    Thank you for this highly informative video. I purchased an identical product online and there were no explanations in the manual as to how to utilize the product, only how to adjust it. I wasn’t sure if the pressure and stretching I was feeling was a healthy thing, so I was glad to find your video, as I had even stored the product in the closet because I discontinued using it out of confusion.

    The way you place the stretcher makes sense, and its curious that all of the U tube videos on these back stretchers, they have you place the stretcher all the way to the middle back lol!, with their butt on the floor.... I was doing it like that, but seeing your video, it made sense right a way that the center part should be directed toward the problem area you want to stretch, and I noticed that it was more comfortable doing it this way... before i was struggling with the arching of the middle back, since I have to place it more in the lumbar region, once I moved it down it felt more relaxed.... so thank you!

      Hi Sheila, I recommend about 10-15 mins a day. As long as you position the peak of the stretcher at the level of the segments you want to treat you can use this for upper and lower lumbar disc problems. So in your case you would have the peak of the arch at the highest point of your lumbar spine

You should perhaps have a cut from those sellers or makers of these back stretchers with flimsy information in English then French, Spanish, Italian, German & Dutch. The insight from the spine analysis is very easy to comprehend and the demonstration for effective treatment & where/ how to position stretcher; with the peak of the stretcher used to alleviate where the issue is ie if lower lumber, L4-L5 region. Many thanks ChironGen, fabulous!. I can now get the best use of my stretcher which only came in a day ago.

    • @chirogen1954
      @chirogen1954  2 роки тому

      Hi there, hyperkyphosis is not a lumbar complaint and this is generally for the Lumbar spine. You could try positioning the stretcher broadly under the hyperkyphosis for a bit of a stretch in the thoracic region but this item is generally more appropriate for the Lumbar spine.

    • @chirogen1954
      @chirogen1954  2 роки тому +1

      You can lie on it to improve thoracic extension mobility but you would be better off trying to improve that with active exercises like wall angels. Don't try to remove the thoracic kyphosis, it is supposed to be there. It only becomes a hyperkyphosis with prolonged poor posture which is better addressed with exercise or specific conditions such as scheurmans.

    Very informative video. This will help me use the equipment properly. Technical suggestion: wear a wireless lavalier microphone to improve sound quality and intelligibility. My favorite is the Sennheiser MKE2. Don't know what you're using for video, but see if you can place something on your mark and pre-focus to be tack sharp.

      Yes. I do sometimes use one now. This was my first video. I didn't have good equipment and the room was fairly empty. Thanks for recommendation 😀

    Thank you. Will this help with posture? I’ve got quite a lazy stance with the rounded shoulders.

    • @chirogen1954
      @chirogen1954  Рік тому +1

      Not really. It's a passive treatment. Gentle traction to stretch the tissues and open up the joints. Posture is down to muscle imbalances. Strengthen the weaker ones and stretch the tight ones to fix posture :)

    I stepped off the pavement on some random day 4 years ago and I've been in pain ever since. Sometimes it's so bad I'm completely bedridden barely even able to clothe myself or go to the toilet. The pain is on the level of a gunshot. Ever since I found a soft bed was aggravating it I've been just barely functional but in pain every day. It has destroyed my health and I'm only in my 30s. West Midlands here too.
    I only found this video after randomly buying this back stretcher on Amazon.
    I will watch and rewatch this video with my stretcher.
    If you can suggest any resources or guides I'd be eternally grateful. Hope this stretcher helps!

      Sorry to hear that. Sounds like you should have a diagnosis by now and been offered some sort of treatment plan to help you to recover from your injury

      It's not something I would recommend for upper back. For upper back I would recommend release using a foam roller

    Hello nice video and very well explained. I have a question I am a carrier of a neurostimulator for my lower back place l5 s1 there is also an electrode on my lower back, now my question is can I also use a back stretcher? I still suffer from sciatica complaints due to my lower back. Greetings from Billy from Belgium

      Hi there, the back stretcher does only offer very gentle traction but I am not familiar with the surgery involved in neurotransmitter placement so wouldn't like to say for sure that it is appropriate to use. Best to ask your consultant to be sure

      I would usually advise these for discs rather than the bones. A fully healed and remodelled vertebral bone can take as long as 18 months so I wouldn't push it too much just yet. :)
