Sir, you are a master mechanic! And based on your videos you don’t replace unnecessary items. I notice you meticulously tested each component including a scope on sensor wires! I personally learned a lot watching you troubleshooting! Thank you! 👍
I HAVE A 2013 CIVIC . MY CAR DID THE SAME EXACT THING. NO ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I CHANGED MY MAF SENSOR AND THE UPPER OXYGEN SENSOR. THE POWER TO THE ENGINE RETURNED. GAS MILEAGE IMPROVED. SMOOTH IDLE. CLEARED THE CODES. EVERYTHING BACK TO NORMAL.
Hey brother, it’s Tom Mack. I I followed your advice get to the root problem and it turns out it was the fuel pump I paid $283 bucks !! At O’Reillys or a Silverado 1500 I got a fuel pump at Amazon $88 bucks , so far so good , I don’t care what these other mechanic tell me I guess they wanted to be like what you said don’t be one of those guys that buy brand new parts you don’t need , god bless you my brother thanks so much
You are welcome, I should be the one Thanking you bro, I don’t know why but other mechanic must have stock in auto parts ? Giving the wrong advice. It’s like why? I don’t mind getting a new part of my truck 🛻 but when they cost 💲a arm and a leg I don’t I have better things to do with that money like pay off a bill. You are a blessing to the people and to UA-cam . I know there’s others here but !!! You have been more help to me then all the other on here ! I don’t mean to be saying anything bad about them other’s, you at least get back to me with your advice, I don’t get any feedback from any of these mechanics at all, I am a Christian and I do believe in God and I will be praying for you to be blessed , I am 60 now I I grew up working on the 50s 60s and 70s vehicle when they were simple to fix but this new vehicle, I hate I have leaned more from you then I have from all there other on here . Thanks again, Have a great day bro 😎
Another great video mate 🎉 just want to ask what is the one will always go up and down on the graph the downstream or the upstream O2 sensor 🎉 thanks for the reply 🎉
It was an awesome approch to tackle a defective component but my question here is that from one of your videos you give an idea that each time you replace oxygen sensor you have to learn it so that it will last longer thank you!
Deo, I hate to tell you this, "now they are recommending MAF sensor cleaner or electronic cleaner on this sensor. They don't even want you to use brake cleaner on throttle housing. The recommendation on throttle housing cleaner is now Sea foam or throttle housing cleaner.
Hi. Can you explain why did you changed the second o2 sensor after you found the air leak? O2 b1bs2 after replacing is still not right as he is oscilating. There should be the almost the flat line in range 0.45 to 0.7v with tendention to rich side if cat is good. Will look for exhaust leaks or bad catalyst after good heatup
Mr. T 02 sensor was replaced because of how slow it was responding! no exhaust leaks were found, an 02 sensor after the cat can oscillate momentarily which is ok, but not just all the time!
Use Mass air flow sensor cleaner, not the brake cleaner man, the MAF is very sensitive to residue left in it, and the prober cleaner dosent left any residue behind.
Is there any way to diagnose if its the fuel pump or maf sensor/vac. Leak without that computer all I have is a regular obdll which I use just to get codes
@KITS_Auto_and_Truck_Repair ok so I found out my obd11 did have a live data option shrtft1 is 43-44% longft is 25-26% while idling at 680rpm I've cleaned my maf sensor and there appears to be no leaks I'm running a code p0171 right now and can't figure it out any recommendations would be greatly appreciated 😅
2015 Honda Civic 1.8 the hose leading to the throttle body and mass air sensor it was ripped well the air filter look like it wasn't changed much so that means that area wasn't moved a lot so how did that get ripped
I have the same exact car and engine. Currently dealing with weird idle. My car shakes/shuddering (noticeable enough) but no check engine light. Did a tune up recently with new spark plugs and all about less than a year ago. I also replaced the intake boot that you replaced and cleaned all my throttle body plate and MAF sensor with cleaner and a new air filter and freshly new changed oil. I looked at the fuel trims with my scanner and my short term fuel trim bank 1 is 2.3 - 3.1(%) and my long term fuel trim bank 1 is -2.3 (%) to -3.1(%). Long term is on the negative side… Would that be pointing to a bad O2 sensor you just replaced? Also my engine coolant temp is about 203F warmed and after driving for a good 20minutes. Not sure if my numbers on my car are normal? Any input would be appreciated. Thanks
Forgot to mention, i cleaned my egr valve also. My scanner also shows EGR error 99.2(%) to 0 (%) every 3 seconds… would that also be an indication of a malfunctioning egr valve?
Jomari Torres Your fuel trim numbers don't look bad at all!! did you get these numbers at idle or at high rpm? the next thing you can check is your crank and cam sensors, I'm not saying replace them but check them, if you don't have the scope to check them, you should have a pro mechanic do that for you!! so you can get to the bottom of the problem!
Jomari Torres yeah! your EGR valve might be opening at the wrong time!! but usually ego opening at the wrong time would cause your trim numbers to be high positive!!
@@KITS_Auto_and_Truck_Repair Got a check engine life for crankshaft position sensor 2 months ago and replaced it. Havent had any check engine after that and its been clear since then. The car was idle when i checked the numbers. What do you think of my egr error reading? Is that normal also? Thanks
I had the same problem with my civic. That original Honda air inlet tube is made from recycled materials to be “GREEN “ and tears apart every fee years to reminder the owner to be cool green. 😏😏
@@KITS_Auto_and_Truck_Repair you mentioned that with a vacuum leak, revving the RPM will usually correct the fuel trims with -10 to +10%. However, that wasn't the case here even with that vacuum leak.
SORRY FRIEND BUT O2 SENSOR 2 IS STILL GOING UP AND DOWN COULD YOU HAVE A BAD CATALYST? I AM DIMIS FROM GREECE HOW ARE YOU?WE HAVE NOT TALKED FOR A LONG TIME.......

A bit confused. Since the cause of the P0171 is a vacuum leak, why didn't the high RPM revert the fuel trims to normal?
@chukachuka17 what do you mean?
@@KITS_Auto_and_Truck_Repair you mentioned that with a vacuum leak, revving the RPM will usually correct the fuel trims with -10 to +10%. However, that wasn't the case here even with that vacuum leak.
Why is the downstream O2 sensor still cycling? Doesn't look right.
@schifoso there is nothing wrong!
Isn't it supposed to be a constant value? It is on my Hondas. Is the ECM messing with the fuel delivery?

LETTA LETTA I'm good my Friend! How are you? the Cat and the 02 sensor needed to warm up a little bit!
If the short term fuel trim was negative 30% what can we attribute that too
Mayowa Odus a stuck open fuel injector can cause that and etc...
