I could certainly see the latter happening sooner than the former to be fair.
They always go cheap. They take the Roms and release them. They don’t add cool stuff like an arranged soundtrack cd quality vocals etc etc
I like the slow moves. Gives it a lot of impact.
Agreed
Me too
they sound so satisfying
It balances things out for the addition of Samurai Showdown characters
It reminds me of Ryu's Shin Shoryuken in SF3, it has more definition of being felt

Man, I need my glasses for this one.
🤓
Some additional things about the early console ports. The transparency effects can be disabled by changing the graphics setting from "normal" to "arcade". The OG XBOX ver. does have the Red Arremer and Athena transformations. The OG XBOX ver. have a different announcer from both the arcade and PS2 ver. of the game, he sound very similar to the NEO-GEO Battle Coliseum announcer. I also tested the supposed changes listed in the article from Tips and Tricks. Kyo can 1000% still juggle from qcf+K,K into Orochi Nagi, Geese can 1000% still do more than 4 loops of his infinite I'm guessing the tester at the time didn't have a better pad or stick because I tried it on an XBOX controller S and had trouble doing it at all but switched to a stick and got 5 loops pretty quick. That Earthquake special move looks the same to me and I didn't learn Zero's infinite well enough to test if its actually harder.
The same problem with Cacpom Fighting Collection I waited for years to get a fully complete edition of Darkstalkers 3 to steam with the PS1, PS2 and PSP extras, but they gave us arcade version with less characters no extra modes, it's sad but the PS1 version is the most complete, even nowadays with original character mode, extra option mode, ending gallery, system change mode, and all the characters in every single system change mode, the ps2 version had one extra secret character called Dee and the PSP has an alternative mode and extra stage, but neither PS2 or PSP got all the stuff the PS1 version had, it's just sad to know that the best version of a game released several times is in 1997.
It's weird how they didn't just added all that in one game at the end
Do you not realise that the reason console versions back in the day received more content was due to the port not being arcade perfect? Companies had to give you extra. Players like myself back then wanted arcade perfect ports over lots of extras.
As for PS1 Darkstalkers, it's not "complete". It's missing frames, animations, and it has loading times. Why would Capcom put that into a pack?
@@markg5480 I don't know about game engines but how the ps1 version rom that is over 20x bigger file than the CPS2 file could be worse and has less frames? I also don't know about pixel perfect and stuff but for me casual player, the ps1 version plays exactly like the arcade version in gameplay and animation.
@@rukayuki6332 That's exactly the point I consider most of PS1 ports of capcom 95% faithful to their arcade versions in gameplay and we casual players don't even notice that diference most of the time, the darkstalkers 3 had 3 arcade versions, vampire savior, savior 2 and hunter 2 and those 3 are missing 3 characters in each one the ps1 had those 3 versions in one game with all the missing characters, and for me is unbelievable that capcom would put the missing characters versions instead a more complete version, also the loading argument doesn't work since that apply only in PS1 hardware, even the PS1 emulation has no loading screen time, it just appear and disappear and doesn't last 30 seconds like it was on PS1 hardware. Most fans are casual and not competitive pro players, so the basic is to give all the extras we wanted.
PS2 version is probably overall the best version. It has hidden modes/options, huge art gallery, Dee, the arcade versions of every game in the series, plus you can unlock the complete roster in Vampire Saviour/Hunter-effectively turning them into Darkstalkers 3.
I'd really like to know what is it with PS2 ports of SNK games having colour edit and subsequent modern versions losing it. That and the fact the original port had survival mode and the new one doesn't baffles me... I don't like it when a fighting game only has arcade and training and calls it a day, I hardly play online.
sometimes changes are good and other things aren't. I think cause the 2024 release focused on the arcade version which did not have survival so it went unnoticed.
@@AcidGlow Yeah that's one thing that's gotten me tired of arcade ports, just having versions that lack content of the console releases feels cheap. It's why I worry that if we do get a Capcom Vs SNK collection that Capcom will just choose the arcade versions and we won't get half the content.
Color edit in 2024 would be so much more fun nowadays too because you could show off your creations
@@AcidGlowArcade and AES (which is why we got AES’s training mode specifically).
@@Original_Katros”Lacking content of the console releases”, but this version is based partially on a console release, AES (and also PS2/Xbox to a lesser extent with its hidden character selection method).
The Steam version is a direct port of the arcade game running on AES mode (a.k.a console mode). That's why it only has 4 continues and has barebones practice options.
So we got a worse version?
@@RigbyIsTheMan Most re-released arcade games are just emulation nowadays.
The new MVC Collection will be arcade version emulation as well.
Why not the PS2/Xbox versions?
@@Monhamd1000 Because they're lazy. It's easier to just emulate the arcade version than port from consoles.
Even confusing is that there's no visible credit counter. If they are going to do it right, make sure unlimited continues are a thing before removing the credit counter. That's how it worked in Pulstar's and Blazing Star's AES modes.
I still have to wonder why it was Xbox exclusive in the US, considering Europe did get a PS2 version.
Sony of America was anti 2D back then so games had to sell in bundles like KOF 02/03 or not at all
Sony America has a restriction to only sprite based games that werent part of a collection so was imposible to release the game in USA
Sony Europe never had these problems so publishing the game there never was an issue
@Rei_Tatekei i hated scea for that
@@felixcruz5556 I hate that Sony's policy slightly ruined the 32 bit era, it should have been a time full of amazing 2D sprite work that probably would have still held up today, as well as 3D games, but because of that policy we have a vast amount of games with very poor 3D graphics from that era instead that, while impressive at the time, look absolutely awful now, some of them still look decent and a lot still play well, but we could have had so many more fantastic 2D games too, I feel like they forced the home console market in to almost exclusively 3D games far too soon
@@hammond8692 my point exactly.
Yeah I am kinda sick of the arcade versions of games being re-released without the console content.
Same here.. they was too lazy to add stuff
Even the data files for the steam version is the exact neo geo rom content from the chipsets
Yeah. Last great fighting game port was Street Fighter 3 Online Edition.
@@TrueBlueMajikDewdyou should check Guilty Gear XX Accent Core +R. It's the last decent fg port for modern system with a tons of contents and improvements.
Also MvC Collection is on the way, I hope Capcom doing it well for this.
Can you give me more examples?
Genuine questions
Yeah, is very stupid that the current re-release has the game on NeoGeo AES mode (and AES version of the game has 4 credits... ONE that must be used to start to play, the other 3 are for continues... the worst part of this is the fact that the credits remaining are hidden compared to the original NeoGeo AES release.
Edit: There's a SECOND unique difference between OG Xbox vs all other releases... a different system voice (probably the one from NeoGeo Battle Coliseum).
I hate to say it but the Steam release is pretty inferior.
all it's really missing is survival mode and color edit. 2024 has online while the older versions cannot be played online (as easy). I'm just glad it's available to a wider audience now.
Agreed
@@AcidGlow well Xbox version got Xbox Live for that and with Insignia being a thing nowadays, people can play the console ports online with Xemu emulator with insignia installed.
0:43 That's in the PAL regions. The Japanese PS2 port displays "2003" instead, as the arcade, Neo Geo and Japanese PS2 versions all came out on the same year.
Steam version in a nutshell: A f*cking ROM in a f*cking emulator
Except the emulator version has unlimited continues
@@prodbyhostileplayed in AES you only get 4 continues.
@@prodbyhostileneogeo games have 2 modes in every emulator. Mvs and aes. Mvs is arcade aes is home conversion. I prefer aes because you got proper menus, settings and extra modes. Downside is only 4 continues
@@usernameRika But you get to save the game. Whenever you load your game, your continues revert to four, so you have unlimited continues, in practice.
Thats pretty much what code mystics develops, an all round emulator, they dont even touch the game ROM
Glad I still got mine original copy xbox
You got some $$ there
You lucky my bro take care that gem
Damn dude, you really love this game, lol. I'm a SNK maniac but even though I like it, the flaws made me drop it really quick hahaha
I like this and art of fighting 2. NGBC is alright but not a fan of the roster or game speed
What is a good snk game to get for steam, KOF 13?
@@doomedspacemarine5076 That is a good start, yeah. Or KOFs 98 / 2002 UM
2:55 Like the PS4 port of Fatal Fury: Mark of the Wolves, I believe you must press the Confirm button to continue or the Cancel button to subtract one second from the continue countdown.
Used to play the PS2 version a ton back in the day, interesting to see it had surprisingly many differences from the arcade original. The 2024 port seems to also have noticeable input lag, at least on the Switch. Don’t have a real way to test it and not sure if Steam or PS4 have the same issue, but it feels a lot less responsive than before.
Yet another example of superior home console releases being tossed aside for arcade versions. This is why I skipped on Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection. I still support this game regardless, but I ain't gonna be blind to the facts. I just hope that if Neo Geo Battle Colosseum get a new port, they'll choose the HD remastered games from 360/PS3.
Same here those 3d stages areawesome
Nah the Atomiswave versions had way better backgrounds. Those generic 3D things they added are meh.
Only thing they would have to fix are the long loading times from the arcade.
There was other versions of battle colosseum besides the arcade and ps2 versions?
@@TheTrueBroWrong.
I fully understand that 🙏🏾
The move list in PS2 seemed so much better, the art gallery was rocking, but the 2024 art gallery playing Ryu's anime hadouken theme was awesome.
It seems to me that the Steam version is actually the Arcade version. The lack of extra content, absent Survival mode, the Gallery is outside of the actual game and Limited credits just like the AES Neogeo settings ...
Steam = Arcade (What a rip off)
Yes it is 🤷🏾♀️ I wonder why they just didn't do the PS2 version
@@jeremyhall2727 probably lost/deleted the source code, typical of japanese game companies as usual 🤦♂
@@MrDmoney156 I don't believe it.. they always say that.
Eh, I take it. Beter for it to be available as this, rather than being locked on Arcades and old consoles.
They sold us A ROM WITH NO CHANGES. I'm gonna stay with fightcade fuck this
😂 they did the most laziest thing they could.
We're forced to play the AES version which is why we only have 4 credits
@@KimSamaVideosand the game is already hard to pass with 3 coins for me thats imposible
@@jeremyhall2727its not lazy only thing missing is survival and color edit they more than likely dont have the source code for the ps2/xbox port
@@sammyramirez6869 No it's lazy.. they could ported the PS2 version. Emulate it like how they didn't for this version. Yeah 🤣 don't have it huh.
If this was 2002 people would be more upset that the port isn’t Arcade faithful.
Swings and roundabouts.
Mmmhh idk maybe cuz this lacks content from the console release? It also looks worse somehow
To me it's fine. I wanted online features, if they had no online then I would not have bought it. I would really want a balance patch though.
@@Xerzene I just think it’s pretty funny is all. I remember when this game first released in 2003, and the biggest issue at the time was that it was not an arcade perfect adaption. It was something that plagued so many console releases at that time.
It’s far less of an issue today because arcades have been on the wane since the onset of certain social events.
I bought the game brand new for Xbox anyway because I didn’t care about the Arcade accuracy, I just thought it was cool that there were SNK and Capcom characters fighting each other.
I should note that while I am a little sad that the Color Edit and Survival Mode were not included, I’m at least grateful they cared enough about the game to give us additional options to preserve it.
That was usally a complain regarding performance and graphics, but ever since the 3DO and SSF2T, arcade-perfect ports of 2D games have been possible.
Besides, the PS2 port does include the option to make the graphics look just like the Arcade version.
5:10 ps2 uses studio vocals
5:21 2024 uses the neo geo arcade cart samples.
The ps2 port is better. Cd quality vocals. 44.1khz not 32k
The movelist is move visible on PS2 version.
I really dig the 2024 version. I doubt they would do it, but I would a vs. cpu option on two player mode and a survival mode
1:12 That sounds like Geese Howard's theme
And Geese is in the game! That theme should have played during his ending
Meh. I got tired of his theme; they put it in almost game. I like his theme from Fatal Fury 3 more.
Conratulation man, great video. You have too much patience to do that.
Well I've done the same thing with alot of games/characters I'm interested in. Just to look at more things about the game 🙂
I hate when the re-releases just are EMU+ROM based on the NeoGeo AES version. Why they don't release the console versions?
Remember KOF NESTS for PS2. For those collection they portayed the Dreamcast versions, not only the NeoGeo AES ones.
PS2 version is an actual port, Steam version is an arcade rom running in an emulator.
Great video! I was around as they were ripping the arcade ROM; playing WIPs and showly watching the emulators play more and more.
I did buy it in Japanese on PS2 also. Really surprised to see a 2024 re-release to be fair; would have loved an updated KOF Orochi collection instead!
That was the Street Fighter V animated series theme on the gallery section. Nice touch
There is also different in the Western Xbox release. The announcer was replaced with John Hulaton, same announcer from KOF '94 Re-Bout and Neogeo Battle Coliseum in that version, but only in some regions but Japan.
Life bar is different. PS2/Xbox version is semi-transparent. Arcade version is simulated transparency using dithering.
Thanks for putting this together! I thought I was crazy when I hit the credit wall in arcade mode. I'm hoping they do patch in infinite continues. Heck, they can keep the 4-credit option if people wanna do challenge runs.
Otherwise, I'm loving the release.
Last night I beat Mr Karate using Hugo. This morning my palms are still sweating.
The PS2 is the easy one to hear Zero (Z) voices
ugh i’ll miss the athena/red arremer transformations dude, that change upset me the most tbh 😭
Fun Facts, For the Japanese Version on PS2, it shows “Press Start Button” on the intro, and the SVC Chaos logo looks more clean and not pixelated.
¿Why the uppercut input is so difficult to perform on Demitri and Dan? its a bug or it was a fail on the arcade. I got the Switch version.
I thought was the only person had difficult to put it, bro im telling you i put the game in my phone on GGPO and the input, combos y uppercut are very smooth than the switch version and i sense a little delay in some attacks
Also Ryu's...
@@4501Kevin Emulation is illegal
@@jasper9291 i know, but i buyed the game i think i have the ríght to play it in another hardware or return to the arcade machines and play the same game
I think that instead of the AES version Code Mystic should've used the MVS one...
Just input the credits with a button and you're ready to go, or just set the game to free play mode
They are considering to fix it since it's a small thing to recode unlike a balance patch (which they were not allowed to do upon release) but I do hope it gets balanced
7:12 Can someone please translate the dialogue between Athena and Red Arremer? 🤔
She says: "Re... Red Arremer? I... I won't lose, no matter who is my rival." and he just do some grunts
@@TsutomuXDvery nice, even she is worried about him. I would like this conversation in the steam version...
Steam version looks much more pixelated than the PS2.
OMG PS2 version is better than the 2024 version
depends on what you are looking for. survival mode is extra content but I dont like the sprite changes. I'd rather have 2024 online modes than play alone on PS2.
I remember in general the home ports of the SNK games like King Of FIghters series would have more transparent projectiles.
I usually thought it was because the consoles have strong power than the SNK gameboard. I think it was 16bit when majority are 32 bit like the CPS2 Capcom uses.
Survival would have clearly been great in this re-release, Color Edit as well it was very fun on Xbox, especially at such a high price. PS2/Xbox were ports, not emulated, this is why they could adjust many things, including transparency.
The Xbox version had color edit
Which would've been hella neat to bring back considering the game only has 2 colors per character
It would also give the game an argument over fightcade
Wish SNK saw more value on their old console ports instead of only looking on how to repackage arcade ports
Still glad this game is back
Lets hope XI comes back, and the Ps2 version
6:36 The bad thing is that Replays cannot be saved in VS mode. Looks like the VCR and recordable video tapes will have to be used to simulate such feature.
I went through the xbox manual and i think the replays were only for online matches
I checked the files of the 2024 version. This is an arcade rom being emulated. The rom files are there. Maybe running in console mode?
Forgot about that sec choas was on original Xbox
some color edits were crazy 😆
0:56 Incorrect: the Steam port is the home Neo Geo AES version, not the arcade MVS version.
Love these in-depth comparisons
thank you
Does this game have a Spectator Mode or Theatre Mode to watch replays or friends matches?
@Ironmonk036 spectator yes. Replays are there but I'm not sure if it's broken. Some online matches don't save
Apppreciate it. Now I may buy the game.
I think you don't even get to fight Athena/Red Arremer at the end and therefore don't get to meet "God". This port is just straight up missing content, and that includes the untranslated text between Athena and Red Arremer and their finishing transformations. I also believe you can't even get the characters' endings, at least I didn't when I beat single player as Terry.
SNK seriously needs to get work on fixing this port's issues. Hope they can add unlimited continues bc this game hard af too
Wait, don't you need specific requirements to meet these two?
While it was cool to see this return with some new features, they really should've focused on either porting the console versions or taking those features and putting it with the 2024 version.
only issue with xbox and ps2 versions is they don't use the correct resolution 240p and very interesting that they redid the special moves with transparency for consoles looks sharp
it's interesting how the ps2 version has some upscaling happening on the character sprites but only on the outline
that shitty lazy bilinear filter is unforgivable, they are selling it on computers in 2024, they should have done a bunch of different upscaling shaders cmon, it's not hard
Damn all this attention might make code mystics and snk patch the bloody game properly
What's funny is that not patching the games are what people wanted for all their other releases like Mark of the Wolves and the KoF games, but SvC is probably the one exception.
If Code Mystics were to be granted permission to alter the game for a balance patch.... that would be so damn good. But they would have to take alot of info and suggestions on what to balance.
This game is at my local arcade, and while I love the xbox version, I appreciate the re-release removing the changes the xbox one had, im used to the arcade version lol. It sucks the extra modes and color swapping is gone though.
Will stick to the ps2 version
SvC Chaos is better in PS2 and Xbox.
Depends what you like in it. I like the stage select and survival mode but not the visual changes to sprites
PS2 always had it shitty when it came to sprites @@AcidGlow
You forgot to mention the HUD. The PS2 and Xbox versions has transparency which the Neo Geo hardware could not do
That's why I left a message for anyone to add anything I missed out on. 🙂 thanks
What about the cpu difficulty did it have any changes from each version?
seems the same. they were not allowed to modify the game data in any way. sometimes CPU does 1 frame input reading on you and counters with an instant super. Just like other fighting games etc.
@@AcidGlow so its still bad that sucks, they should atleast add a better ost or characters like Morigan for Capcom and Leona with Riot Blood for Snk.
Basically the Steam one is the arcade version (with Rom and Emulation) with an new UI in the menu screen.
Great video, but I do wish the games weren't "stretched" to 16:9...
I like the arcade effects more. I just miss color edit mode. The port wasn’t terrible.
I Just suscribed,
GREETINGS from MÉXICO
thanks for watching 🙂
What is the input lag on the ps2, ps4 and GOG versions?
arcade version???
What a shame that it's just a barebones aes version port. I hope Code Mystics updates the game with survival and color edit modes to put it more in line with their other snk rereleases content-wise.
in your opinion do you think that the steam version is worse or not?
It's really just missing the color edit, survival mode and stage select from the other versions.
I don't like the sped up animations or the sprite changes.
Red Arremer and Athena have to be unlock through survival mode (36 wins) on xbox and ps2 also.
Steam version is fine for what it offers. achievements, leaderboards, online. But some extra features from the older versions would be nice.
Sooo... the 2024 has NO palette/name edit, NO survival, NO Athena/Red Arremer tranformations, NO stage select for practice mode, ONLY 3 continues, and crappier more hard-to-read movelist... How after nearly 20 years of tech evolution, a company can fail so utterly fucking miserably in reviving a games most basic functions is beyond me..but I guess only Crapcom knows. How hard can it be to do your job proper? They could have fixed all this and added an RPG mode like SFA3 on GBA if I am not mistaken, and boss damage for players playing as bosses. Thanks for the video. I am sticking to my superior Xbox version of the game.
I was playing the PS2 and arcade versions and comparing just the other day. PS2 has a lot more transparency effects in the projectiles and Overall looks a tad better. But some of the complex moves are even harder to pull off somehow. Chun Lis exceed move is damn near impossible on PS2. I can barely ever land it. I do love the ps2 survival mode though.
Between this and the KOF 2000~2003, I just think that (SNK) Playmore reworked their NeoGeo games from the ground up in the PS2 ports.
Because I remember '01~'03 looking way different from their arcade counterparts.
(But yeah, the limited continues are just _egregious_ given previous AES ports from CM don't have this BS)
I remember playing chun li like god tier on the arcade machines, but on the PS4 using de controller feels kinda clumsy
maybe cause arcade has square gates to where to can feel the diagonal points easier but controller pads n joysticks (more rounded gate) can be a bit harder to get inputs correctly
ps2 looks better than steam
Don't know if anyone pointed this out yet or not but the Xbox version had a different announcer and the recent version fixes the Genjuro typo. Anyone know how to get this port running on Linux/wine?
I bought the Pixnlove limited edition release of this that comes in a Neo-Geo snap box and some cool extras like a aluminum plate poster... They only made 100 copies of it, so glad I got my pre-order in before it was sold out. However, I don't think I'll actually open the game up ever. I can see this is kind of crap release. The PS2/Xbox versions had some cool extras and improvements, which this version doesn't have. If I want just an emulated version of the arcade release, why would I pay for this? I'd rather just play it physically on my actual Neo-Geo, which I think I'll do now. What a weak release.
Street Fighter 2 V music, hell yeah.
So PS2 has a glitch if you play Athena and Red Arremer in English, correct?
that's what appears to happen. Or maybe they didnt translate it so they left that as is. It reminds me of when some games in japan had extra content that was not in the english versions. Like Marvel Super Heroes vs SF endings had extra content in Japan. Or super SFII X had extra akuma footage that Super Turbo didnt have.
@@AcidGlow I wonder if there's a fix for it on emulators.
@ChiefMedicPururu patches like that are possible but I have not found anyone willing to translate it and create a file to patch
@@AcidGlow Maybe we should do it ourselves. If fans can fix issues with Mega Man X7 thanks to a patch, why not something way smaller but still annoying to fix?
@ChiefMedicPururu just a matter of someone caring to do it 🙃
Main draw for me is the online play! And the 2024 version has far superior options and a much better online experience than the Xbox version I played online back when it was new. Also, it's official and legal as apposed to fightcade which has questionable legal concerns.
The PS4, switch, and steam versions definitely need a color edit mode, this game only has 2 colors, default and alternate. And quite frankly some of the alternates suck.
One of the negatives I can say about xmvsf, MSHvsSF, and MvC1. Let us have options.
some secondary colors are not good. color edit mode would be fun
@@AcidGlow Yes definitely, while some people really shouldn't be making their own colors (looking at you SFxT with your super bright neon color shades), there are some great alternate colors you can make.
Cool info, I really think this game is cool to have but forgot just how broken and clunky it is. Playing SFA3 and KOF 13 directly afterwards like a mouthwash lol.
lol 😆 well all games have their fun moments. I didn't play much of KOF
@@AcidGlow KOF 98 is still so good, maybe my favorite game ever...
@@Blas4ublasphemyKoF 98 is my favorite fighting game and of one my 4th favorite game ever.
However, I actually like this game more than Capcom vs SNK 2 and play it every now and then. I wish more fighting games, particularly the crossover ones, focused on the story and fanservice.
Yeah, I mean why focus on controls, streamlined mechanics, and animation fluidity when you can focus on what Mai wears at the weekend and what Kyo's dating preference is 🤣 SNK fans in a nutshell
@@Jahn_Pah_Jonz the story was mostly flushed out in the manga. which is really hard to get a hold of. i never read it

The patch is now live on PS4 and Switch!
I'll stick with the PS2 version I imported.
PS2 version had double resolution portraits like KOF2002?
no 🥺, it only has a small better graphic filter
its like the Ps2 is sort of rebuilt/remastered....to some degree
so smooth image filter just makes the character blurry.
The difference between is that it's playable on the PS2 Japanese and the Xbox original where is this is following the arcade but infinite supers as shown make the possibilities infinite for victory very good but at this point a boss syndrome isn't lol and both crossovers have a syndrome although by completing the Boss Rush on the CVS version it does unlock everything Middle East here on the SVC version you have wind boy Goentiz 🌪️🌪️🌪️ his ultimate defense is the best projectile in the game
We need to talk to Code Mystics
5:50 i like the PS2 normal filter the best out the four 🤔 the smoothing filter on the steam version is all wrong. They turned the smoothing up too much
Thanks alot for this 👏👌👍😊 super informative ❤
thank you for watching 🙂
Transparent life bars and the better resolution on the intro, portraits and endings are also not present on steam 😔
I am mixed. I like the modes, tweaks, and some bonus dialogue on the console versions. But the fire ball attacks look better and worse on the consoles. Plus the console port has some input lag if I play it on my tv. I own the ps2 version, ordered the switch version, and bought the GOG version. I might pick up the xbox version and sell my ps2 verison in the future.
I couldnt get a hold of the xbox version to test out how it reads input delay and get a clear view of every menu. I had to settle for PS2
The content doesnt bug but, what does bug me is that we didn't get the minor tweaks from the xbox version. Otherwise this port runs great
How about Mai's Jiggle Physics? It's still being censored too meanwhile the hack rom version is not?
I showed a video showing her jiggles on steam.
So basically steam version, is a ROM for M.A.M.E in console mode, with a gallery extra to $20, so disapointed, i still prefer ps2 version. Ty for sharing comparative.
Yes it is. I try the PS2 version and it's fine but I prefer having Online than no online modes. I hope they patch these features into the game in the future. Color edit would be fun. I saw some crazy colors on xbox version. some were just silly but fun to see 😎
There's one thing I'd like to see that was left out. In the Steam forums, there's a discussion that the difficult charge moves were fixed in the PS2 and XBOX versions. I don't have either so I can't tell but I'd like to know how fixed they were and if it's possible in the console version to charge from Down-back to either Flash Kick/Head Stomp or Sonic Boom/Psycho Crusher easily just like in Street Fighter.
It's dumb because SNK games had diagonal charging in the first place. You can get used to the different style of charging however.
I play the PS2 version a lot, and it felt pretty much easier do charge moves on the 2024 version. There is still some weird fails when I do the vertical moves, but it felt better than before.
You guys talk like the steam version isn't just the neo geo arcade rom running on a hidden emulator. The PS2 was an actual port, which made more sense at the time.
How much more do they need? Capacom vs snk 3. Do it. Do it now
