Also to add, when pushing pawns don't let your opponent blockade the pawns
Attack and defense are very important in chess. Good positions were expressed. I enjoyed this video, thank you
How to attack the enemy king, use your own pieces haha
not always
@@parabolaaaaa4919 Attacking by doing absolutely nothing? Luigi would be proud
naaah bro i tought i was supposed to use oppenent's pieces
@@benprescott9217 nah you use both yours and your opponents
I thought I was supposed to keep staring angrily at the king. Thanks for the advice
13:14 cant black take your bishop because if you take the queen, Nxc2 will be a fork to the rook and black is better because 3 pieces better than queen.
great content
Use your pawns to open up a weakness to your opponent's flank, and a flank attack is good if you have center control.
When attacking, the best thing to do might be to activate a piece away from the action.
11:35 just move your bishop in between their queen n king
it’ll be check with your rook then he’ll have to block with either knight or his queen
Nice attacking game! Learned a lot again... (of course I didn't see g3).
@6:41 Im guessing 1. Bh7+ Kf8 2. Qe8+ Qf8 3. Qg6
Yeah g3 was N0T the move that I would have played there. Made sense once you explained why it was the "best move"
11:20 Qf4+ is kind of tricky, like only move is kb1 cus if rook blocks its mate after ne2+ after kb1 and ke1 both lead to mate. and if kb1 right away i guess its gg but it feels like gg anyways lol
I have been playing this line.. and it's such confusing for opponents .
7:09 that’s the move I thought with the goal of moving that queen out of there lol
sir playlist on 1000 to 1200 or something most of the intermediate players stuck there . btw love ur videos
6:40 I'll guess Qe8+ Bd8 and then Bh7+.
wouldnt you have checkmate at 7:16 with queen to e8, checking blacks king on f8, g8 and h8, then white knight would also cover f7 and h7?
Bishop to f8 would block it
After taking the black's Rook on c3 with your Knight, the game took a long time for you. Because you brought the black's Queen into the game and you were unable to castle queenside quickly to bring your Rook out to help the mating process.
He did the Greek gift sacrafice with a rook instead.. whatever will draw the king into the firing line I guess
Nelson why should our bishop not stuck behind pawn chains
I chose the Stockfish move and guessed your move correctly early on! Definitely did not see that g3 line (briefly considered the move and didn't see the point), but did choose moving the queen to the 8th rank. Great examples as always, thanks Nelson! ♟
I actually laughed when you said g3.
The idea is definitely not human, queen e8 check is much more natural
Very nice game.
06:05 After Bd3, I wonder whether how to continue after black would defend with Nf8?
Yes, Nf8 is the best move there. White has nothing immediate and black is actually a bit better.
@@eriksteffahn6172 Thank you for support! This reminds me to a witty remark by Savielly Tartakower: "You'll never be checkmated with a knight on f8." :)
Well if you want to race I'm 5th, but how do you know when is attacking a good idea, or when can the opponent just block your pawn storm or consolidate the position?
You calculate if any pieces can block the pawns, or if the opponent can just push his pawns so as not to open any file.
I hope I didn't make grammatical mistakes.
@@gaopinghu7332 you didn't, but I don't think there is any way he calculated from the first move all the way to the end, I even wonder if he went all the way until Bd3
@@alexwimmer5198 Oh no I didn't mean calculating sacrifices, squares for his pieces and stuff. Let's just calculate if the pawns can get blocked first, THEN we'll calculate the rest.
@@gaopinghu7332 it's still a lot of things to calculate...
@@alexwimmer5198 the more you practice, the more natural it'll become
4:50 Why not Rf5? Attacks the Knight, isn't in danger and pins the Knight too?
It drops the unprotected Knight on g6, I guess.
No volume?
10:20 After Nxf8 how would you have handled black playing Qd3 + ?
It looks like a mate can be forced against white's King? Or have I got that wrong.
EDIT: Sorry, I meant Qe3+ ?
Queen to d3 is illegal after knight to f8.
And if it wasn't, the pawn could just take the queen.
Also it's not check.
You probably meant Qe3+. No it's not forced mate, not even a perpetual. After Qe3+ Kd1 Qg1+ Kd2 Qf2+ Kc3 the king escapes, after Qxf8 the position is still equal though. So yes, Qe3 is a decent move, better than the immediate Qxf8, but it's not winning.
@@knownas2017 I meant Qe3+ sorry.
@@eriksteffahn6172 Isn't it better to immediately take though because when the king is on c3 it threatens the knight and the rook can already get out, so at best you lose a tempo at worst the knight and you're still under attack
@@isaacmillen8789 No, Qxf8 loses to Bh7+ like in the video, while black has some counterplay with the king on c3, like Qc5+. The best move is actually Qf7, which forces Qd8 and only then go Qxf8. Now the Bh7+ tactic doesn't work and white has nothing better than a perpetual with Qg5+ Qg7 Qd8+ Qf8.
Wow g3 had to be a double exclam, I thought the idea was king walk to c3 or something but im like that looks so dangerous. I thought the move was Qe8, probably Queen or bishop f8, then bishop h7+ kh8 and then queen back to h5, but with the king on g2 you have rook h1and i can't really see further than that but i know black would probable have to give back material because theres bishop discover check and Nf6# incoming . But yeah, sorry, g3 is just crazy.
Yo! you covered the line i said! dude, i just feel like i leveled up lmao
Nelson , i analysed my game and I took a free knight and computer said that it is a mistake.
Maybe there is a pin or skewer or a forced mate in x that your opponent missed, it’s obviously not a free knight, either that, or taking the knight resulted in a loss of momentum and tempi
Benoni pawn structure please explain
Yes,this is good please make a video on Benoni pawn structure
11:50 how is that checkmate? Can’t queen take rook?
he didn't say it's mate, he says it wins the queen, but mate would soon follow
@@trowftd ok thx I thought I was having a stroke
I'd play either Night to g5... U probably played Rxh7...
I was right! I now assume you play Ng5+ if Kxh7
11th!! Lol.
Btw nice vid as always, Nelson
How can you justify leaving your king so exposed when you went for the attack?
By winning, and the checks run out if the King runs, 'spite checks'.
@@EdMcF1 i like these videos dont get me wrong, but without the engine telling us the answers it’s not so easy to say the attack will work so just put every piece into it. It’s not practical is what I’m saying.
Nice video Nelson I rly appreciate all the videos you make your videos rly help me in all chess games can I have 1 on 1 coaching you helped me get from beginner to intermediate I rly appreciate you help my elo grow Ty for making me a better chess player can I get a ❤️ for my late birthday?

06:40 Well it's certainly *not* castling [that wouldn't be legal], and it's kinda open season for your king, so my instinct tells me *Bh7+*
