I actually have a book called "Never Built New York" that is an excellent collection of unbuilt projects. There were two designs in particular that stood out to me from the book: 1. Plans to build a bridge from Mahattan to some borough that would've essentially been a city filled with residential units, offices, stores, etc 2. Manhattan Airport that would've been HUGE and super impractical lol
i have a dumb idea but i'm putting it out there anyways, i think they should build 2WTC in the design of the original meaning that they use the tridents on the base but make it mostly out of glass but keep the similar design language. as i stated, this is only an idea and i would really not want to get too much critique about this
can you make a video about the rise in smoke and the visible damage that kept on getting worse like for example,q the north tower at 8:47 was only smoking from the impact zone but at 10:25, the whole top of the building was smoking. Basically, the damage increasing.
Would love a vid about the old penn station nyc. How it was torn up and thrown in the swamp, where treasure hunters still search for pieces. Also how they wanted to trash grand central too. Great history associated with those buildings. Thanks!
I still want to see two Diamond buildings built!!! The diamond building (or preferably two of them) would be beautiful, especially if built 1600+ feet high as supertalls. Maybe redesign them to be a little thinner so to have more room to build two of them.
Still got a chance to rebuild the twin towers somewhat with two World Trade Center being built just like one world trade without the spire… it’s not the best, but it’s the only option we have… but man, the fan made glass twin towers render looks so good…
They werent because that wasnt economically plausible and by that i mean as they were they were lease because they needed the money from the leasing, those buildings struggled to be an economical success, they were getting obsolete and a lot lit of people didnt want to work there after 93'
@@ms.shineray I appreciate what you said. But that is no excuse for what was done to them and 3000 people. I heard the opposite of what you wrote, but I respect your words.
@@user-kp8sx1nh1c yes i indeed understand why you are saying but i wasn't speaking about the rebuild part, not about what happened to them, to be honest what happened to them is so traumatizing that hust because of that they shouldn't be rebuild, the tower struggled to get 100% occupancy people tend to over look rgat they were office's buildings in the end even tho they were iconic
@@ms.shineray I appreciate what you're saying. However, I do believe they should have been retuilt and should go back up. 9/11 was done to evoke the very feelings you rightly speak of. They want us fear-filled and defeated. That's not what the Towers stood for. The North Tower's restaurant Windows on the World was the #1 restaurant in America. The South Tower's observations decks (one was indoors, the other was the roof) had over a million visitors a year. They were more than just offices; they were homes to people. I met a man who had a couch in his office in the South Tower. He would often sleep there at night. What they did destroyed so much of what people loved. For me that's hard to forgive or forget. It's was too intentional.
Honestly, modern glass buildings are just plain boring, They are all the same, in my opinion the twin towers original design was beautiful, the only thing we have left that isnt all glass is the ESB and the Chrysler..
NYC should count their blessings that they never built that airport. I would imagine as time went on it would require more and more amenities. Forever requiring expansion for additional businesses to service the airport and its customers. You know those guys designing in 45 we're only considering New York of 45. By 2023 that airports traffic would have ballooned to an almost unsustainable level. I dont even think it would still be open. If so, a "private airport" which is government use and the wealthy. Take a look at the colossal Denver airport. That is as modern as it gets. That airport would have to eat another chunk of manhattan just go keep pace . Then of course there would always be opponents to the the expansion. Demolishing of its neighbors to keep pace with the changing world. Im sure some of those surrounding buildings would eventually be considered historical landmarks and undestroyable. So it would probably eventually just become a quagmire. If it was still in operation today im sure it would be the worlds most hated airport. LOL.
I feel like that would be a security concern with boats going under the airport.

Wow, didn't watch the video before commenting and you LITERALLY discussed the bridge and airport I mentioned back to back in this video lol
@@MightBeAPizzaDG does that a lot lol I’ll comment something or ask a question & then he goes into that very topic

1:20 how could anyone even consider building something like this?
They should build the hotel Attraction, a bit taller at 1,926 feet to commemorate the year Antoni Gaudi died.
1:40 they didnt even take out 3 wtc for this render😂
Man you never heard of el trains? 🤣 4:56
Gotham? You mean Art Deco
You should check the LOMEX highway that was supposed to be built through Lower Manhattan in the 60's.
What if the south tower was hit first?
You should do a video about what if freedom tower was attack and possibly collapsed
1:26 WTF IS THAT!

The Twin Towers should have been rebuilt, period What'a there is an architectural junk yard, especially the F building.
