I relate to this so much. I’ve studied abroad for 3 years in France and including a year in Paris back in 2018 (going IESEG this fall) and I went through a very similar thing as you did. Studying abroad isn’t easy because you’re leaving your comfort zone and diving head first into a new environment. I’m so glad to see that you were able get out there and enjoy yourself.
I‘m going through the beginner bumps less than a month into my stay in Germany and this was so validating. I appreciated how honest you were that you’d wake up and cry but just decided to pursue the day nonetheless.
This candid and honest sharing is refreshing on UA-cam where the default position and posture is "Hey, I'm a you tuber and vlogger, look at my cool life which is one long joyous parteee" Good for you being brave and giving other young people a more realistic expectation of foreign travel and relocation.
