texas. The pair had never performed together before until that night when they played two numbers, one of which was "While My Guitar Gently Weeps'". For those who may not know, George Harrison invited Clapton to play on this song that Harrison wrote from the Beatles White album. Clapton was not credited for this contribution (notably not by George) to this and a few other Beatles songs. The Beatles never played this in concert since the last tour they did was in 1966, and While my Guitar Gently Weeps was recorded in 1968. Outstanding submission and a truly remarkable reaction/review by Harri. 👏👏 A full 5 Lava Lamps rating from me!
Believe it or not there is even a better cover of this. These two are brilliant! However a Tribute to George Harrison at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame will blow your socks off! Tons of A-Listers there, but Prince definitely stole the show. Please oh please watch it! Pretty Please. Just take a second now and do yourself a favor.

Oh Harri! This was absolutely incredible! And the best part was that you introduced me to it. Until I came across it on your channel about 20 minutes ago, I didn't even know it existed. So, I got to react to it at the same time I was watching you react to it. That in itself, was quite surreal and I enjoyed it immensely! Eric and Peter were phenomenal. Thank you so much for sharing this video!
Loved this, great version of a classic song. Straight after, I then went and watched the version including Prince, Tom Petty, Jeff Lynne and Steve Winwood, and I still prefer that version. Prince (RIP) was on fire, I wished he had concentrated on guitar driven rock music.
Eric's guitar weeps, Frampton although great playing does not weep. Many guitarists can play the notes, example Princes playing. But to make the guitar weep there are not many that can do that. That is the reason George got Clapton to play on the original song. I would have loved to see SRV play this song.
Love Peter Frampton and, in spite of his amazing guitar skills, I have trouble listening to or seeing Clapton without thinking of his horrifying statements of racism and xenophobia. Sorry if that offends some of his fans. I can respect the music but not the man. 🌺✌️
This is one of those songs that is so great that any cover is good (unless you really mess it up of course). Not the best version IMO. But that’s an opinion and everyone has theirs 😁
Have seen Peter Frampton many times and he’s always smiling! Truly enjoys playing!! Young or older! Great musicians, once in a lifetime!❤️❤️

@agnetesorensenelbom5085 Good Morning Agnete. 🥰🥰🌷🌷🪻🪻🇨🇦💕🇩🇰🎸🎸🤗🤗
Peter Frampton, started in The Herd and later on in Humble Pie, is a real underrated guitarist. And together with Eric, a great combination.

Peter Frampton has made such beautiful music with his singing/guitar playing. I discovered this song years later he put it out. WOW!

Peter Framptons dad Owen, was my art teacher back in the mid 1970's. A really lovely man.
After all these years I still have such a man crush on Peter Frampton - what an amazing human being - so warm and genuine

One of my very favorite Beatles songs!!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤. And what a cover......as good as the original!!!
Clapton played on the original.
You gotta hear the version with Tom Petty and Jeff Lynne featuring a stunning guitar solo by Prince.
Prince stole the show
Harri has already reacted to that one 😊 ua-cam.com/video/bP5Zfncrtek/v-deo.htmlsi=a2Gpx3jagLqnvhrG

Legend has it that at the same time the guitar gods Jeff Beck, SRV & Hendrix were jamming up in Heaven
Thank you for getting around to this one! Love it, one of my faves!!! 🔥
Eric Clapton: "C'mon Peter, I have to go!" 😂😂
Frampton didn't want this to end! He was so happy and amazed!
I love this video!
Peter exudes pure joy when he plays.
Two Legendary Guitar Gods I'm happy to have seen live
Oh my! Shafts of Sunlight at the end of this interminable grey day. Brilliant! Thanks!
A jam session with Clapton and Frampton - imagine if you added Mark Knopfler
Two great guitarists together, pretty cool! Always like Peter after seeing him in 1976.Thanks Harri!
These two are great!! 😍😍 Peter loves to play and sing. Love him! He put a smile on Eric face too!
I remember seeing that the first time some years ago, and it was and still is epic, two Guitar giants Eric and Peter for sure !!
What a performance! I get shivers down my spine. Two giants!!! I got emotional watching them playing those guitar notes!
George is proud of them!
Beautiful reaction~ Peter Frampton was one of my favorite concerts ever.
They were enjoying each other that was fantastic.
Eric Clapton played the lead guitar on the Beatles version.
And Harrison returned the favor on Badge. Not the main lead, but the bridge.
Not sure which I enjoyed more, the performance with two greats or Harri's reaction.

It's so great to see Eric move on, after the negative things that have happened in his personal life.

So many have covered it. Prince, Tom Petty, Steve Winwood and a couple others teamed up to do a killer version at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
" what a day to be alive" you said!
Wow..what a duo.
Check out Todd Rundgren’s cover of this song.
Great stuff!
❤❤❤ INCREDIBLE ❤❤❤❤
No one mentions when Peter Frampton says "You watched a dream come true" no need to say anything else. I hope
Just so freaking good! Great job As Always!

Eric CLapton played on the Original Beatles version of this song. Look it up :)
Eric played on The Beatles original version
Jeff Healey does a cover of this too, that is incredible!! I hope you'll check it out.

Jeff Healey's version is great as well .
Where can i find the video you used, the only ones i can find are phone recordings with lesser audio quality, but this one has great quality

I agree. Hard to get past that. No respect
THIS... is the best version of this song! Harrison and Mark Knopfler appear on the track backing Jeff up! ua-cam.com/video/QT-D75P9-EE/v-deo.html

Better than Prince?
