    Wow is all i can say. I just did his shoulder workout and feel it more than any other shoulder workout i have done. Leave your ego at the door, Im 6'4 255 and found myself struggling using 10 pound weights during this. Its hard to watch a 5'9 155 pound guy trying to do 35 pound weights and not want to out peacock him. Once you forget about that and just do the routine at the end you will know why James advice is so much better. Using lighter weights also allowed me to use the correct form, you will see once you try it. You will also notice just how many people at the gym use heavy weights with horrible form. I also had no pain in my shoulders using lighter weight, just soreness.
    There is a ton of videos on working out, I used to just watch CT's all I can say is if you havent tried James workout what is the harm in trying the next time yo go to the gym? I am truly glad i found his videos and look forward to the gaines from watching them.

    I'm in tears right now!! This is the BEST video ever; I've had severe chronic left shoulder impingement for years. The arm was soooo weak I could barely lift a tissue. I'd done a course of physiotherapy. No one's ever shown or explained or made me understand what, how...how to fix it. I just rather 'automatedly' tried to recreate the physio exercises at home. I am so thankful to have stumbled across this easy, explanatory video...APPLAUSE (I'm clapping) you even have a skeleton & threaded that band through & now it all makes such SIMPLE sense.
    I've been in the gym for 18 months now. I know I've strenghtened & getting a better core. I've been 6 months focusing on my shoulders & I can do lateral raises around 20 lbs, I can do 20-25 lb shoulder shrugs. I can bench press 30 lbs. I mean all of this was unheard of!! I'm just ever so grateful for this video. Out of the seemingly 100,000 out there, this is the best I've ever seen!! It's my go-to, favourite...one & only!!

      Google "Cable shoulder internal rotations" and "Cable shoulder external rotations" I had to do physical therapy for years, these were a major part of me being able to use my arms again. In conjunction with these exercises, I'm sure they will help you build your strength as well.

      This is EXACTLY what i was going to comment 5 videos ago lmfao XD. Seriously though, you popped up on recommended and unlike other trainers that just simply give people the exercises and that's it D: , you get more specific into not only the forms but simultaneously describe the do's and don'ts while also giving a better understanding of the general mind- muscle connection for each muscle group which is key for improvement and ultimately perfection thank you so much for your videos they've helped me with my shoulder popping issues/ imperfections :) +1 subscriber, though i doubt you'll see this comment out the pile of thousands of others XD.

    I agree 100% with this. I have had rotator cuff issues for years however fortunate to have been blessed with good delts , I have built them more since laying on my side on an incline bench doing my side delts unilaterally. The tension is through the entire range of motion without the ability to swing or shrug into into the movement.
    As always great info here James..Thank you!
    Cheers from Australia

    Shoulders tomorrow. I'm glad that you talked about not working your anterior deltoids on shoulder day. I've been thinking about this for awhile now which is why I put a day between my chest/tricep day with my shoulder day. I have also been doing something similar with my sets. Set 1 = Lighter weight for 15 reps, set 2 = heavier weight for 12 reps, set 3 = heavier weight for 8 reps followed by dropping the weight by 50% until about 2 reps before failure. I'm going to try your 4 set method!

    For the upright row if you want to activate the side delt then use a wide grip and also bend slighlty forward. This will remove the traps out and you should feel it a lot in your rear delts and side delts

    • @SirKingWest
      @SirKingWest 7 років тому +11

      There is no technique that will eliminate the posture where your shoulders are turned downward. As soon as they rotate like that, you are in snap city.

    • @nvmffs
      @nvmffs 7 років тому +3

      Shoulders turned downward ? No such thing with upright rows. Don't know what you guys are doing but there's nothing wrong with this exercise. Being doing it for years and I'm seeing great results and no awkward feeling that I get from lateral raises. Ben Pakulski says it's perfectly fine too. And he's an expert.

      nvmffs your horribly wrong. When physical therapists test people for impingement they literally put your arm in the same position as an upright row and apply pressure on your hands and tell you to try to fight the pressure to see if you have an impingement. Thats because that position causes internal rotation of the rotator cuff whether you think your arms are turned downward or not.

  • @cgsrtkzsytriul

    When pushing in front of the head you using BOTH the lateral and the anterior head. Same goes for front lifts. You dont have to use one single side lateral in your life to get big side delts. Its a waste of time. Get big on barbell pushing in frontr of head and you will get huge side delts And dont try to fixate the shoulder girdle down that will cause dysfunctional scapular movement. The scapula is suposed to rotate uppwards when elevating the arm and the traps does that along side the seratus anterior.
