- The two men behind Arethusa al tavolo spent years working with Manolo Blahnik, turning it into a global brand, before embarking on a mission to save open farmland and begin a dairy operation. That led them to eventually found Arethusa al tavalo, a Connecticut restaurant that has been ranked among the top 100 in the country. Jeff Glor has more.

These are the kind of presentations that make me proud that I live in Connecticut, and not far from this fine establishment group
Always a good sign when a Chef eats his own food!
I had no idea Arethusa's backstory! We've been going to their stores and buying their milk for a decade. A fabulous institution and not nearly as pricey as you might think it would be.
Fantastic story Jeff, thank you so much…😋
Thanks for a great interview
Bantam is such an iconic Connecticut town
Always a fun road trip from other parts of the state to here
Proud to be a Nutmegger😀😀😀
I'm 4th generation in the ice cream biz, so when I say Arethusa's butter pecan ice cream is the best in the known universe, listen to what I have to say.
Amazing! what an operation, great commitment to quality🌞
Omg their ice cream is fantabulous!! Love their products and it's great to buy local! 😊
He built his dream childhood town
Merry Christmas 🎄
I love that there are people who believe in doing things the way they used to be done when those ways were right.
The eggnog at the grocery store these days is awful.
Take note restaurateurs and farmers, this is how it's done!!!
Excellent story! Many thanks for all they do and wished it would be done many more places.
That area of Connecticut is fill with wealthy people and movie stars
And a lot of people who aren’t!
great story once again. i want to buy that cheese.
Me too!!
Not that expensive? I found their egg nog in my local Big Y. $11.99 for one of those bottles! I’m know they’re worth it though.
A perfect day in that part of CT… Sunset Meadow Vineyard in Goshen, Thorncrest Farm & Milk House Chocolates down the road, then end the day at Arethusa with some cheese and ice cream 😋
That’s really expensive.
Great
Segment!
I enjoyed this video very much. If ever I am close I would love to visit. The menu is 😚😊
This is so.awesome amazing and the worker amazing the ice cream and the cheese 🧀 😊 fabulous
Makes me sad that the young man missed his Lavern & Shirley moment
" al TAH volo" per favore!
Also pronounced Madras wrong
Their clean jeans show they don’t really help in the farm and the restaurant clearly out-prices the locals. Good for them providing jobs but for them to pretend the work in cow barn is just sad.
Litchfield County is a beautiful part of the country and is a very affluent county.
That part of Litchfield county isn't exactly low income. The 'locals' are Anderson Cooper, Meryl Streep, and Kevin Bacon.
just protect the ears every time they slam those cheese.
Congratulations. ✌️
Looks great, so why is the operation named after a nymph who escaped rape by turning into a fountain (see Ovid) and is also a genus of bog orchids? The place doesn't look all that wet to me.
Jeff's H O T...😅
Nice free advertising
Please stay in New York. The new comers are rude and arogant. The charm of this place is that it's not snobby. These people thunk they are superior and its the worst
I haven’t watched “normal” tv for awhile…guess it is ok to take God/Jesus’ name in vain loudly and unapologetically…this story is a great example of people taking God’s good gifts on this earth completely for granted and showing scant concern, rather open defiance, for Him and His law…a day of reckoning is coming for us all and we will each be held to account before Him.
