- Brace yourself for a totally new experience in cutting-edge animation. Based on the classic comic created by Osamu Tezuka (Astro-Boy), written by Japanese anime legend Katsuhiro Otomo (Akira) and directed by Rintaro (Galaxy Express 999), Metropolis is a spectacular film featuring stunning imagery and unforgettable characters.
In the industrial, tri-level world of Metropolis, Duke Red is a powerful leader with plans to unveil a highly advanced robot named Tima. But Duke Red's violent son, Rock, distrusts robots and intends to find and destroy Tima.
Lost in the confusing labyrinth beneath Metropolis Tima is beginning a sweet friendship with the young nephew of a Japanese detective. But when Duke Red separates the two innocents, Tima's life - and the fate of the universe - is dangerously at stake.
Director: Rintaro
Cast: Toshio Furukawa (voice), Scott Weinger( English version), Yuka Imoto (voice)
The line "Machines have evolved, but mankind has a long way to go" always struck me to this day.
When I got older, I understood exactly what that meant. Our technology advances incredibly fast. Our minds, however, seem stuck in the past.
So this movie is not just some fever dream I had
We are lucky that the name of this film is very easy to remember and has never escaped my memory since I was a child when I saw it, because if it wasn't for that I would never have come across this film again and would have thought it was just a dream.
Been looking for it since 2004. I remembred the zombie robot scenes and the girl falling
Literally same!!!
Same!! I saw it as a kid and never forgot enough of it to look it up and find again
One of my favorite movies, idk why?! The music, the great futuristic feel it had at the time, the storyline, everything! The soundtrack (going into zone) is at the top of my music list for a quick tune.
I remember watching this when I was a kid loved it
It's not Fritz Lang. It's not Steven Spielberg. It's Osamu Tezuka's Metropolis.
We know and those two films are not similar because the one is Anime
Is it based off those tho?
@@FreqsandVibesNo, they're separate.
Watched as a kid. Darkest thing I had watched at that point. But can't deny really helped me know the world outside the good time baby bubble
Idk why I was allowed to watch this as a kid or how I even did but all I know is I ended up teary eyed towards the end 😅
Where can you find this ?
Where can I watch
Captured from the 2005 DVD of Steamboy Director's Cut.
Metropolis ohh yeaaa
This movie was WAY beyond good. Bit was it inspired by the 1920 silent film
Yes it was inspired by that, but that film has inspired nearly every movie with a big city in it. Akira, Star Wars, Fifth Element, blade runner, dredd, its a genre defining movie.
Can you recommend this type of anime?
wtf 120 fps
1:32 notice the TriStar Logo at the end of the Trailer it is Headless
Metropolis = MK Ultra Program!!!
😃😃😃😃❤❤❤❤👏👏👏👏
