Possibly intentional as the golf 7s especially the gtds looked better than most a3s out there. New golf 8 isnt too bad looking just the front takes some getting used to this time generation for generation this is head and shoulders nicer to look at.

I actually think Audi has pretty much nailed it with the car. Of course we'll have to wait for performance tests and sound but - the outside styling is really nice - the new inside layout is gorgeous, modern and FINALLY they got some good old handy buttons back instead of the touch buttons - the infotainment is top class and connectivity is good - seems comfy and the back windows go all the way down - pretty good boot space because it's a hatchback. The engine choices seem pretty much alright and I love that you can choose a manual gearbox (hopefully for all engine specs)!!
Oh I love that blue! Also the requirement for having a front licence plate or not in the US is set at the state level. Here in Minnesota they are required.
Doublethink not a problem. I lived in Missouri which required front and back plates but I was right on the border with Kansas that only needed a rear one. I also lived in Florida which only has rear plates and there you must go into a parking bay forwards so the plate can be seen by police as they pass.
Most luxury brand compact cars looked dorky and like a vehicle people would get who couldn't get their aspirational vehicle, but this is actually a car that looks nice by itself. Good job Audi! If this were to come stateside, I would probably consider it.

Still happy with my sportback TDI quattro thanks. 5.5 years old, 43k on the clock. ECU REMAP stage one. 420nm. B&O system. Sunroof and all that. Love my car.

absolutely, if we look at the car like at a stand still object, it looks nice...only when you start driving the car you start to dislike a little bit here ( the engines ) and a little bit there ( the gearboxes )..everything else is fine ..it's a luxurious place to take a nap
Wow wow wow! Audi nailed it. I own a 2015 A3. It was hard to beat that, but they did. I will say that it's not quite enough to get me to upgrade, but it is damn close! Way to go Audi. The car is awesome.

The front license plate law in America is state by state, not nationwide. Also, when talking about the drag coefficient, you can simply say 0.31. You don't need to add the Cd at the end because if it were on paper, you would read it as Cd = 0.31.

The thing these car designers dont seem to understand that even if you lower the bonnet for better crash protection when it comes to pedestrians. Your body will just get scooped up, hit the windscreen the flipped up into the air like a pancake. Its not the initial impact from the car that kills you. Its the impact from the fall after youve been tossed into the air. Then theres stuff like G force and centrifugal forces that rip at your body while in the air depending how your body gets thrown off the car and which direction. if youre thrown off in front of the car it will mainly just be the impact of the fall that does the most damage. If youre scooped up like a fat sausage and rolled over the windscreen and thrown off top and behind the car by the angled windscreen then thats probably the worst kind of damage. all the g-forces and centrifugal forces will be ripping at you and twisting your spine in all sorts of directions while youre in mid air till you hit the ground.
CARWOW WOW! I am very impressed. When I first clocked eyes on one I thought it looked longer, and with the lower roofline it'll seem longer still. I look forward to seeing the long awaited S3 now. I'll be sticking to my 2018 S3 for a while though, but def would consider the 2020 S3. It gets both thumbs up from me Matt

I think the put hard plastics lower in the car because they are prone to scuff marks and are easier to clean.
