This would require a full analysis of your chart. For example, you might be better suited to the stone representing your Dasha lord at the time. Many times, rings were made to be worn then thrown in the river or sea once the period of the stone is over. Few of us can do that these days. Therefore they recommend the lagna stone as that can last for a lifetime. But in cases like yours while it still may be advantageous, there may be other stones to prefer based on your dasha and life circumstances.
