Great video series. I'm about to embark on painting our '69 Viscount. You're videos are really useful. On another point - just an observation - I think maybe the reason you struggled to wind that jockey wheel was because it looked like you already lowered the rear stabilizer legs down to the ground prior to removing the van from the tow ball. While you are winding that jockey wheel handle trying to lift the hitch off the tow ball, the front of the caravan will go up of course, so the rear has to go down, (the pivot point should be the axles) but if the stabilizer legs are already on the ground that makes that job pretty tough (the pivot point becomes the rear stabilizers!!) I know because I've done this myself :) !! Whoops! Lucky the ground at the park we were at was soft and wet! Lower those legs down after you have disconnected the van from the vehicle. Makes it a lot easier. Thanks again for the videos really, appreciate the trouble you've gone to to make the series. Keep up the great work. Love to see people like you having a crack.

Sorry to hear about mum, my condolences to family & friends. Good luck with the paint job, wouldn't you rather get someone else to do it. 😀

Be careful climbing. I was working on my rv and fell off the ladder. Broke my wrist!

The piece (latch) you move on the tow hitch is the brakes when towing, when the car brakes the caravan pushes against the coupling which activates trailer brakes, this is only used when driving forward when reversing you should close the latch.

Great! Thanks for clearing that up Dan. So if I’m moving forward and backwards while positioning the caravan, do I have to keep getting out and opening/closing the latch? That sounds annoying..

@Amie Forbes if your just positioning then close it..its only for driving forward on roads when you need trailer brakes to assist with car braking.

Prep takes most of the time when you paint, but when you are ready, you'll be so happy that you did this. Things are looking 👍 good!

Do you need to prime the entire van all at once, and then paint? Can you prime a small area and the paint it, then move onto another area? Like prime and paint one side, then the other side, then front, back and finally the top?
