Nice one, buddy! I always like to have my Vic tweezers with me, so I keep a classic sd on my keys. That way, whether I'm carrying alox or cellidor, I've always got tweezers with me. Cheers!
I’ve been edc the farmer since the early 90’s. I use a mini tyrap on the split ring as a toothpick and just let it hang ther3 for immediate use. I like the tweezer trick. Ps one can always whittle a toothpick.
I like the robustness of the Alox SAK's, but I do like my Super Tinker with plus scales more however for daily carry. I actually use the pen, tweezers and toothpick often enough that I miss them when I carry an Aolx model instead. I also like that my Super Tinker has all the tools that I use daily and it's in one small and convenient package--no need to carry other items and add bulk to my EDC load-out. 👍Thanks for sharing, take care my friend and Cheers!
Double carry is the way to go. Swisscard or a 58mm complementing a bigger model (be it an Alox or a Spartan or any other 84-91-93mm model that doesn’t have scissors) is brilliant. There are lots of combinations to explore!
@@Miguel_GM Thanks Miguel! I think it may be possible to stash a few other small items in three larger Alox models. Possibly a small safety pin, magnet or even emergency cash as a rolled up note...
I went down the Classic SD route as a companion to my Pioneer X. Both have been modified though. The Pioneer has had the key ring ground off (I just find it more comfortable in the hand), and the SD has been fitted with a set of titanium scales which still have the slots for toothpick and tweezers (Almost an Alox with all the tools 😄)
Ill tell you something funny. In the army i was stationed in the high desert. We ran into cactus that would go straight through our boots. We used tweezers all the time. The tweezers became more important then any knife. We tried leatherman but they didn't work very well back then. So i have seen a time when having tweezers was very important so important the PX soldout on swiss army knives. Not like it's common but its funny how when you need a certain tool nothing else will do.
You could put 6mm magnet under scissors as well. And you can put tweezers in to a small plastic tube and put the pin there too. It also will be little thicker so won’t fall out accidentally when you open only one tool. As for Swiss Card, while some say it’s TCA friendly, well, first they took a knife from mine, next time they took a scissors. So better no to risk with that at all.
Thanks for the tip about the magnet and the warning on the scissors. I think it depends on the country as to which tools are banned. I will test this out on dinner work trips in February.
@@MB_EDC always welcome! It happened to me in Hong Kong airport, the thing is that you never know, it depends of security officer: one day it’s fine, but the other day it won’t.
@@edwardfletcher7790 Ah - yes definitely room in the 111mm SAKs. Felix fitted a ferro rod too. It's just they are not legal everyday carry without good reason here in the UK due to blade size and lock.
I think you should revisit this video after a year and see how you feel. You dropped the tweezers even when you remembered they were there and remember the grime that builds up in the blade well? - not very hygenic for splinters. The Swiss Card is just a fathers day gadget, i'll say no more. Carrying a 58mm on your keyring offers so many more advantages, I prefer the Rambler on a lockable S-Biner for easy removal and a Pioneer, the most pocket friendly size Alox which still has enough substance to grip easily. If you plan on doing this, I'd buy plenty of tweezers in advance, I think you'll need them.
Haha! I did buy a pack of tweezers - but more to stash in my EDC kits ( as well aas alox knives). Ramble is a great companion to the Pioneer. I am just trying to provide options and encourage more ideas like this. I will definitely be re-visiting in the future - and I think I will get more used to rememebring I have stashed tools in the boddy of the alox SAK. The shrink sleeve defintiely helps....
The Alox, at least the one I have, is significantly harder to open than any of my regular ones. Oiling it and breaking it in helped some, by my wife just about cannot open it. Perhaps its a one off problem, but for that reason I prefer the Hiker.
Why not from Victorinox to offer the possibility to build your own Victorinox with your own needs ?, if the Alox serie had the corkscrew, I would buy it direct (just one example). 👍👍
I would love that facility... To design our perfect SAK would be worth paying double!! There are of course some great third-party SAK customisers. These tend to be expensive. But maybe worth it if you get exactly the tools that you want

Actually, you can customize freely on Taobao, from the tools inside to the scales on the outside. I customized a (Mini Champ), removed the small shovel and ruler, and laser engraved centimeters and inches on the back of the file. I also replaced the toothpick with a pen. If I could, I would love to show you all a photo!
I am that guy, I live in the Canadian Rockies, heat my house with wood, and hike a lot. I need the tweezers for splinters, and ticks! I have an alox farmerX and I never carry it..... I always carry the hunstmen. Just my 2 cents.
@jouzel8951 I have another video comparing the Huntsman to the Farmer X. I would always rather carry the Farmer X. And maybe one of these options (or having tweezers on your keychain) will work for you....?
@@jouzel8951 Even still, i find that the farmer x is the ultimate sak. Victorinox tweezers are ok for splinters but ticks are hard to pull out with them. I carry farmer x and leatherman supertool 300m every day. Great tool set combination on those two. Cheers
As much as I am a fan of Victorinox there tweezers are a weak link, If I carry a alox SAK I use the tweezers that were issued to U.S. troops. They are much more substantial, but still very compact. They come with a key ring attachment so you could actually attach them to the key ring if the model knife you choose has one.

Fantastic combination!!!!

I am not a fan of the eyelet for the split ring.... Felix Immler has a great video where he converts it to a tool for carving a wooden spoon!
Nice tip MB 🤝
@@SlipjointSawyer Thanks Matt.
The Swiss Army Seven pairs beautifully with the Swiss Card Lite which basically supplements all the tools that it doesn't have.
Excellent. I think I may need to get the Swiss Card lite. Currently I carry the Midnite Manager every day. But that doesn’t have tweezers 😂
Don't forget the tiny magnet to hold the Felix tool pack in.
That requires something for removal, but saves you losing them 👍
Great idea - I'll check that out!!!
I like Alox, but Cellidor is still my favorite. It just tastes better. Cool video with some good ideas!
