- We're taking you to the highest point in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park - Clingmans Dome! Standing at 6,644 feet of elevation, it's also the highest point in all of Tennessee. It's a clear day so get ready to see sweeping 360 degree views of the beautiful surrounding mountains! In this video, we're also hiking a beautiful forest trail to Andrews Bald, and we leave right from the Clingmans Dome parking lot. It's windy, so hold on to your hats!

Again, love your videos, which bring back great memory of my deceased wife and me doing this when we were your age, but 50 yrs ago. We too went to Andrew's bald.
Andrew's Bald is a nice little hike right near Clingman's Dome. There's so many great place to see in SMNP. We hope you get to go back and do some of the hikes again. I'm sure she would be so happy to see you enjoying the trails. ❤️❤️❤️

The great smokey mountains are so beautiful! I think I am going to be able to head there later this year. But Clingmans Dome looks amazing, I hadn't seen the views from the top before as I haven't been there yet. Great video!
Thanks so much Meaghan! 😊 Smoky Mountain National Park is so beautiful! If you're heading there later this year, it will definitely be super COLD. Also since Clingmans Dome is the highest point in the park it will be icy so they've already closed the road to get there FYI! Lots of other beautiful parts open though like Alum Cave up to Mount LeConte. Enjoy!
Not trying to start a fight, but I thought Mt. Mitchel was the highest point at 6,684 feet above sea level. The Smokey Mountains are a pleasure to hike. Love it all.
Great observation and yes Mt Mitchell is certainly high up there! From what we've found online, Clingmans Dome is the tallest point in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. It's true that Mt Mitchell is taller than Clingmans Dome, however it's in Mt Mitchell State Park, which is east of the national park. :)

Seems like you are just staying along the main road from Cherokee, NC to Gatlinburg. Ever been to Cades Cove or the Cosby area?
Hi Brian! Yep, we primarily stayed along the main road on this trip, but have visited Cades Cove in the past. We'd love to go there again, but we feel it deserves its own trip with exploring the wildlife and backpacking. Which is the Cosby area?
