• Sigur Rós HEIMA Full E... ***
This is a re-cut, extended and very different version of the Sigur Ros tour movie Heima. It's mostly made up of material from the 2 disc version DVD. The result is full, uninterupted performaces, beautiful landscapes and not much more. Straight to the core. No interviews, voice-overs or other distracting stuff. Most things cut out are both good and interesting but without a place in this particular version.
The idea has been to be more to the point and focus on the music. More timeless if you will. Make it a film of the tour, rather than about it. At times one can get a feeling of a teaser-trailer for the tour when watching the original version.
Note that I made this for myself, the way I wanted it to be. It turned out really good and I thought others might like it as well.
But, as always with this kind of thing; feel free NOT to watch it. And the original is still out there.

This music is above the time. In a few centuries people will listen to Sigur Ros all the time. Nowadays they didnt reach this point. Greeting from Poland

Saw them live finally this year. My girlfriend cried the first 3 songs straight, I cried on the fourth. Didnt get less emotinal for the next tow hours.

If it is possible I found this version to be even more moving than the original. Don't ask me why, as I found the interviews and attention to the faces of the people to be the most interesting and moving part of the original movie. But this blew me away. 44:00 I have visited this place, back in 2017, I hadn't seen Heima at that stage. I even climbed into the old metal production house with my Icelandic friend, and he told me tales of his grandmother, who used to live on the old rusting ship sitting in the harbour. I really loved that trip up to the North of Iceland, and I love Sigur Ros too. Glosoli is about God you know.....

Thanks for sharing. The track recorded in the Gamla Borg coffee shop (Ágætis byrjun I think starts at 33:53) is just such an amazing version blows my mind every time. Love the looks on the faces of those sat listening

And I agree, fantastic performance. And you know what? The reason the audience is so very into it is probably down to the fact that they are mostly friends and family. Alex is there. Must have been a very special occasion for everyone present. Would be great to see the rest of that performance.

The Dauðalagið (56:32) from Seydisfjordur is so powerful it brings me to tears. That song did the same for me when I saw them in Chicago. Such raw power and emotion.

You’re welcome, it must have taken so much time and thought to put together in such a polished way. I visited Iceland a few years ago and explored a good part of the West of the country, taking lots of photos from my travels. I put them into some montages to Sigur Ros and published them on here too. Incredible country and people, the music is a bonus as I love it so much.

Well, thank you! But just to be totally clear about things. This version is not the one found on any dvd. It's edited and quite different. The original is up elsewere on YT and beyond.

Thank You! Glad you like it: -) Well, some things had to go and Rimur never been a favorite of mine, not pure SR if you know what I mean. And some of the footage surrounding it in the film just didn't match my idea of a new version. I wrestled with it quite a bit but ended with "Oh, fuck it - Cut!"

In terms of video on YT probably Jonsi Go Live - it turned out pretty well. Even tho I really didn't had a clue what I was doing at the time. And the concert in and by itself is just wonderfull. Stunning. Sometimes I probably like Jonsi solo more than SR. Speaking of witch - this is something you REALLY should check out. Sublime just got a new meaning...

May I know what song is playing in the credits? Apparently it's not Samskeyti.
It's "Heima". A studio version can found as a b-side to "Inní mér syngur vitleysingur". This live version I think is exclusive to the film itself. I changed things around to maximize the number of songs. The performance of Samskeyti is to good to have credits crawling all over it...

Any know if exist a "real" HD 1080 version?
If you mean this edited verson - No. It's mostly sourced from the DVD i.e. 720. Upscaling, in my opinion, is best done by the end user. The parts downloaded at the time (from SR homepage more than a few years back) was not 1080p even though supposed to be. The version of the original available today claims to be 1080 but I haven't checked.
@@spiderbite76 I mean the original version. It would be great if exist an HD or at least 720 version. I remember to saw an extract of one of the recorder songs in HD so it would be weird if it wouldn't be a full movie version in HD

Good question... I've tried to figure that one out myself and failed. Can't quite make out the words. And Schazam wont help.
Since it's a 78 rpm it's probably made no later than the mid 50's.

Spiderbite76 I just noticed after messegn u they have it on their website in 1080p for streaming or download..about 5uro...watched it tismoring pretty nice improvement...it also has extra performances that say went included on the DVD ..but it dies seem to want to let me buy them
Yeah, I got that version also, but I'm not too fond of it really. To me it seems like lower in resolution than the dvd actually. Bought it as I had trouble ripping my dvd but only used it for the extras as disc 2 was just impossibleto work with. In my version you can clearly see how the quality drops a notch in the parts not from the main movie. But I don't know for sure, could be down to my hardware or something.
Spiderbite76 strange theirs a huge improvement over the DVD when I'm watching the 1080p...their are two versions to chose from when downloading a sterio and a 5.1 version,maybe its only the 5.1 is 1080p?also the stream only seems to play in 720p.....did the download version let you download the extras?mine will only let me download the first disc..
Ah, my memory fails me... Maybe I should check back on this. I did buy the extra material including the "extra" extras. But I don't think it came with the main film. The standard $4 version do not include any bonus material I believe.
Regarding the picture quality I clearly remember A n B them and choosing my own rip when I could as it was way better. Witch it shouldn't be... Odd.

what language is this?
Some of their lyrics are in icelandic and others in vonlenska which is a language without meanings created by his singer. Vonlenska is to use the voice like other instrument and an invitation to give it your own meaning.
And von means "hope" so it's hopelandish basicly.
And by the way... for anyone not enough acquainted with the band to not know where they're from I STRONGLY suggest to check out the original version of this film first. ☺

Good question! Well, I struggled with that one a bit. Thing is that both versions of the performance has quite a lot of footage from outside the venue following the marching band through town. And that does not fit in this particular version. I had mental borders set up to make it somewhat clear how to do this edit. The marching band fell outside those borders... 🙂 Today, with better editing skills I've probably would have kept more of song I think.
@@spiderbite76 Aww poor marching band 😔 Your movie chum, your decisions. I thought it was a lovely thing to do bringing them into the original performance. Kinda fitted in to what it was all about. But I get why you didn't bring them into this version. As I said in my first comment, this version blew me away more than the original for some reason. Yes, I most certainly agree, it was a very fitting and fine thing to do. Heart warming to see that rather random but lovely bunch of people stepping into the limelight for a short while. But, alas, they had to go. 😊
