I’ve stopped porn on and off and never had an issue. Is it truly tough for people to stop porn? Also masturbation is harder to stop but it’s not unhealthy.
addiction is a coping mechanism for an underlying issue. The addiction can become a problem in itself but just stopping the addiction does not address the reason for it. If you have childhood trauma from emotional or physical abuse or neglect / insecurity pornography become an “escape”, like drugs or alcohol or even work. Giving up the addiction without working in the cause will just set you up for failure. From Theo’s stories it seems to me has unresolved issues with his childhood and he needs to work through those. If you also feel that you are addicted to porn then I would ask you to take time to think about what might be causing it - feelings of shame about your sexuality indicate you may be sexually repressed
I think so as well. and honestly even the way people talk about the issue makes it seem that way. Extremely emotional and opinionated beliefs that just seem like theyre making porn a scapegoat for all their issues. Many of these times I feel it makes so much more sense if you reversed the implied arrow of causation. That and realise theres some underlying issue and youre instinctually using porn just like any other drug or bad habit to cover up and hide the issue rather than address it. Then you get everyone saying "porn is evil its obvious and I shouldnt have to explain"
Should men not masturbate at all? I’m quite certain they always have, but that the problem lies with porn. If a man can masturbate without porn, what is the problem?
Depends who you ask. But Porn definitely is a problem. I like many started very young and have struggled with it. I’m objective to be honest I was tempted to comment something else when I saw your profile pic. Yeah it’s not good (the effects)
I feel like I’m being told to stop doing something because I should feel ashamed of it. But I don’t. I think the key is to ration out how often you beat your meat. I try to keep it at once every 4th day. Keeps a lid on an addiction forming while also practicing self control. Also don’t look at any extreme stuff ever
You’re fooling yourself man. Quit all together before it’s too late. When you’re addicted to porn there will never be enough and you’ll find yourself eventually watching the “extreme stuff” trust me man porn addiction almost killed me.
No because real sex is always better but you gotta pay the piper…pregnancy, disease, injury to your genitalia like snapping your dick or bursting a blood vessel in it etc. People getting attached emotionally due to the physical aspects that brought them together or hurting someone emotionally or physically due to actual sexual relationships shenanigans…fuck wisely my friend. Cheers 🍻
I’ve wondered why men (in a good marriage) are into it. But single men, it’s easy especially if it’s a live screen. They get some of the socializing they’re missing in life.
You're not going to die from porn addiction if you can't stop or relapse, so it can't be the worst kind. And you're not going to be ill or die from withdrawal either, like drugs or alcohol. But I agree it should definitely be treated with seriousness, like all addictions. But it's not the worst, low key or otherwise.
@@marquettegloves9907 It’s free, constantly available, not taken seriously, and is easiest to abuse BECAUSE of the fact you cannot fall ill or have too bad of withdrawals from it. Therefore, it’s harder to motivate yourself to quit. I think it’s the worst addiction in MODERN society for especially younger men, but hey that’s just me. I can see where you’re coming from though
@@Michael-ei5hg I hear what you're saying and you have some relevant points. I certainly can't agree with you that it's harder to quit. To say lack of physical withdrawal in porn addiction makes it harder to motivate yourself to quit is baffling. Withdrawal isn't a helpful deterrant to stop using... it's a hellish physical and mental suffering that addicts try to avoid going through at all costs. If you quit, you are physically ill. Plus you still have the mental side too. That's a much bigger barrier to quitting than the purely mental side of porn addiction. So porn couldn't possibly be harder to motivate yourself to quit, than drugs. However, you may also be talking about another area as well. Perhaps you're saying after someone has quit using porn, it's harder to stay away from than drugs, for the reasons you've stated. Where as I'm talking about being actively addicted, and withdrawal being a horrendous additional problem, on top of the mental side. I completely agree it's not taken seriously enough. Porn at the moment is still on the sex addiction level of seriousness, ie people think it's not real, no big deal or just funny. But both can clearly cause damage to people's lives, and should therefore be treated seriously. So that's my view. Appreciate your opinion.
@@MiddleoftheWest I agree it can include emotional, psychological suffering. That why I talked about the mental side of porn addiction. But withdrawal from drugs for example, includes pain, bone aching, sweating, vomiting, insomnia for days, shaking, diarrhea, restless legs etc. On top of the mental side of hallucinating, irritability, craving, desperation, depression etc. I agree porn addiction has the mental suffering. But it doesn't have anything I just named physically, that drug withdrawal does have. Or maybe you can enlighten me? My point has never been that porn addiction isn't serious. It's just that drug addiction is worse. In my opinion.
@@marquettegloves9907meh I guess I shouldn’t have compared who’s worse, that goes nowhere. I shoulda just said addictions steal happiness and left it at that.

Theo always makes me laugh like I am stoned. haha that comment "he couldnt have been outdoors, he could have been looking at children at a park"?? hahahaha
Youre gonna get people reply saying "no, never, its not possible, its evil", but - if healthy to you means it is possible for it to have no negative or majorly negative effect on your life then yes. I think whether that is possible or not depends person to person. If you have a partner and either of you are unsatisfied as a result of you consuming porn, obviously thats unhealthy. If you consume porn and still have enough energy to give to your partner and theyre happy and fine with that (and youre happy sexually in your relationship), then theres no issue. also would need to mention, are you using porn because you have shit going on in your life and youre trying to escape from it rather than deal with it? then its obviously unhealthy and an addiction

now we know it isn''t true in either case, both underage drinking occurs and so does the latter. at the end of the day it comes down to self control, clearly. no one is forcing you to do anything.

okay... choices... for a 64 year old man who last had a girlfriend in 2003, she left after 17 years of being together and playing together in a band. Why is the full episode not on UA-cam or Spotify
It’s kinda crazy how easy no fap has been after a few months. I’m almost two years of no fap. Don’t even think about it now , I also afto say in these two years I met my first girlfriend. One thing that is pretty nice if life goes bad you can say at least I haven’t fapped
It’s hard to fight a battle that is so prevalent these days. You can’t beat a battle when the weapon is so easy to get a hold of. Set boundaries on your and laptop that keep you from watching explicit videos.
I thought I was suppose to B-off everyday in the month of November. Well this year is a new year. No wonder I had such low T around Thanksgiving. ..vegan turkey, mashed cauliflower(instead of potatoes), extra canned beats...Damn, it all makes sense now. 31 thanksgivings down the drain or wadded up into the waste basket at least
Theo was literally going somewhere and having a conversation and dude just interrupted for a freakn question? How bout wait till there done talking
That’s his boy nick, if he didn’t want him to interrupt he would let him know. Nick was on topic and that’s why he let him continue. Your social skills are bad or you just can’t infer that the two are friends and have worked together for awhile.
Does anyone else think its weird how he used eyedrops and just let the excess stream down his face and doesn't wipe it the rest of the face-to-face discussion?

Dr. Drew's old timer kicks in mid interview, forgets he's filming to put eye drops in
I find Dr. Drew to be very arrogant. Theo is great though.
Dr Drew should have told us this on MTV back in the day!!
I’ve stopped porn on and off and never had an issue. Is it truly tough for people to stop porn?
Also masturbation is harder to stop but it’s not unhealthy.
Keep rationalizing
addiction is a coping mechanism for an underlying issue.
Helping me patch myself up! ❤️❤️❤️

Yeah it’s not good (the effects)
where's the full episode?
I feel like I’m being told to stop doing something because I should feel ashamed of it. But I don’t. I think the key is to ration out how often you beat your meat. I try to keep it at once every 4th day. Keeps a lid on an addiction forming while also practicing self control. Also don’t look at any extreme stuff ever
You’re fooling yourself man. Quit all together before it’s too late. When you’re addicted to porn there will never be enough and you’ll find yourself eventually watching the “extreme stuff” trust me man porn addiction almost killed me.
1 to 2 a week
Seen it all nothins too extreme or softcore.
Ive tried that but my issue is its so easy to rationalize going from every 4th to every 2nd, then every day and so on
Fighting the good fight!
Thank you

If porn is so toxic, shouldn’t also the people doing porn be affected in the same way?
No because real sex is always better but you gotta pay the piper…pregnancy, disease, injury to your genitalia like snapping your dick or bursting a blood vessel in it etc. People getting attached emotionally due to the physical aspects that brought them together or hurting someone emotionally or physically due to actual sexual relationships shenanigans…fuck wisely my friend. I’ve wondered why men (in a good marriage) are into it. But single men, it’s easy especially if it’s a live screen. They get some of the socializing they’re missing in life.
This addiction is lowkey the worst kind it’s the coronavirus of addictions
I shoulda just said addictions steal happiness and left it at that.

quesiton that i have, is is possible to have a "healthy", or "non-destructive" relationship with porn?
