- Who is this boat for? If you are looking for a combination of the shoal draft, thoughtful accommodations, refined performance and offshore sturdiness, add the Allures 45.9 to your list.
Does she live up to expectations? The numbers stack up if you take the stats and put the Allures 45.9 through its paces. I want to spend some time with an owner, crossing the bay of Biscay or up and round the Scottish isles to so if she does live up to her name.
Thank you for all the effort in bringing together these videos. I look forward to seeing the Explocat 52, the longer and more detailed would be greatly appreciated. Something lacking with the Garcia promo videos out there.
The Explocat 52 will be coming soon, As cats go, they are on another level compared to most other catamarans with' build quality and strength. We also have some Garcia test sails ready to be uploaded in the next few weeks/months, so I think you will enjoy them. I am glad you liked the presentation, and thank you for taking the time to comment.
Only just discovered your new channel! Love these boats so much
Welcome to YI. I am pleased you like them. Lots more to come.
Wonderful video! I really LOVE the Allures boats. They seem to be well crafted. I can't wait until I can see and touch one in person. Cheers!
Thanks for the review. I have been aboard an Allures, but have never sailed one, so interesting to hear how they handle.
They are undoubtedly good looking boats and nicely fitted out down below, with high quality joinery, etc. However, a point you didn’t discuss in your review is a fundamental feature of the Allures range, which is that they are not of all-aluminium construction. The deck and parts of the transom are GRP, as can be seen in some parts of your video. This implies some sort of watertight bonding mastic or seal between the deck and hull assemblies. Aluminium and GRP have different strength, stiffness and coefficients of expansion, so a small amount of differential movement between the hull and deck is inevitable. How then, does Allures guarantee the integrity of this seal ?
It is true that the deck and hull of most production yachts are constructed separately and then bonded together to form the complete hull. But that is bonding plastic to plastic. Bonding an aluminium hull to a plastic deck is a completely different proposition. Although not an expert, or a boat-builder, I am quite familiar with aluminium yachts, being the owner of an Alubat OVNI. One thing I can state with confidence is that over time, nothing sticks to aluminium. Not even paint. So how does Allures get a plastic deck to stick to an aluminium hull in a manner that will remain flexible and watertight for the life of the boat?
If I were to upgrade from my current boat, then I would consider a Boreal, KM, Garcia, or another OVNI. However, Allures would not be on my shopping list.
Loving this boat!
Is this a new channel? I have followed your other channel.
You do a great job.
Hi, yes, it is new., I am still posting on SVTONIC boatwives, and thank you for being a subscriber; we are going to be videoing more boat tec, sea trials and how-to's on this channel. As you may know, our other channel was set up to find our perfect boat, and well, we will be posting some news on that very soon. Thank you once again for being a subscriber and following what we do. 👍
Hmm, not a single flaw to be found - this boat is truly impeccable. Even the double-catch cabinets, requiring both hands to open, contribute to its allure. The boat's outstanding stability ensures that both hands remain free to effortlessly release the latches in any sea state. Although the double catches might be intended to prevent accidental openings, alternative straightforward systems have existed for decades, requiring only one hand to open without the risk of unintended releases.
Seriously, this boat is remarkable. I had the privilege of a brief passage aboard one, and there's much to admire about it. However, it's disheartening to watch a test sail that seems more like a sales pitch, completely sidestepping even the slightest hint of criticism. Did you get the opportunity to sail downwind? How did the steering feel with the wind coming from behind? In my experience, it was not at all a light touch, single-finger affair.
+1 on the Explocat 52. Not enough videos available on those yet.
It's coming soon, such a different catamaran to others on the market.
I'm not a big tinier galley fan , but it looks like you have plenty to hold onto while moving about,
Thanks for the show but I'm calling dibs on being the camera man 5:08 because that would be a great job :)
You would be more than welcome,
Спасибо за видео
boom brake, mate. Im not a fan of the boom brake but some love them
Have to be careful with Ally Hulls, it's possible to destroy the hull electrolytically by just connecting the batteries wrong somehow, can't remember the exact details.
You are right, we will be doing a video or two on different hull materials soon.
I still would prefer the Garcia Exploration 45 or 52.
Same people but such different boats, some videos coming soon on the Garcia 45, 52 and 62 and well a few other things to like the Explocat 52.
Прекрасная яхта!!!!
Отличный обзор, от красивой бабы!!
Всех благ!!!...
Loving this boat!
So do we.
