Nice and neat! Thanks for sharing. I have an old 90's Sears Gamefisher I picked up last year, with an 80's Suzuki motor. Also am using a cheap trolling motor... not effective in wind and grassy bays, but okay as backup.
Love this boat. Would you happen to know how long it is from the trailer tongue to the back of the motor with it lowered? Trying to see if it will fit in my garage. I live in an HOA and storing it outside is not an option. Thanks.
Where did you buy the switches box and is there a sticker with weight hp etc on the boat I believe I hv one given to me but I can't Identify the boat. It's riveted and looks very tough I'm contemplating redoing it Tks
@@questwest9135 thanks for the reply. I’m trying to decide between the v14 and the tracker grizzly 1448. I know the grizzly will be more stable but it also weighs a lot more. How would the v14 fair with a 25 HP outboard? My plan is to add a side console, bow plate, and build bow and stern casting decks out of aluminum(to keep weight down). Basically building the decks on top of the front and back benches. I mostly fish for bass, so I’ll be standing up the entire time. Wondering if it will be stable enough to do that. Thinking the 25HP will help with the added weight.
@@a2l149 Here are my thoughts on that. My previous boat was an Alumacraft Escape 165 side console. I much prefer a tiller and no console for a fishing boat. Much more room in the boat and far better steering control. I run a 20 HP but the V14 is rated 25, I did that only because that was what was available at the time. I am ok with the performance of the 20, it works well and also trolls very well. If I remember right the Yamaha 20 and 25 is basically the same motor, same weight etc. The 25 would have given a couple more mph top end. If I were you as a bass fisherman I might lean towards the Tracker Grizzly because it already has the casting deck. But I have no problem casting off the existing plywood floor of the V14. Lower centre of gravity is more stable. Check out the Tiny Boat Nation videos showing their build using a V14, it's awesome.
@@questwest9135 Good to know. i hear you on the tiller vs side console. It’s defiantly a matter of preference. When I’m not fishing and just cruising I know I’ll prefer a side console. I love the Escape 145 SC, but I don’t want to pay for it if I could build one similar for much cheaper. Especially right now with dealers charging thousands of $ over MSRP. How was stability on the escape’s front deck. I imagine it would be similar to v14. Both hulls have their pros and cons. With the grizzly I would try to copy to bass tracker, but I would have to paint the boat(I hate the jon boat green) and extend the decks. With the v14 I would likely try to copy the escape. Just would not have a live well. No painting need for v14. Both will require a lot work but I think they will fit my wife and I’s needs. I will be fishing in mostly small lakes but could venture out to some medium size lakes which I know the v14 will take white caps much better. I’ve fished out of a tracker pro team 175 for many years and have been caught in some storms that weren’t fun so v-hull would be much better for that. I have seen the TBN videos on the V14 like a hundred times. Lol! I’m torn which is why I’m reaching out to you. I appreciate your feedback. Have a good day sir.
@@a2l149 Well the escape was definitely more stable than the V 14 but it was hundreds of pounds heavier and wider. And of course it was better in rough conditions for those reasons. Also stronger with the 2XB hull which the V14 doesn’t have. But I enjoy my V 14, I prefer the lighter weight and better maneuverability. Also easier to get in and out of beaches and run closer to shorelines.
I think it's a 25L. It works good for when we go out camping for a few days. A 12L would be fine for day or weekend trips unless you are running long distances.
Man that’s a beautiful boat. Has a clean setup.
Thanks! Catch a lot of fish with it.
We just bought a v-14 and like it so far. Thanks for the great video.
Congrats and enjoy your boat!
Just came on to this. This is just about everything you need for fishing and nothing more.
Can’t beat a v hull aluminum boat for all around fishing.
I really like your setup I bought a 16.5 foot bass tracker and I wanna do like your setup thank you for sharing
Thanks for watching!
Love this boat especially back seat for driver, space is needed to move around. Love this setup , less is more imho. Good luck on the water.
Thanks! It's a good boat and easy to handle.
Very nice work. Very nice boat too.😊😊
Thanks!
Thanks for sharing! I picked up a 2022 V16, now I gotta get going on rigging
Good choice, great boats!

Yes my electric motor is mainly for backup also.
Absolutely perfect!
Nice set up what type of Garmin Fish Finder is that? 5 or 7 cv?
Thanks, it's a 5 CV.
Nice boat, i just bought the same model, what size is your trolling motor? 34 or 55 lbs thrust ?
It's a 34. Not enough if there's any wind. I rarely use it though because the 20 trolls so well.
Badass and you use chocks.
Nice setup!
Thanks!
Love ypur set up
Great set up, enjoy!
thanks!
Great set up! Nice video
Thanks!

Looks like about 229” or 19.1’
I might have missed it but what size tires are you running on your trailer
I think they are 15’s.
Is that a veve brand transom saver?
Brand is Extreme Max.
No cleats? How can you boat and not have any cleats?
Had some but I took them out, they didn't work with the travel cover. Mounted some tie down rings to the floor instead.
how do u fine the v 14 in big ruff walter I am looking to upgrade my small 14 ft boat to some thing like yours
I wouldn't take it out if it was too rough but overall I am very happy with the boat. I find it too hard to fish when its too windy.
@@questwest9135 good to know thanks for the information

How is stability walking around in the boat?
I find it has good stability with two people.

Great man! Am new to boats thinking same v14 with 8 or 9.9 hp yamaha. With that good to move 2 or 3 ppl? Please lmk your suggestions
I recommend at least a 20 hp. Max rating is 25.

Also the V14 is good for 2 people. Might be a bit small for 3.

Do the find the 20L tank is a good size for that motor? Or do you think the 12L would do?
