..great to see the videos of your Norman cavalry work , finally got round to getting a bag myself and made a start on the first few horses , ..layering and shading for the horses nowadays , ..done away with the oil wipe method a good while ago , ( Ok for Historex 54mm , in the 80's. !!) find it easier to layer and better results now , ..nothing wrong with oil wipe off ,great results if you get it right but a bit of a mess if you get a bad casting , ...
I went through a stage of using oils in the 80s too. You can get some really good effects from them, but they take ages to dry and that put me off. That's why I started using Acrylics. So much easier lol.🙂👍
I admire your work very much. I would love to see a video on how you paint your horses. Brush technique, color selections. Do you drybrush or layer? Video please! You've set a bar i want to reach. Well done!
Brilliant paintjob! Well done Sir! Can you tell me how you make your Crusader desert bases? Did you use vallejo pale sand? Looks so realistic. Thumbs up!
Hi mate. Thanks for that. Yes it is pale sand. Then washed with a mix of sepia and umber wash I think. I painted them a while ago and I kinda made it up as I went tbh. 😊👍
Thanks mate. At the moment I'm using a mixture of vallejo and scale 75 paints, but I've got some army painter and games workshop colours and inks that I also use for certain bits. 🙂👍
For someone who doesn't like painting horses i would say that's rather good.🐻🤗👍
Lol thanks 🤣. The problem is that they take as long as the bloody rider to paint and they're seriously tedious 🤣🤣👍
