These “quick lessons” have been absolutely invaluable to me. I’ve learned so much more by practicing what you teach in these 1 minute videos than I have from some 1hr+ long lessons here on the Tube… These videos are like a spark that starts the creative engine in my brain vs. other videos that put my mind on cruise control. Thank you for all you do and PLEASE keep them coming! 🙏🏼
When you started playing the chords at the end I could not help but hear a little: “I'm a Barbie girl in the Barbie world Life in plastic, it's fantastic!” 🤣
As someone who’s learning guitar for the first time I find these videos highly invaluable. Especially when I am able to recognize a note that’s being played 🤣
ATTN: RICK & CHANNEL. PLEASE combine all of the similar or "like" SHORTS to MAKE REGULAR VIDEOS, that way we'd BE ABLE TO USE a SLOWER PLAYBACK SPEEDS to PLAY ALONG with it as we LEARN it, since we CAN'T CHANGE the PLAYBACK SPEED ON SHORTS... so if you just combined 3 or 5 or even 10 at a time and post them as regular videos, that would be awesome!!! I BOUGHT THE BEATO BOOK & EAR TRAINING, BUT ONLY HAVE 10 TO 20 2 TO 5 MINUTE BREAKS TO PLAY GUITAR... SO I DON'T HAVE TIME TO GET ON MY COMPUTER. PLEASE CONSIDER IT. Thank you!!! Love you Rick!!! U rock!!!
Oh man.... You make me want to practice!!! ....and it's currently 00:35 over here, on a weekday.... 😭🤣🤣🤣🤣 Excellent & inspiring stuff Rick!! Cheerio 😉🙏
I just love listening to your whole take on playing, I'm sure for those who understand your lessons they do as well, I just wish I had the nerve to start messing around and learn. 🎸🤘
You are so far over my head that all I really enjoy is when you go over songs. I loved you going over kids Charlemagne. Larry Carlton and Danny Diaz and and everyone else who did solos for them
What about a guy by the name of Jan Akerman the guitar player with Focus. Had a song on the charts called Hokus Pocus....ever heard of him ????? Phenomenal guitar player live and in the studio...
Great, Great Chord Progression it's relative arpeggio Progression and a complete harmony scale overall! That's a rewarding lesson that teaches the music theory of Chords, thier Arpeggios And The Root Key scale overall! Grasp this lesson, and the student is handed the Keys to The Kingdom! Major and Minor. 🎙️☝️🧐 🤓 🏁 🎸
The thing about Rick's videos is you've either been watching long enough to get what he's doing or you have absolutely no idea what he's talking about. And it often just happens one day where it clicks and all of a sudden you realize he isn't crazy and you just hadn't put the things you heard together yet.
Rick can you do something simple for people just getting into improvising with the pentatonic/ blues scales? I know the 5 positions but am having a hard time getting them to go with backing tracks

Michael Cerrone - Much agreed!
Guess people can stop bitching about the lessons not being beginner friendly anymore; amazing stuff.
When you started playing the chords at the end I could not help but hear a little: “I'm a Barbie girl in the Barbie world
Life in plastic, it's fantastic!” 🤣
the solo in the first four chords reminded me of the adults are talking, basically cause it's the same chord progression
Love this song. Love the strokes in general
yes omg i was gonna say it reminded me of the strokes lol. the guitar also sounds simularly to something off of angles
Yeah in the outro / coda right?
Thank you!!! It was driving me nuts cause I knew it reminded me of something but couldn't place what
Rick, you are the man. Thank you for spreading your knowledge to the musicians of the world.
Beautiful Rick! If y'all want to learn the fret board JS Bach taught all this stuff you will be rocking like crazy if you apply yourself to it.
Bach’s the goat!
If this guy opens a music store called "Like That" I will shop there
Thank you for that! In addition to everything else, it’s also something that I could listen to someone practice for quite a long time
Thank you for making this so accessible we can all work with it.
Will be practicing this! 🤩 Thank you so much! This is so valuable! 🫠🙏
that slow ending was just superb !!
Circle progressions are so cool

U rock!!!
just add the short to watch later list and play it there, it plays like a regular video.
Thank you for all you express in a humble, entertaining and incredible efficient manner
Oh man....
You make me want to practice!!!
....and it's currently 00:35 over here, on a weekday.... 😭🤣🤣🤣🤣
Excellent & inspiring stuff Rick!! Cheerio 😉🙏
This is the almost the EXACT chord progression in Homage by Mild High Club!
that’s why he says 4-7-3-6-2-5-1 that’s basically what the chord progression is
It's the circle of fifths
This is Autumn Leaves
I just love listening to your whole take on playing, I'm sure for those who understand your lessons they do as well, I just wish I had the nerve to start messing around and learn. 🎸🤘
Anyone else love Ricks "Like that"?
Very informative as always 👍
Awesome! I loved it!
Rick you’re the man. Thank you so much for all of these great gems!!
These videos are always so practice/play provoking!! I want to hear some Rick Beato tunes!
Reminds me of listening to Marty Friedman and Jason Becker when they were in Cacophony. :)
Awesome lesson Rick. Ive goy something to work on this evening now..like im not doing a hundred other lesson 😅
You are so far over my head that all I really enjoy is when you go over songs. I loved you going over kids Charlemagne. Larry Carlton and Danny Diaz and and everyone else who did solos for them
Sounds awesome! I just purchased the beato bundle, it’s awesome
Chord progression sounds like Europa by Santana. I see others posting other tunes that sound similar...I need to check those out.
Another awesome excercise. Thank you Rick
What about a guy by the name of Jan Akerman the guitar player with Focus. Had a song on the charts called Hokus Pocus....ever heard of him ????? Phenomenal guitar player live and in the studio...
Yes ! This is awesome and I love the sound you're getting...
Great lesson!
I so wish you were my guitar teacher when I was starting out
Youre a fantastic teacher!
Mike Varney called and wants to sign you to a 1980's record deal.
LMAO OMG .
Say "no". Record deals were terribly exploitative back than then.
@@klaxoncow lol “were”
I think Rick knows better
He said 2023 called we want a Rick tour. I'd love it couldn't happen to a nicer guy😊
Rick, thank you for your humble, entertaining and always proficient shares
Autumn leaves ;)
Beat me to it. :)
Yep….I remember learning it in piano class 20 years ago …
I guess it's appropriate I'm learning it in Oct. To remember
If I have yet to master that level of smoothness in my picking in my 10+ years of playing, I never will. That really hurts.
Great stuff! + Cool blue guitar!
Awesome just awesome, love that specific progession! Hope more and more musicians find you Rick, you truly are a blessing to this community 😁

Bach and pachelbel are my guys. Melodic
Just LIKE THAT, Beatches!
Blown away!!!
Love it! I'ma try this. Thank you
I was itching to hear the D7b9 leading back in into the Gm. Good stuff!
Good touch with the fingerboard graphics and slower repeat.
Awesome!
I always feel like Rick is giving a group lesson to Petrucci, Vai, Malmsteen, ND Bach.
Nuno said he was
Love the color of that melody Maker!
I'm just here for the ... "Like That"
I love this stuff!
LP junior? Always wanted to play one. That for the chords/arpeggios ❤🎵❤🎵💯
LOVE THAT!
😮😍👏👏👏👍‼️ a whole lot of the spirit of Gary Moore / Thin Lizzy in there😎
Sounds great 7 th arpeggios
Avenged sevenfolds bat country got me interested in these types of chords during the breakdown and outro
Is the A7 chord outside the key? Would A minor 7 be within the key? I would like to know the theory behind that chord change
Same, that threw me off as well.
Superbe progression d,arpèges !!🙂😉🎸🎸🙏🤘
great lesson and finally no reverb thank the lord
Sounds classical. I need this
Can we collectively demand that rick participate in the next great UA-cam shred collab?
Beautiful... Its sound bach..
The Autumn Leaves of red and gold
Nice work
Your so cool….I’m convinced these tutorials are just a way people show off without teaching anything
Está buenísimo
SO
FKN
BADASS
Gorgeous.
Beeeeauuuutiful, Sir👏👏👏🙏
Should do a video on Mick Gordon techniques with an eight stringer
Sounds like Bach.
Bach doesn't sound this corny. But then again, this is a practice thing that should inspire you to play something new.
Great lesson ❤❤. But shouldn’t it be Amin7 in place of A7?
Can you do a video on picking technique that is not alternate but " circular" (or something like that).Thank you😊
this chord progression is Still got the blues by "gary moore" for example :-)

Steve lukather approve this video !
Sounds beautiful! Would this work over Spain if in the same key?
You had me up until after ‘quick lesson..’
I hear George Michaels careless whisper in these chords.
I hear El pueblo unido jamas sera vencido
how you guys memorize harmonic minor scale patterns?
That is the one of the toughest things if not the toughest I think.
Absolute master.
This Beato guy is great
Nice!🤘🔥🤘
MRRRRR CROWLEY
I miss the synth pad! 😢
If this is intentional for clarity maybe you could include it on the initial play, then remove for the teaching part?
I wish I had all those les Pauls
I need to get to a point where I can understand what you just said lol
This should help. Search:
1. Nashville number system
2. Common chord progressions
3. Arpeggios
Autumn Leaves just LIKE THAT
When will you make another video of famous guitarists?
Rick can you do something simple for people just getting into improvising with the pentatonic/ blues scales? I know the 5 positions but am having a hard time getting them to go with backing tracks
One moment for lesson - one day for learning and a week for horning
You spend the whole week horning? That's a lot of horn.
@@klaxoncow Yeah I horn at the top of the hour every hour.
Very classical.
I love trying to copy these.
Hey Rick what are you going thru to get that tone
Ah yes, slow... That made it all make sense... 😂
I watch all these lessons but when I pick up my guitar I just inherently start playing basic riffs I already know 😓
he sounds like dave tho😭
Nice
This is the chords to Autumn Leaves
