- This is a look back on Jeff Malone's career. Jeff Malone was player who could get hot in a hurry relying on his lethal jump shot and before you knew it, he had 20 points on you. Malone’s midrange game was his specialty hitting fading shots in every which direction nailing them at a high percentage. While also having a knack for running off screens for baskets and being consistently one of the best free throw shooters in the league. Helping Malone develop into a 20 point per game scorer for six separate seasons. Making two all-star appearances for the Washington Bullets. Before heading to the Utah jazz providing a scoring punch alongside Karl Malone and John Stockton. Helping the Jazz reach there first conference finals in team history. Then ending his career in Philadelphia and Miami as age and injuries caught up to him. In his prime though Jeff Malone was going to score in bunches any given night.

The prime Jeff Malone would have dominate today's NBA and he would led the current Wizards into the playoffs in his prime. Good work and keep it up.

The Great Jeff Malone was one of those Players I would call a “Silent Assassin “ … He would get The Most Quietest 20 points I ever seen & He was Super Consistent. He Played Ball like a True Professional at all times Win or Lose… It was a Honor Growing Up Watching Him put in Work for my Hometown Team… More like a Privilege. To Understand & Appreciate His Greatness You would’ve had to see His games in Real Time . He was a Smoove Operator!!!!….💯

My favorite player as a kid growing up near DC. One of the best mid range shooters to ever play. Don't think that is even a part of the game anymore. But kids could learn a lot studying his offense and shooting approach - fondly remember every dozen or so games Jeff would just go off and drop 35 to 45 and was unstoppable. He and Jordan matched up really tight. He never shot 3's - of he did he'd have gone down with a much bigger rep than he ended up with. I modeled my game after his as a kid, he was always top 10 in FT% and I used to practice free throws endlessly because of him. Really cool you put this video together because Jeff was a legit 2 time All Star in the hardcore days of the 80s and deserves to have some kind of legacy. I loved the vid, thanks man!
I think I've never heard a interview with this man. In his prime I feel I've never seen him play. I just caught up with his box scores daily. Pure shooter.

I live in the DC area and did see him play. He was a streak shooter. When he got hot, he'd hit 8 or 9 in a row. He wasn't that good on defense. He could actually play point guard a little but he greatly preferred being a 2 guard. He felt his best years were in Utah with Stockton, Malone and coach Jerry Sloan.

Thank You for doing this Jeff Malone video upon my request he was a Quiet walking bucket and a fav of mine he rarely gets mentioned even tho his mid range jumper was like butter, I enjoyed watching Jeff & Michael Jordan go at it. When i debate with younger NBA fans I bring him up ( They have no clue who he is and let them know he would get buckets in this modern NBA

He was also a better defender than he was given credit for. Until his departure to Utah, the Bullets were the only Eastern Conference team Jordan had never scored 40+ against.

Skid Denver: Did you know, the Washington Wizards (Bullets) could have had Jeff AND Moses AND Karl Malone? Jeff and Moses were already playing for Washington. True, Karl was less-known, playing at Lousiana Tech. But, Washington passed on Karl Malone, and took some guy named Kenny Green, who never panned out. I learned that in Charles Barkley's autobiography "Outrageous!" This was written around 1991. Barkley said, about the Bullets passing on Karl Malone, and picking Kenny Green instead: "Now you know why the Bullets haven't been in the playoffs, for the past 50 years!"
Nope. Moses was acquired after they passed on Karl, in part because they already had a ton of rebounding "bigs": Ruland, Mahorn, Cliff Robinson and Ballard...

I was born in Seattle in 1973, where I grew up. Sonics and Blazers fan. Japanese-Amerecium and male. I HATE Jeff Malone! BUT, that's because he KILLED the Blazers! In 1995-96, one Oregonian writer said the Blazers should have signed Jeff Malone. Imagine, Games 1 and 2, Blazers at Utah in the playoffs, were CLOSE. Think Jeff Malone would have loved to have stuck it to his old team? I have a tendency to "say the name of the player, whose shot I'm emulating, when I shoot." Imagine this scenario: In 2008 or so, I'm shooting around, and then some 15 year old boy, with his father, sees me shooting. The boy says, "Dad, who is Jeff Malone?"
