Working as a billionaire’s private chef will bag you a six-figure salary, but you’ll also have tons of responsibilities to keep you busy. You might be able to live on your employer’s massive estate in your very own guest house, but that could mean going 10-weeks without visiting your family. You can travel all over the world on yachts and private jets, but you’ll have to learn about languages and currency to be able to gather the freshest ingredients wherever you go. And while you might receive gifts like cash and expensive watches, you could also be on-call 18-hours a day. Just ask private chefs like Dean Harper and Michael Harwood, who’ve done everything from prepare caviar and champagne at 1AM to forage on a deserted island for fresh pineapple.
To become good enough for a billionaire to hire you as their private cook, you have to get a culinary degree from a great school like the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York. You’ll also need lots of charisma and patience-- you might be dealing with rude guests and your responsibilities will include everything from menu planning to cleaning up after yourself. Private chefs also get to work with incredibly expensive ingredients like $12,000 Yubari King Melon, Kobe Beef which costs $1,475 for 5 pounds, or a $25,000 2.2-pound tin of Almas Caviar. From cooking on yachts to preparing the most expensive food, here’s what it’s like working as a billionaire’s personal chef.

I thought the chef was a billionaire.
same
Exactly, I mean a bonus of $1,200 does not make that chef a billionaire. 🤔 😆

Me too.. couldn't believe it so I clicked..
Lol, me too
I was a restaurant cook before becoming a private chef before turning to social media. I did dinner parties for many clients in Aspen and It was super stressful.

@@_AdrianRamirez_ actually a lot of billionaires don’t work they just aren’t technically retired because they receive residual income from shares but many of their companies are sold to still working billionaires and conglomerates
I have this ~3b worth client/friend who is so down to earth that he takes the metro to downtown, drives a Japanese SUV, eats at cheap takeouts(mostly), doesn't hire full-time domestic cleaners, lives in a relatively small(2000sqf) luxury condo, is friendly to everyone!
i think a lot of people are like that too, imagine being very arrogant and rich, that would just be cringe
@@danielakbari3447 yea.. of cos there's always some nice people around! I also kinda realize that the old money rich folks behave very differently from those newly minted billionaires..

@@mustaphaotasse5547 I sold him the Japanese SUV..
where do you live?
$8,000 a month for working 12-18 hour days including weekends, is actually minimum wage.
exactly what I was thinking
They're conveniently not mentioning the tips. That figure you're stating does not take into account the lavish tips and gifts that these chefs get by virtue of serving rich clients. No surprise they also don't pay taxes on these tips most of the time
You are insane if you think thats minimum wage, even with the long hours.
What’s minimum wage where YOU live😂 plus remember you’re on the clock that long but you’re not cooking the whole time
I did it for $ 15,000 a month managing a whole hotel
I don’t know who, but someone needs to hear this, you’ve got to stop saving all your money. Venture into investing some if you really want financial freedom
Beautifully said. I tell my folks these words everyday.
It’s good to save money but most people don’t understand the market moves and tend to be misled in facts like this and always depends on money in the bank
@Galina Giansoldati If you think you’re too busy to trade or learn how to trade, just know I have some friends who invests with a platform where experts devote their time and help them trade and generate a good ROI
@Galina Giansoldati My personal portfolio/investment manager; Charles Christopher Herman, he runs an investments platform where you don’t have to undergo any stress in the trades, he managed my trading account which I only have to invest capital and get profits sent directly to my wallet
People like me are scared to invest in commodities because of the high rates of unprofessionals today , but this is fantastic. Just made few a research about Charles Christopher from FINRA

Had been working 3 years as private chef in yacht and villas its really well payed but really hard bussy job.
That sounds like quite the life experience though!
If you're reading this, look into Anthony Bourdain. The "chef" life is more about those long hours than the fancy shit. Its more about caring for the food more than a watch or a boat ride. You have to love your food, then worry about the BS perks.
Is that not the point of loving food?
Had a associate… she took a blind interview process long story short she ended up being the chef for the owner of the Spurs making over 6 figures…. Best part from what I’m told they don’t want a lot of detailed dishes it’s mostly simplistic
Average person spends $233 on groceries a month ?? Wtf are they eating ... instant ramen and cornflakes ...
"He was paid well… $8450 per MONTH" umm… sure, "paid well" for basically 24/7 on call at the whim of your BILLIONAIRE boss.
Right? I don’t know if I calculated it right, but if a chef is working 12 hours a day, 7 days a week, they’re making around $25 an hour. That’s not a ton considering they’re technically constantly ON the clock.
I make that much after taxes being a truck driver 😂 no education debt hell I barely graduated high school
He got a $1200 bonus for Christmas. Thats less than the stimulus checks we got!
True, that amount sounds like an insult having to be a slave to a billionaire, who probably drinks that away in a weekend.
Facts. The cook is literally the reason u are even still alive. They deserve to get paid WELL. I make that much being a stripper and I only work 12 hrs a week, and ppl arent allowed to talk to me outside of work, I can tell any client who disrespects me or acts entitled to fuck off and say no to anything I dont want and am uncomfortable with. Amd I'm not even in a big city. Cooks work way more hours with way more stress for way more entitled ppl- and cant even yell someone ofd unless they eanna damge their careers lol. Whoever this billionaire is stingy asf.
I mean your chef probably receives 1000 gifts a day, as you are 'The Richest'

No way billionaires spend only 2,000$ a month on groceries. I spend a similar amount and I'm no where close to being one.
It sounded to me like bullshit lol, just look at 5:41 . Maybe they spend $2000, only if they eat 95% of their meals in restaurant
Oh come on, I work on yachts and they spend 1000€ on a week, not even billonaires, just rich people. Everyone is different. And they, they complain about 50 cents haha

It is awesome to have you're own private chef
It’s hell on earth unless you get a very very rare decent boss. Money isn’t worth it.
I spend £500 on groceries for myself, my misses and my daughter. I ain't close to a billionaire.
That all it matters my guy. Money is temporary , family isn’t.
I could not avoid thinking about the movie Ratatouille while watching this video. By the way, very good video.
At one point I thought I would love to work for someone rich. I do not think I could handle the stress from it. I used to also think about if I would hire a private chef if I ever became rich. My ex-wife said I would probably drive my chef insane constantly getting into the middle of things since I like to have so much control over what is made in my kitchen.
Waking up me up at 1 am for champagne 😳...slavery.... can’t they pour some champagne themselves? Christ ....
Lmao!

Hello Annie how are You doing today hope you are having a great day
You can not believe how stressful it is to be one. I currently working for one now in thailand you will need to come up with new menu every meals. All of them have differents diet. One for body builder, another for low diet calories and sugar and last for non veg diet. The time they eat the meal between the day also unpredictable, event and party is on or off mostly you can never tell. Ps.I'm just sharing experiences by no means complaining. If you looking to be one of private chef for high net worth ppl. Therichest really on point.
With this kind of experience, you would rather start your own restaurant, and earn even more.

You know that a US American is writing the script when it is considered a “perk” to have a minimum of one month “paid vacation per year”! With the exception of a few tiny island nations and the USA ALL countries mandate paid holiday for employees with virtually all developed nations mandating 20 days or more paid vacation - in other words one month.
We need more of these
Wow... in Canada, groceries are a lot more expensive. We spend about $800/month on food (including restaurants and take outs) family of two. Can't imagine what it costs for a family of 4, here in Canada.

This is a really lame and bad way of thinking. No matter your profession and how much you love it, you still deserve to be paid fair wages.

Great video
Well id be easy to cook for. I am not a sea food fan, dont care for much dairy products, dont care for steaks or much red meat and love my fresh vegetables and fruits. I love Chinese food, especially fried rice. A omelette and pancakes would be fine for me in the morning and grilled spicy chicken fillets and with steamed broccoli and mashed potatoes would be good enough for supper. I even had a organic dandelion salad the other day, was super nutritious and tasty.
Anyone know the movies that the scenes they used are from?
I love chefs
Well, thats one way of living the life of a rich person. Being their master chef. Car hop trays from amazon.
Yeahhh i went to culinary school and do personal chef work. Its hard work but I don't think I could handle the wealthy rich clients private chef. Too much entitlement for me. There's a reason why they pay well. But on the other side of that coin, if I were rich, I'd probably be the pickiest client of all because if I can make it, you better make me something I can't that's really exotic 😏.
