Love it when Mildred finishes a sentence with "babyyyyy!" It's such a contagious and fun enthusiasm.
because of them I've done this in a classroom 😂
It has so utterly contaminated my cadence, and that of my nearest and dearest too as a result. It's a perfect tone-marker for conveying somewhat manic enthusiasm. :333
The Pig's blood joke killed me. That delivery was excellent. I died laughing, thanks!
Lucky, I wish I were dead
the acab jokes are fire every time, I'm always just not paying attention enough (it's not you it's my adhd) that they catch me off guard and I laugh so hard
LaCroix, Prince of all vampires.
And Isanbard Prince, punisher of the damned, ruler of the planet fire.
Nigel freaking owns
Total divoth
This isn't the video series we need, its the video series we deserve.
No. No, I need this.
We must have been very, very good last year
I remember this show and Lexx very fondly from my childhood. Im not Canadian and I have 0 clue how my north Norwegian family had access to so much Canadian media, but its good to connect somewhat to Canadian folks my age even though we had a whole ocean distance from us. Thank you Mildred for Forever Knight-a-thon, and for even the mere mention of Lexx
Lexx was partially produced in Germany. That may have helped it get some European distribution. I think Forever Knight was strictly Canadian though. I'm in the US but had access to lots of Canadian TV via old school C band satellite.
@@DerekPennycuffDefinitely caught some episodes of Forever Knight. In Tennessee, where we definitely weren't picking up any Canadian airwaves.
10/10 no notes. Also, my best friend in high school drove that same model of Cadillac (owned by his parents), we took it to youth symphony rehearsal every Saturday and it was luxury on wheels, right down to the 8- track player.
Ok but WHAT ABOUT THE TRUNK SPACE!!?!?
@@asmodiusjones9563 Absolutely as described. If today's cars had trunks that big, they'd be on AirBnB.
Was there enough trunk space?
I watched this on USA network back when it was the home of such winners as Silk Stalkings, Duckman, and Weird Science the Series. To this day the name LaCroix on those cans of water always make me think of the vampire.
Man, that was a blast from the past! Silk Stalking was the precursor to what South Park called informative murder porn (although fictional instead of true crime). Duckman was just strange, which is why I liked it. Weird Science was my jam back in the day.
All I want is to be written as extremely Vegeta coded in the biopic of my successful friends life.
Watched this a day early, because Lacoix he is my husband's favorite character.
My favorite part of Forever Knight is the high-key tension between Lacoix and Nick. Like they have for sure for sure F*****!
I am living for Lacroix. He's like oh look who thinks they're better than drinking a murder's blood, okay sure Officer thank you for your service 😂 so petty, he and the forever knight are like thrice divorced
The theme tune. The lighting. LaCroix. It's all pure perfection.
I love getting this much Scaredy Cats
It's bonkers really, gonna fix my patreon tommorow what a feast
Do I need to see a whole season recap of a whole season of a show I barely remember even hearing about in the 90's? No. Will I be here for every single one of them? Absolutely.
Ive never thought id need a video on some show i never watched, but fuck after a bad day i feed on this persons joy like some kinda.......not dead vital fluid taker
Just 22? No. We need the whole series.
This show is such a classic, and so forgotten by people for some reason.
Yeah I'm hoping he does the whole show because he can't just do Season 1 nah that's evil lol
I'm sure if we all show enthusiasm for this series, Mildred might just do the rest of the series.
He said it was a yearly thing, so presumably we get season 2 next January
@@Lurdiak Oh Ok , kind of a bummer it's a yearly thing but hey it gives up something to look forward to for the next 2 years
When the water became a thing, I pronounced it "l'qwah" because of this show. And was happy to tell people that was if they asked, which they did not.
Lexx!! I used to watch it all the time when I was a kid
did not expect this much homoeroticism and innuendo in a cop show about vampires, which in retrospect, is on me
I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Did you reference Lexx?! In a Forever Knight video?! Are you my favorite person ever? Yes. The answer is yes.
Most definitely so yes!
How have we not talked about how the theme songs feckin' SLAPS?
I saw the Lexx guy play a wholesome doorman in a Hallmark Christmas movie last year and I didn't know what to do and I kept expecting him to turn sexy evil but he never did :(
Whoo! i need to get my hands on this show. I'm reminded of both Kindred: the Embraced and Due South.
I saw Nigel Bennett as LaCroix first but since my husband has not seen FK I had to use the "But it's NOT oatmeal" example during yesterday's video ;)
Holy cow thank you for bringing those commercials to my attention... Hilarious
These are soooo much fun! I love that you are introducing FK to a new generation. It is still my favorite depiction of vampires to this day. I grew up with FK in the 90s and it was my first fandom and the reason I started video editing. A couple of my vids are on the season 3 dvd set and I am still passionate about it even trying to remaster it myself. I wish Sony would remaster FK. It would look amazing.
We seriously get a new one of these, every day, for another 20 days? I'll have a new Scaredy cats video for every day I'm recovering from my surgery!
I hope your recovery goes well
@@WAMTAT it should, I'm only having my tonsils removed, but from what I understand it sucks way worse if you get it done as an adult so idk lol
@@WAMTAT thank you!
This used to come on Scifi in the afternoons when I was a kid and totally really actually sick at home and not faking because American public school was a complete and utter waste of my time that completely overlooked me in the interests teaching to the back of the class. My feelings on the show were too many icky feelings and crud and not enough punching or explosions, but your enthusiasm is infectious. Thank you for sharing your passion with us.
Woot! Good to see the younger generation showing interest in this great series! You got me for the duration of this marathon.
When LaCroix whispers sexily and menacingly over the radio to Nick. What a fucking freak. I love him, haha.
I didn't know what deuteragonist was or means (until I looked it up), and while how you learned is pretty cool, I much more enjoy the use of the term "Vegeta-coded". Anyone who knows Dragon Ball (should) instantly understands what you mean.
Vegeta-coded has now been added to my personal dictionary. It instantly added context to what kind of character LaCroix is.
This is one of the shows my mom fuckin loved and as a result, I watched through syndication for years. It makes me so happy that other people loved it too.
The lighting in this show looks so fucking fun - I miss COLORS
This is a fantastic trip we are getting to take with you
I saw this series in the 90's. I can't believe I remember this.
It's a Lacroix darling !
I knew nothing of this series before yesterday, but i can tell it would have absolutely been my jam if i caught it on tv. Makes me wonder what other spooky shows ive missed out on
Mentally calculating how long into these videos before i go looking for the 90s fanfic that I suspect I will find if I just look at the right abandoned livejournal community...
What time. Excited to see more gels and spills (of blood)
I’m loving this. I’m a bit (a lot) behind but enjoy one a day.
I love the writing on this channel so fucking so much
Hey, ya know that cereal commercial in the beginning? Do you recognize the father? That's Chris Wiggins, and I remember him from Friday the 13th the Series, and there's an episode from S3 where they are directly battling each other and Nigel Bennet plays a resurrected n*zi soldier.
"Lacroix, Sweetie, Lacroix."
i loved this show growing up.
I didn't think you would follow through when you mentioned this show in passing. You are a true hero.
I didn't watch a lot of Lexx but I did have to immediately go listen to the opening credits song when it came up
YO WAY YOOO
You know, these first two videos were nice, but you wound up making this series sound so good, I'm just going to watch it myself first
Fun fact from the ancient times of early 90s Forever Knight online fandom: we all referred to Lacroix as “Uncle.” I absolutely do not remember why.
Hahaha lost media
There were enough fans of the show who chatted online that they had factions, mostly based on favorite characters and character couples. Those who liked (were attracted to iirc?) LaCroix were the Nunkies Anonymous, Nunkies being a cutesy name for Uncle.
@@dkecskes2199 Oh my god, I remember that now. And faction wars!
@@FredandGeorge Yeeessss! I got into it rather late to the party, so I only got to participate in the last one.
I can't believe I'm actually being sold on this show. I thought this was an ironic thing! I wasn't prepared to actually be interested!
Mannn I'm gonna be happy this whole month? Srs thank you
Best tv show on a 90s sick day
It's funny, the villain in the Vampire: The Masquerade game, Lacroix is the name of the high-class vampire villain.
As a long time LaCroix fan, I appreciate your stance.
I am already in love with this show. Thanks for working so hard to get these uploads out daily!
[Dies of being old enough to know what an answering machine is]
The most underappreciated villain of the past 30 years.
I've been considering LaCroix for a long time, waiting for him to get his day, or night....
and it has finally come.
Thank you good Sir or Madame, whichever you more feel at the time.
The stinger had me rolling. I'm so excited for the rest of this series.
I saw a couple episodes of this show at random as a kid and completely forgot about it until your video yesterday. I'm gonna have to track it down to actually see how the story unfolds.
I will watch every vidoe every day Mildo, I have never heard of this show before now but I'm here and I'm down
I remember watching this whole series in syndication on the sci-fi channel back in... god, Jr. High I think? I really liked it! Glad to see it still largely holds up!
I loved this show as well....whomever doesn't is just wrong.
IIRC, La Croix is called that name because that's the name Nick knows him by. They met in France (proto-France), when Lucien was going by that name. I do not think they ever give him a different name, but he might have lived in proto-France even back when he was alive during the Roman Empire.
This show, as part of vampire media in general, is a special interest, so I'm full of trivia like this.
MORE OF ALL OF YOU!!!
I MEAN THIS. MORE OF THIS.
This series makes me soooo happy
Honestly, I dig this series. I might seek the show out
I'm enjoying this video series a lot, but the people also demand a scaredy cats Lexx retrospective! (I am the people)
I've been low key obsessed with this show since I saw it on SciFi back in the day. Also, it's the reason that I can't pronounce the drink correctly, because LaCroix is the absolute best girl.
Also, Nicole De Boer's character is credited as Jeannie on IMDB 🤷♂
My parents absolutely loved this show! Thank you for doing this.
This video has it all: vampires, cool cars, homoeroticism, "jade"... And mentions Nat, The Mother Of Us All? * throws roses at Mildred's feet *
And Mob Psycho 100
Mildreds the literal best
You're going to make me actually look up this show and watch it
Oh no, I'm thoroughly LaCroix-pilled too now... dang that was easy.
I did watch a bit of Lexx as a kid, when some of it was played in SA, but I don't have strong enough memories to remember his character. As a huge nerd, tho, I have to say that I get a mix of Malcolm McDowell and Jon de Lancie from the LaCroix performance, and that is a High Praise in my house. So looking forward to more of this series!
Ok now all I want is Nigel Bennett and John de Lancie together in any scene, pretty pretty prettiest of please to all the positive powers of the Universe.
I did what you said and I've considered LaCroix.
I’ll admit I was sceptical last video, but your enthusiasm is kinda infectious. I gotta know more about these Toronto vamps!
Very thankful for the education In what looks like a facinating vampire police procedural lol
Thanks for doing this series! it was a guilty pleasure when it aired and i've always felt it was underappreciated. Plus they all look sooooooo Canadian. Even the ones who aren't.
Also love the cameo by the ROM before the AllSpark crashed into the side ;)
This entire video series is so fun. Literally new thing Im watching forever.
In the USA, we had a marathon on TV of these something like 15-20 years ago. I took advantage and saw a whole bunch of this fun show. Thanks for sharing it and putting a name to a faded memory!
Also, I like your channels in general, Mildred. Hope the best for you.
I loved Forever Knight! Nigel Bennett was in Darkman 3: DIE DARKMAN DIE! which I watched for the first time the other night. He was the #2 to the villain played by Jeff Fahey.
"LaCroix brought him across." Is that a pun
LaCroix was Spike, Eric Northman and Damon Salvatore before any of these guys 🔥🦇🩸
A brilliant series, thank you for your service.
thank you. i am amazing.
LaCroix be like: 🎶I ate the gaurd, but I didn't eat the homeless peeps.🎶
*hooting and hollering*
Oh yeah, I vaguely remember those Oatmeal Crisp commercials. And that's Chris Wiggens playing Nigel Bennett's father, isn't it? He played Jack Marshak in _Friday the 13th: The Series_ . He was also the voice behind a few villains in the '60s Spider-Man cartoon.
I have never seen this show, and you sold me on LaCroix in all of five seconds. If that.
I had to pause this I was laughing so hard.
Welp. New Vampire media for me to find a devour.
I definitely recognized LaCroix's actor, Nigel Bennet, from the show Lexx, which I absolutely loved for how absolutely bonkers it was, but I am neither cool nor do I f*ck, ESPECIALLY when these shows were still on air.
Babe thanks for this, my mental health needed something to cling to and this has more grip than those fun socks
I had no idea what my post holiday blues needed, then I saw this video and my life has never been more perfect.
Obviously, Mildred is 10000% correct about LaCroix and how much he absolutely owns.
Lmao "Vegeta-coded".
I am enjoying this series. Thank you.
The second time in two videos were Mildred implies that am "cool" and "fuck". My self-esteem is SOARING!
He's not NOT a lightly carbonated water beverage. I pronounced the seltzer like the vampire because I've been in this fandom the whole time.
“Interesting and engaging.” I think you mean “interegaging.”
*chef's kiss*
Oh. My. God. I had completely forgotten the name of the show Lexx. Thank you Milred for reminding me.
I'm so glad you're doing these. I loved this show in the '90s.
Oh so that's where the LA Prince's name comes from.
