Looks like something Mad Max would carry! 👍
Gas and Water wars? Yeah, we are legit about there sadly.
Yep, very Hollywoodish
I think a lot of people would like to see this with 6-8 round capacity for home defense.
8 in a cylinder? it would be pretty fat
Why are you laying surpressing fire? And or trying to destroy an entire wall?
each shotgun shell
has several rounds-worth
of projectiles so...
@@SB-qm5wgit would be cool though.
@@SB-qm5wg I mean, it's already the size of a short barrel shotgun. Just make it a mini street sweeper at this part so you can pump as many rounds into the group of home invaders as possible. Truth of the matter is I'd still prefer my 20g pump because it holds more rounds and is faster than thumbing the cylinder. This entire weapon is a gimmick compared to a shoulder-able 20g/12g. It's either this or I'll use my 30 rd mag suppressed 9mm. Then I can start cleaning the blood off the floors without ringing ears before damage sets in after the popo scrapes the dead body off the stairs.
If you accept it for its intended purpose and not its looks then this is not at all bad for home defence.
Yeah! Agreed! Great comment
Yep waaaaay more useful than a shotgun or a pistol.
@@aclark9869but... it's a shotgun and a pistol
@@jpeg7352 Exactly! Best of both.
It actually dont look bad in my opinion lol
Great video. 410 has been around as long as I can remember seeing them back home in Tennessee. But I've never seen anything like this before. My dad would love this gun.
The fudds at the range will go nuts over this.
😂😂the fudds and the hoods. Bruh this junt the ultimate hood car defense gun.
I can see the application, especially for smaller people who don't want to use a handgun.
@@AndyColglazier a smaller person would have a far harder time shooting this vs a standard sized polymer framed 9mm
@rabbitdaze2243 not necessarily. It's similar in concept to a PCC. A handgun is more difficult to shoot than a longer weapon with a forestock. Mount a light and a laser on it and it becomes a very shootable package.
@AndyColglazier it's garbage, stop trying to justify it
I don't know what a 410 shortage looks like. Years ago the 410 was the first thing I ever learned to reload. All you need is some gunpowder, some 209 primers and some common household items. If you're into bullet casting, 36 cal round balls (for the 1851 Colt) work fine as buckshot. This gun in particular looks like it lends itself well to hip-shooting. I'd slap a laser on it and have it zeroed for "across-the-room" distance.
My thoughts also. Looked awkward to aim. needs a laser sight, aim from the hip.
I'm right there with you. I'm reloading #8 shot and triple 0 buck. For the buckshot I'm using BX410 wad and load data from BPI.
Ammo shortage has been reduced to just our country. Lol my Mexican homies don't have any ammo shortage
Yep I would like to see a shoot quick from the hip , like in a hectic home defense situation result on those targets no Lazer no red dot pure scattergun !
Shotgun shell reloading in general is a good place to start. I got started loading pumpkin balls into pre primed hulls. Very easy.
Thanks for doing a video on this! There's a lot of love / hate buzz online about it. Me, I've lived without a Judge so far, think I i can survive without this.
I always thought the 410 pistols were nothing more than a novelty or range toy. I have to admit that looks awesome.
They had a prototype 28 Guage that thing was sexy
Man, if .410 shells are hard to come by, can you imagine finding .28 gauge?@@brettkelly5894
Your first gut instinct is usually the correct one
That's because they are nothing more then a novelty
410 isnt the ideal defensive round compared to what you could be using for sure.
My 60 y.o. wife has had a Judge as her EDC since 2005.
She’s a legend
My wife likes mine as well !! COOL !!
Your wife sleeps with a judge and you are good with it?
What is her favorite load brand
That's a great backpack gun as well as home defence. If for any reason your truck breaks down, some shady characters show up at your campsite, a black bear is following you, snakes, skunks, etc. I like it. #4 shot would be devistating to intruders at close range.
Or if a Skinwalker calls your name from the darkness....
Perfect for putting your ex in thier place.
The shadiest characters I've ever met at a campsite have been gun toting Trump supporters like proud boys and the like. Anyone worried about gun owning leftists like myself or the ever-elusive bad guy with a gun that is perfectly set up to be.... John McClain'd by your ass is so paranoid to carry a gun in the first place
@@RuffAndTufffez incell lbs 😅😂
A skunk? Never shoot a skunk. Just relax and they will walk off when they notice you're there. The smell from blasting a skunk will ruin your campsite.
Lunch??? Just say when and where!
I also appreciate the video, facts, no dramatic statements, no click bait teasers. Thank you for that.
Thanks for the informative demo as always Patrick.
People used to make fun of me for buying a Taurus when I got my Raging Bull 44mag about 15 years ago.. look at Taurus now.
And they still do lol
They just keep better all the time.
I’m glad to see they’ve done something useful about cylinder blast. ☝🏻
Awesome, wouldn't mind having one, thanks for posting!
"KEEP ON KEEPIN ON"
I've had a circuit judge for about 12 years now, and my only regret is not buying 2 of them when they were only $500 back then.
I feel you. I carry a public defender in the woods and I've been eyeing a circuit judge for the range for a long time. I should've bought one when I first wanted one. They're so expensive now.
Already own a Judge, but would really like to add this to my collection.
Good idea, for home defence. More maneuverable in enclosed space than the circuit judge, and I would think with that foreword grip more stable than a pistol, for people with less upper body strength. Basically, it's a carbine without the shoulder stock, I'd get one.
Totally Agree
And it doesn't have the strong recoil of a 12ga shotgun, let's agree that a 12ga without a stock and with a short barrel is very uncomfortable to shoot and requires a lot of practice, at least in .410 the recoil is "softer".
NICE. Taurus making moves! This makes sense for home defense- smaller than a shotty but still packs stopping punch!
Thanks! Just what I needed.
this gun may not be as deadly as a 12 ga. but that 9 shot(4thtarget)pattern will put a hurtin on some perp breaking in, especially a head or close to it. that is a neat looking weapon.
I have to admit that I want one of these. Why does almost every gun reviewed insist on only shooting a defensive revolver in single action?
In this case he wants to showcase how the ammo performs on target, not how fast he can shoot the gun.
Shot mine for the first time yesterday and loved it
Hello 👋 my firearms friend, thank you for sharing this informative video. That's an intriguing firearm. 😊
Ok Taurus you've come this far with the judge, so now can you come up with a mag fed semi auto version of this please 😁
Mechanistically I feel like it would become a jam-o-matic
Yeah I want a semi auto 410 pistol. I don't care whatever whoever says about whatever, it's 2023. We're advanced enough at this point to make it happen. Does it have any practical applications? No. Do I want it? Hell yes, with extended mags and a switch, please.
The mag would definitely have to be outside of the grip.
@@armedpreacher or they could model it after the iwi talvor 12 gauge and keep somewhat of a revolver look to it and make it semi Auto with a rotary mag🤷
@@stansturdevant4306 yes I agree! But that would still be a magazine outside of the grip lol
You read my mind when i was thinking "dang where did they get all that .410?"
I have a Judge of some type. I think I was able to 'hoard' one box of .45LC, and four boxes of .410. Before I ran out of money lol.
I was buying federal #7 1/2 target for $7.50 a box just before covid from Wal-Mart. Each week, I'd get a couple. Collected 800 rounds and called it a day. Lol
That looks like the most fun skeet shooting thing I've ever seen
My local canadian tire has had 410 lately. Last week I got 2 boxes of slugs. I was getting the triple threat defence rounds. And stalked up on some shatter shots just as covid started.
Good video, I wouldn't buy one, but it looks like it'll certainly do the trick for home defense.
If I were ever to buy one of these short home -D shot guns it would be that one. But for now I'll stick with my .357, .40, 9mm, .380, or my own home built 12ga. Mossberg Tactical 500.
Amazing video!!!!! Thx !!!! plz make more !!!
Thank you, learned something today
They need to keep going and add the 454 casull and maybe the SW 460.
Bro! One strong enough to handle the .460 pressures would be freakin sweet!
Perfect home defense
Nice. I have trouble getting my governor kicking out the spent shells. 2 and 1/2 shells. I like this. GOT ONE ORDERED
Good review here. This gun is not for me for a few reasons, but I like this guy talking about guns.
This will be amazing with gauge adapters allowing for use of many different types of ammo. Great for hunting or apocalypse situations. You could have adapters for a rifle round for big game and adapters for .22 caliber for small game. Then 9mm or the 410 buckshot for self defense
.410 is the hardest shot shell to find to buy it’s like hens teeth in south Texas
What rifle round can be chambered and fired in a 3” chamber adapter? You’ll have like 1/4” for a barrel length max.
This is the very very last gun I’d ever hunt anything with.
@@rustyshakelford9777not here in Philly
It looks like the trail gun I've been looking for. An all arounder, not super perfect for anything, but highly versatile, with revolver reliability. I wish it had more capacity, or took acp clips. But at least the 13" barrel will allow the long colt 45 to develop proper muzzle energy.
I like the Judge in its different styles, but that’s way cool- it reminds me of Josh Randall’s lever action short barrel rifle on “Wanted:Dead or Alive”
You can buy the Wanted Dead or Alive gun from Henry. It's classified as a long barrel pistol. Josh carries a cut down rifle and the bullets in the belt are too large for the gun he carries. WDOA NERD Henry calls it a Mares Leg.
Great video!!! Thank you!!
Love my circuit judge great gun holds 5 extra round in the stock if you can get your hands on one I recommend it I use it as my 4-wheeler gun
Something about it reminds me of a Thompson Center pistol.
if I was able to buy one in Canada, I certainly would, love the innovation by Taurus with this revolver
You should move to a free country
easier said than done in my situation@@slkknifelover
In my county we don't ban books and very practical short barreled shotguns are legal.
*mic drop* @@slkknifelover
Fantastic test. Now I have fait in the .410 spread
Fun looking rat and snake gun. Might get one to put in a scabbard on my tractor and replace my 410 derringer.
So basically this is a rotary version of a 410 Mossberg Shockwave
No. This has a rifled barrel so it can be legally sold as a pistol, and not a short barrel shotgun, which is an NFA item. The shockwave is a smooth bore with a birds head grip, so it can be sold as a "firearm" and not a short barrel shotgun. The shockwave is closer to a shotgun and this is closer to worthless.
@@bobjohnson1633if they made it 20 gauge wouldn’t be any better?
That would be one huge cylinder , not to mention the recoil in a pistol.@@MrDoverfield
@@rebelwolf72 I thought it be would recoil less than the 12 gauge aows out there. Taurus did plan on making a revolver in 28 gauge with a smooth bore
@@bobjohnson1633 depends on how you use it.
If they make a raging judge magnum version I’ll buy it because that would be a fun little range toy
Thats what i wanna see!
@@chrism4008 right? Imagine having one that chambers 454 Casull!
now I know what I want for Christmas.
I am a man who love revolving rifle. It is so cool!
That's nice. Now chamber it for .223 Rem. Taurus made a .223 revolver in the past.
For a few hundred dollars more you could do the magnum research BFR in 410/45lc with a ten inch barrel. I want Taurus to re-release their more interesting revolver calibers like 22 hornet
No rails or forward grip on a BFR. Not meant to be fired the same way, that's a traditional revolver where this is meant to be used more like a Mossberg Shockwave.
I have the circut judge. Love it!!!
So me and the wife recently got the circuit judges, which shoots the 45LC and the .410 shotgun shell. Not sure what it was about these shells but the hammer con-caved the surface after striking the primer. These were fiochii ( not cheap but available). Then by the 3rd The cylinder wouldn’t cycle and they all had to be pried or forced out. Is there a specific or favorite of the .410?
Nice gun. Is it also available with real wood ? I feel like there should be a sling mount on it
I’ve always wanted to buy a judge or Governor. I have no need for one but this example feels like an excellent truck gun!
Oh that is a perfect defense gun yup love that one for sure
Nice little gun. Thanks
Put a laser sight on it, and it would be an excellent home defense gun. Compact enough to stash anywhere, and even if you can't get both hands on it or sight down the barrel, the laser tells you where it will hit. #4 shot for the first round, fired in haste, followed by buckshot.
lmao. no.
Just my opinion, but I wouldn't go that route. Shooting off laser sights alone is inaccurate. As far as I know, it's much more often used for intimidation than actual aim. I'm not saying this to sound contrary. I thought the same way. Had a laser sight on my 1911, thought I'd pull and shoot from the hip. Some range time later, I found it was impractical. With practice I could shoot from the hip but didn't need the laser sight, and the extra mechanism thew off my finer aim. Everyone is different, but I don't see laser sight on guns for the better shooters I know. (This isn't talking about military usage, which is a completely different animal). Also having one shot be different from the rest would throw off your shooting rhythm.
In my opinion, it's not a particularly practical gun, but if I were using it for home defense (which it might be good as it's less likely to go through your house with as much force on a miss), I'd just keep all the rounds the same and practice extensively. When the draw and fire is well practiced, it'll be just as quick as any laser sight will offer, with better control and follow up, in my opinion.
Lasers are for new gun owners who haven't learned anything yet 😅
@@SzymczykProductions So every US Soldier with a PEQ equipped is a new gun owner that hasnt learned anything yet?
That is a good selling point for a laser and buck shot! it is a night gun for a new bie. not a gun range nut.
The problem I live in Southeast Missouri and I have not seen a 410 shell anywhere in over a year you can get 45 Long Colt they're like a $1.65 a piece they're about 75 bucks a box you just can't get ammo
Wisconsin 410 very hard to find. When do $25 a box and up.
@@anthonythorp7291 Dunham's sports in poplar bluff Missouri had some $75 a box 🤮
I bought the Rossi TUFFY a few years ago. And about 300 rds of 2.5" and 3" 000 Buck & #4 shot.
An old idea, with a new lease on life. I'd rather see one in 28 gauge, but until then the 410 is nice.
Hey man, nice shot !!!
Getting one for rabbit hunting. I use a 410 encore single shot. Nice to have more shots!!
Very controllable thus can be aimed well and hit where intended unlike shockwave or similar that kick a lot more.
Well designed and something I would love to add to my collection.
Easily stored in backpack and can be used for protection from array of threats.
On those days where you don't want the rifle but something bigger than a pistol or regular revolver.
Those days??? Like when you want something even if you don't really need it. I have a cabinet full of those days things.
45 long colt ?
Seen hickock.45 hit steel at more than 50-75 yards with a shockwave(mini shells)with nothing but a crimsom laser grip , so they can be accurate
shockwave is perfectly controllable if you know how to shoot it
It would be interesting to compare patterns between this and the regular Judge.
Oh boy, I gotta get my hands on this.
You did an OUTSTANDING job reviewing this gun. Not something I'm in the market for, but having seen what it can do, I do want one.
But honestly, I'd rather have the Rossi Circuit Judge.
Great job.
If it's anything like the circuit judge the trigger will be criminally underrated (just my experience with circuit judges and the judge family so far)
Really nice revolver/shotgun
Looks like a very handy home protection gun. Using buck shot will definitely do the job. Can be useful for small game hunting too. Wonder how much it is.
this might be worth considering if you can find ammo(i haven't seen any in the stores). So,there are better clubs available.
IDK Last gun show I was at 04/2023 every table selling ammo had at least 1 type of 410 shells little pricey but it was there cause I bought some. 3/4 years ago it was lot harder to come by any where. I've been using 410 for last 50 years love it.
BUT I REALLY LIKE GUNS 😍😁
I really wish they would make a Circuit Raging Judge in .454
I have no use for .410
Don't know right now, but as a kid. U could get a 410slug and they will bring about death...
@@bill7956 Pretty sure 45 long colt brings death just as good.
Good bedside buddy. Reliable, easy to handle, perfect for home defense.
When found, 410 ammo is about $45.00 for FIVE f'n shells in some stores. I almost bought a regular judge a few years back untill I started looking for the ammo.
😮
Definitely different. Shooting those is harder than people think, the Shockwave was repetition for mastery. People will buy it.
Crimson grip laser and it's accurate as all get out, Hickock45 was banging steel from over 50 yards effortlessly
How much riffing in the barrel ?
well done making note
of the BLAST SHIELD... rt side
on the frame and left on the crane?
wonder if theres a speed loader?
I always wondered how the Judges would shoot with the 45 Colt load. There’s a pretty good jump to the lands especially on the 3” 410 model. I’d like to see someone shoot them at 25 yards or a little further.
I have a circuit judge and you can hit targets out to 100+ meters with the 45 colt. Fun gun, my favorite to shoot in my tiny tiny collection.
Its quite accurate with .45 lc
I was surprised at how accurate my 3”x 3” is with .45 Colt. It IS a long way to the forcing cone and I figured that it would handicap it. I carry it for a farm gun sometimes and I can hit a transient goose in the head from 15 yards every time with LeverEvolutions.
I don’t carry it much anymore because .410 and .45Colt are too expensive, and I just use my Glock 44 or S&W Airweight in .38 instead.
I’ve shot 3 different judges and they have all been surprisingly accurate with .45 LC. As long as you get a good judge, it will do it’s part.
the regular judge with 3" barrel is surprisingly accurate with the 45LC, it shoots just as a well as any normal revolver
I live in brooklyn NY. Ive seen people smoking crack around the corner from where I live but I've also walked home drunk, left my door open and even forgot to lock my car door with no consequences. I've never had or felt the need for a gun. But if I lived in rural america with you yahoos, I would absolutely buy that hammer. Where you stand is where you're gonna fall... especially with those first two loads.
If your house hasn't burned down, do you see the need for a fire extinguisher?
Same idea.
we will await your obituary.
Is it possible to temove the fore grip? I love the long barrel but i dont plan on holding it like a rifle.
Put the Olight Sigard afg light on it and either a holographic, red dot, or laser on top and load it with 3" pdx rounds. They also make 410 speed loaders for the Taurus judge variants...
Should have named it the get off my lawn gun.
Nice looking gun for home defense ❤
I want one of these and a circuit judge.
I have two questions...
1. What's the velocity? Is it comparable to a standard 18" barrel?
2. The ATF nixed the original XXVIII (28 ga) version of the Judge... might it be legal in this configuration?
Well designed concept home defense gun. I applaud Taurus for designing and making this for market.
It’s bigger than most shotguns handguns but probably easier to aim😊
Bigger than most shotguns?
Have a single Barreled owned since saw ten. Shootin 45 longs outta it. Hawg huntin .
The deflector is a good idea. Basically solves the last problem the cylinder style has when in long gun confuguration. Especially since one doesnt have to worry about the issue of the other rounds cooking off & blowing up like the old ones had.
Would love to have one but being that 410 ammo is almost impossible to get, why purchase if you can’t use it?
@MrSlingblade69 It also shoots .45 Colt.
Well, presumably .410 won't permanently be impossible to get, plus you can shoot .45 Colt with it in the meantime.
Reloading shotshells is easy. Much easier than loading brass. Most quality plastic hulls can be reloaded a dozen times. You can even buy pre primed hulls and cast your own 000 buckshot balls.
Awesome Taurus
Great looking snake charmer. I’m interested.
I love this gun!
I think it is cool and I would like to have one. I think it would work for home defense. However I think that there are far better options for home defense. I cannot think of any purpose that this firearm might have that would not be better performed by another option. Again, I like it and would like to have one but that is because I am a gun enthusiast not because I think it fills any role particularly well.
The best gun for any particular instance is the gun you have in hand, cocked and fully loaded.
do you wear flannel?.
I have a home defense cannon at the top of the stairs
@@davidmoore3479: Passive-aggressive comments like yours only serve to reveal your own weakness.
I can poke this around the corner and not miss, that's what this is good for
For years I've said a design like this would be perfect for home defense. I'd add iron sights as well as offer slightly shorter barrel. Awesome for female shooters
Yeahhhhhh when you chop the barrel down you lose velocity from both calibers ......those 2 inch judges are an even bigger gimmick then this thing is
This is an awesome design.
This looks sick
I been going back n forth with taurus for 4 months over a simple rebate issue. Only phone calls back and forth, they don't have email. I will never be purchasing another firearm from them. Couldn't imagine the service I would receive if I had a serious issue that needed swift resolution. Absolutely ridiculous.
Taurus is on that list of guns I’ll buy used if I can shoot it first. Never by new list. Keltec is on that list also.
@erroneous6947 it's honestly too bad because I do enjoy their firearms, but the customer service model ruins it especially with no email communications at all
My 12g shockwave is badass and very useful in short range
Got one in 410. Never fired it.
So Tarus has come out with their version of the Ranchero/ El Camino gun. No stock to help in sighting and a long barrel that negates the pistol grip for easy of use. But it looks cool so I guess it will sale.
is it 50 bmg that also fits perfectly in a 410? but likely need to be a break action rifle due to length, I seen Garand Thumb do a vid
This came out at a great time. My dad had been looking for a short home defense shotgun, but he has a messed up shoulder. I suggested the mossberg 590s for the mini shells, as you could get more in the tube. However hes afraid the recoil will still be too much. I just so started to look at 410 shotguns then Taurus drops this gem.
A .410 shotgun is an utterly stupid home defense weapon.
410 hd gun is lame. Get him an M&p 5.7 if recoil is an issue. Bunches of rounds, reliable, soft recoiling.
@@paulh6101 Pistol calibers isn't a problem, it's taking the recoil from a shotgun that is shouldered thats giving him a issues. Just shouldering most shotguns was a struggle.
@@seeingimages You willing to take 5 rounds of it to test it out?
The .410 for defense only makes sense loaded with 000 buck. 3" shells hold 5 pellets, 2 1/2" shell holds 4. The federal flight control load is the best variety by far. I would consider each pellet to be roughly the equivalent of a .380 auto fmj bullet, highly effective! Other .410 loads do indeed pretty much suck for defensive purposes, certainly compared to 000 buck.
