Congrats to your soon to be wife, I watched the vid, that was a trophy sized striper, I’m 100% positive that she must’ve been ecstatic reelin that striper in..🤙🏼🤙🏼..
Lose those rear trebles boys.. I run Cotton Cordell Redfins with just a tail flag on the rear. I leave either a belly treble or the single style replacement hooks. Most stripers I get grab the belly hook leaving that rear hook to dig into the belly or gill area. Come on we preach catch and release- at least make it a little less stressful on the fish.
100% agree with ya man let em go let em grow but not only that, less hook points to potentially end up in one of your fingers so not only safer for the fish safer for tbe angler as well.
John- absolutely agree with you on all points! On my 7' Redfins I use a trebble up front and a 5/0 dressed siwash w/hackles on back.. but I plan to try the plain flag on the back like you mentioned. Question if you dont mind, sir..?? Do you fish the 5' Redfins as well? It seems like barely anyone throws these anymore BUT they can take BIG fish. If so, what hook configuration do you use?
@@Disco_Fish1985 Good Morning Joseph, I do use the 5" varieties occasionally and the rear flag kind of Works. I also use a small "j" hook style arrangement for some. Being these lures are lite there isn't much That can be removed before they become difficult to cast. I use 30-50 LB braid for my standard set up so its overkill for the 5" variety. Have you tried loading the 7" Redfins? There are different scenarios from Filling with liquids like plain water, Oils, and my favorite is using Copper BBs. 10ccs of liquid seems to be the standard and when using BBs you experiment with different amounts 15 being the max I've found. I've always said the Cordell Redfin is a great lure even unloaded on top of being reasonably priced at just under $8 if you shop around. Best of Luck and tight lines.
Not sure if these fit in with your definition of minnow lures but ..... You should also consider the Shimano waxwing ... as it is a deadly lure for Stripers
Hey Guys! Thanks for another entertaining, informative and educational video. By the way, Bomber makes the Windcheater, not Rebel. You can find them for sale at Dick's Sporting Goods. Tight lines and keep up the good work.
They were originally made by Rebel. Eventually a company called PRADCO bought them and a bunch of other brands, including: Cotton Cordell, Creek Chub and Bomber. They then started marketing the Windcheater under the Bomber brand.
Any direction on modifying the mambo minnow with the broken lip? Is it a partial break or just remove it altogether? Any links on how to do this? Thanks in advance
@@williamwalsh6282 when using it for striper fishing i take the back treble hook off and upgrade the other hooks to gamakatsu size 6 round bend treble hooks.
Literally useless new! I tried to find out where the strippers migrate, what sizes and where and all this was about lures!!!??? Come on! Talk about this in your own time, just put some report about locations and migration, please!!!!!
Dude your. It hurt they didn’t give you a spot to fish fuck Man. He started out by saying dudes in jersey are slaying and lost spawn chesapeak bass are migrating north.
That’s my fiancé! I know her!! 😂😂 way to go Erica 🙏🏼🙏🏼
If you drew a cross over the center of Long Island, we talking like upper left quarter with that beast yea?

Haha I watched your video when you posted, I kinda thought it was her bass they were talking about congrats on joining the 50 club Erica
Last October I caught my personal best striper from the beach on an sp minnow. 47”
Love this series. Just getting me more and more stoked for late May!
Daiwa SP Minnows & Yo-Zuri Hydro Minnows have been helping me avoid the skunk
Yes I love minnow plugs. Bone 7 Red fin loaded 10cc fluid
Awesome, suggestions... show the plugs bags and more ... nice job

Dude out here in Cali the waxwing hammers the stripers you cant fish it fast enough whether you're deep or shallow
A lot of East coast guys haven’t gotten into them but they are missing out
The yozuri hydro minnow lc is a great lure caught my largest fish 48” bass
Top water plugs...fun in the sun!
The hogy or the AL gags paddle tail has been absolutely fantastic . Bone white cotton kordell plugs are striper candy
I stopped using bucktails because the paddle tails work so good.
Any size recommendations?
Try maple syrup to add weight it's very miscus and holds together in cool water

Do you guys have any info for the West coast area. Im from California. Have guys fished in California
We use xraps on stripers on the delaware river
Megabass vision 110 is my favorite

Yes and I heat the plastic lip with a
Hair dryer and bend it carefully downwards. This makes it run shallower if you prefer.
