I used to feel so dishonest when I’d invite a young family as my guests to a Kingdom Hall as that is what we were supposed to do. But deep inside I’d be thinking: this is all they see. But wait’ll they learn they won’t be able to buy xmas presents for their kids or celebrate a birthday; wait til they find out they’ve got to die rather than take blood during an emergency, wait til they find out they’ll lose their friends and family if they disagree...I lost my innocence in the Watchtower for sure. I became a sales rep and a liar. So glad I got out. After I was out, I revisited anyone I had had a Bible study with and apologized.
I was that little girl at assembly who cried so hard every time they would say everyone will be destroyed very soon but us. Everyone stands up clapping for for 5 minutes and I'm getting in trouble for crying.. made me traumatized all my life. I love everyone and would never want anyone or anything to be destroyed. So sad. I was always told to be ashamed of myself as a small girl up until l left. But that shame for myself was ingrained in me. I lived my whole life being ashamed of myself even when I didn't realize that's what I was doing causing me to be unhappy and not love myself
In my case, faced with the same situation, I would go down to the pub, book a holiday and call up my friends to see who fancied playing golf at the weekend. But life is cruel so I won't ever be teased with such emotional blackmail. My mum drove my dad to suicide whist with the Jehovah's Witnesses in 1974 and has spent the rest of her narcissistic life spreading misery, using denial and selfishly putting people around her through ordeals. None of her blood relatives speak to her at all, yet she thrives as a Jehovah's Witness. With her intelligence she manipulates every member of her congregation.
Oh, I knew immediately my first red flag was having to give up the pure joy of Christmas for my children! AND AFTER I was baptized (not before), finding out if my child needed blood to live, I was supposed to deny them life by saying, “No blood!” Those were my red flags, the major ones. There were MANY, but those were the most prominent and giving up all joy, I ignored all the red flags until I said, “Enough!” and saved my children and myself, got kicked out and shunned and now i will simply ask them “WHY?” when they rattle on and on about death and destruction. Yes Unconditional love is what would identify a true religion. If one of your own children wanted to believe in fairies, you would think aww that’s cute…and wouldn’t shun them for it or kill them. Hello Sven, I have always struggled with the teachings the JWs teach however, I can't argue with the bible because it is God's word and he is the main person in the universe as well as his son Jesus whom our prayers are direct through. I just struggle with some of their teachings and the guilt I have often felt when I can't tow the line and I don't like that feeling so I have kind of stepped back.

Very soon I will get baptized in JW, so I want to know a lot more about the organization. I have come realize that the JW organization is the only organization that worship God in truth. They don't participate in politics, they refuse false teachings, they don't do everything which others do, etc. It's a nice organization otherwise. If you left, I would recommend that you go back, Jehovah still loves you.

The KJV that they were using before then was giving them a lot of problems, which is why they needed cease all use of the KJV, and to create their very own custom made “bible,” which had drastic changed all in which were done to support their own key False doctrines. Over the years they came up with the many Newer Revised Editions, one of which was the first complete nwt that contained the OT and NT in 1961. Since then newer revised editions have came out. Here are the rest of their New Revised Editions in order: 1970, 1971, 1981, 1984, 2013… all of which contained more and more changes like verses removed, words removed, words changed, new words added, commas and periods moved around, verses restructured, parts of chapters removed, etc.
