Great tutorial. My 2007 audi a4 giving a p0171. The car starts fine and idles around 1200 rpm then drops to 800 rpm and shakes. I unplugged the brake booster hose and the rpm stays same no change. Shouldn't the rpm rise because I am introducing more unmetered air? I am totally confused. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

I’ve got a beetle that’s popping the lean code right now and I just had a massive repair done to it. I can’t help but feel that since I’m a woman, I’m being taken advantage of. It seems every time I get it back from the mechanic it’s something else. I’d rather go to the doctor and get bad news than even take my car to the mechanic (because I’m always told something is going on and that kicks off a cycle of chasing problems with it)

I have a p0171 on my toyota corolla 2007 fuel trims at idle are stft -3 to 4 and ltft is 33.6. At higher rpms,it gets worse stft is 7 and ltft goes past 39.7. Does this mean is a fuel delivery issue? I had replace maf, intake manifold gasket, fuel pump, pcv valve, o2 sensor but code still there, no vaccum leaks found with smoke detector
K I do have a question about the smoke Machine …… I do the search there is a lot of smoke machine and people not all the smoke machine can do evap job because psi is too high…..so can you please recommend me a cheap and useful small machine thank you

So to isolate this P0171 error, the easiest way is to use the smoke machine? or is there an easier method?
drsnowmon Smoke machine is the easiest way or you could use some soapy water, spray it around the intake manifold and see what happens!!
