Nice work. Good info. I'm going to subscribe.
This was very helpful. I ordered one of those sweeping logs. In the meantime until it arrives, should I keep my flu open or closed? I cannot tell if the odor is coming from my chimney or just inside my fireplace. I removed all the ash.
What if it is in the home and not the fireplace?
Sweeping log made things much worse, it added strong chemical smell to the fire smell
LMAO every 60 fires use a log to sweep it out!!!! I think someone is trying to up his sales at the hardware store. Get a certified chimney sweep, to inspect the chimney once per year. sweep every cord of wood. if there's a pressure issue with the chimney, none of those products will fix the problem. They will definitely mask the issue for awhile but that's it.
Ray Judd....this is correct. homeowners should ideally burn one creosote log for every 60 fires in order to reduce creosote buildup in the chimney flu. The average price per log is $14.99.
Experts say sweeping logs don't work watch the videos buddy
Great to see that Woodprix has new instructions to save my money and energy to build it.
they should ban these damn things
Thank you
