I've got about 20 victorinox tools and one thing that still amazes me the quality control they have. Not one issue, pull is always the same, finish the same, never any play or centering issues or anything. For that level of consistency the price is rather low even on these Alox models. I only carry the 93mm these days and they are probably the best that Victorinox has to offer, very stout feeling and I've never worried about the tool not preforming. Lately ive been carrying the Farmer X and one thing I have to say is that the reamer/awl used on these is the best one found on any multitool plus their scissors are top notch as well for the size.
I agree with much of what you've commented here. The awl blade is top notch, the consistency in quality is mind blowing. I've said Victorinox are the example for the level of quality control by which all other knife manufacturers should strive.
Unless if you get from Amazon some people in there bend the blades at times lol
I have many Victorinox knives but lately I found out the only way to get the perfect tool is to make it myself. So I took a Pioneer X and a Electrician apart and build my own Victorinox with mainblade, awl, scissors, caplifter and electrician blade. Now it is perfect but it was a lot of work to get it done.
@@masi-ji2pc it is the only way , soon they'll be coming to the UK blade less no blades even under 3" 2026
@@Mackle-b3oThats crazy and it will change nothing. I'm living in Switzerland. If it will be the same here I will take out the layer with the blade and exchange it with the saw. Because my custoum knives are all held together with screws and stainless pivots it takes only 10 minutes to get the blade out.
The SA7 is a personal favourite of mine! The pruner blade makes it great for use in the garden, great review John 🤘🏼🔥
It's a fantastic model. I still don't mind carrying my Pioneer X though. A great problem to have in deciding. Thanks, Slipster.
+1 to that. Any outdoorsy person should get value from this knife. The hawksbill is superb. I only wish there was a liner lock or something on the saw - had mine catch and kick back a few times. Otherwise my perfect pocket knife (I have several 😬)
I appreciate getting to learn more about SAK knives. I have a few classics, tinkerer & one that has the thumb drive & a tiny ball point pen. Thanks for sharing!! 😺⚔️👍🏻
Thanks Stacy, there's a SAK for everyone and every occasion it seems. Part of what makes them great.
My EDC is the Swiss Champ, in the front pocket of my jeans. Love it.
The Swiss Army 7 is my only Alox model, my very first. All SAKs are built to perform excellently, but this Alox model's build quality takes it up another level.
Congrats on the upload, cheers from tiny little Malta (Europe).
Thanks for having a look, Joseph. I very much agree with you. Good to have another European viewer. Much appreciated and have a great day.
Great Review TK. I was due to review this next.....will have to come up with something different. I always like the close-ups at the end....
Ahh shucks sorry to have interrupted your plans. Thanks, MB.
@@ThriftyKaniffy No worries - it happens a lot.... and I have something in mind. It is a cracking knife/multitool......
@MB_EDC Just cover it a few weeks later MB. We'll watch.
@@la_old_salt2241 I have done.... Tried to put a different take on it...
Another fantastic model from Victorinox…!
Fantastic review and walk around John…. Thanks brother..😎👊🏻
I think so too. I've got the Alox pox. Thanks for watching, Sean.
Very cool tool set on that one! Enjoyed the disco show! Something that I don't think gets mentioned enough is the fact that all tangs are sunken on Victorinox knives without any handle swell like a copperhead. Truly excellent knife design.
Yes very little popping out the channel. It makes for terrific comfort in use. Thanks, Eric.
It's a really nice knife! I'm diggin everything about it. Good job sharing it! Thank you!
Yes, a terrific Alox model. I really enjoy its tool set. Thanks for taking a look, David.
The pruning blade is neat, thanks for sharing this one, TK.
Thanks very much, Jose. The pruner is a great package opener. There's lots to like about this knife.
Nice SAK, I like the extra blade being a pruner. Would be a good knife for camping. Thanks for sharing TK, be safe.
Thanks very much, James. I think the pruner is just too cool. 100% it would make a great camping knife. Take care.
Looks like a well built knife, like all Swiss Army knives are. Thanks for sharing and God bless.
Another Alox model to really admire. Thanks Stan for all your support of the channel.
Nice! First time seeing this, the Farmer is a go to knife, but good see this offering nice options.
The Farmer is great too. Hard to go wrong, just find the one that meets your needs really. Thanks, G.
Nice, practical model. Love the Alox scales. Nice overall knife.
A wonderful Alox model and a great carry. Victorinox for the win. Thanks, Pocket.
Well said on the wire stripper/cutter! I'm a trained electrician and wouldn't dream of using it😂.
I've had my 7 not too long. It's my go-to knife when I'm gardening because it has everything.
Brilliant review, John 🫡 👊
Yes, I agree. I could see a modification of the notch that might make it more useful, but as it is, no. The 7 is a solid choice. I love the heft and precise feel it provides. Thanks, Martin.
When you showed that saw blade I could hear "Disco Inferno" playing in my head. Burn, baby, burn.😆The 7 is a knife I don't have in my collection yet, but I definitely want one.👍Yesterday my super SAK carry was a Farmer X. Thanks for the look at this one, buddy!
I get too much fun out of the reflecting serrations. Haha. Thanks, David.
I'd love to see a variant of the Bantam with the standard main blade and that pruning blade. That could be a handy little knife. Thanks TK.
Nice idea. Thanks, Salt.
@@ThriftyKaniffy My pleasure, maybe we'll see it one day.
Great review on the 7.
Superb
Thanks Rick, you're very kind.
Very cool sak. That looks handy
Another great Alox option, Jason. You gotta love the little pruner blade.
@@ThriftyKaniffy absolutely beautiful
A great SAK and an excellent video John~
Who had a disco ball?
@@RandysWSG Matt's knife storage drawers he bought were branded "discoballs". Weird and funny.
Victorinox Army 7 is my favorite
It's a great carry. One of my favorites as well. Thanks, Harris
Looks a nice toolset, perfect for a work knife or camping.
Cheers 🍻
An awesome Alox model. They feel so class in hand.
I love my Alox 7!! 😊
I think it's a real class knife. Very solid, precise feel to it. Thanks, Bees.
It's the best Alox model.Period. The feel, the ergos, also Alox models are meant for outdooors or/and more demanding jobs,so a saw instead of the scissors makes sence.
Thanks, Greek. You've got a point.
Thank you
You're welcome, Sameer.
Great job brother ❤
Thank you so much, ATB2, for your generosity in the GAW.
I love SAKs I only have one Aloxn(mini champ)
The Mini Champ is a great knife Kathleen. LOVE the Alox models.
First again!
You're on the ball Terrill. Thanks for tuning in.
@@ThriftyKaniffy sweet knife I have to get an Alox
