Man, whoever came up with these architect ideas are either more ambitious than me on a bad day, or is just crazier than me. I didn't know there was people with bigger kahoonies than me. I'm a crazy guy, i can admit that, but after watching this, i now know there's people worse than me, and i'm quite a crazy and weird guy myself, and that's to put it lightly
The Freedom Ship just sounds like a horrendous concept. Freedom to me is away from other humans, not packed like sardines without escape 😮 Liked the NOAH one though, the space hanging skyscraper was hellish sounding and the helter-skelter car drive would do my head in 🎪😂 None of these really appealed to me but fascinating to see what might have been 😊
It wasnt that bad, if u have money thats actually great. It has barely enough for an airport. u can literally jump in the ocean if theres no dangerous animals in the area. oceanic activities would be regular like water surfing, speed boating. U can also take a jet a fly over the ocean.
Regarding the Manhattan dome, has anybody ever held a magnifying glass to an ant or piece of paper? The glass concentrates heat, therefore making things really hot for anybody underneath it. With the thing being a dome the heat will have nowhere to go. And then there’s the impact on plant and animal life. In the long run, it would do more damage than good. On top of that, imagine how much repairs would cost lol.
Interestingly, I didn't find the death pyramid price "THAT" expensive in today's prices. I mean you made comparisons to The Shard... And interestingly, the price mentioned it exactly the same as the cost of The Shard. Now it was ugly - although would have taken very very very few adjustments to look iconic.
24:19 I feel like there is no possible way that this structure would work. Firstly, it would likely cost hundreds of billions, if not trillions of dollars to just transport the materials to build this thing. Secondly, if a fire started on this building, it would be extremely difficult to extinguish it. Thirdly, if it drifted of course towards the Andes mountains, the bottom of the skyscraper could hit a mountain peak. Fourthly, you can't just add millions of tons of weight to an asteroid and expect nothing about it's orbit to change. Fifthly, this building would have a ton of surface area and thus have a huge chance of getting hit by a chunk of space junk. Finally, what would happen if a hurricane hit the skyscraper?
I completely agree with everything you are saying. Given that all calculations involved have to be accurate to at least the billionth and the fact that climate change is contributing more and more to hurricanes along the east coast and below, being able to build it and let alone LITERALLY HANG IT FROM ORBIT is never going to be possible.
Hi sir I am Eren Jaeger and I am from South Africa and I have a revenge story. In December 2022 we went on a middle school excursion to play paintball. There were rules like we had to stay 10 meters away to shoot our opponents because those bullets left a mark even from far away. So my classmate Ron shot his opponent Alex in the ear at a close distance, even though he was wearing a helmet he still got temporary hearing loss and required medical attention. My male teacher really liked Alex and got angry at Ron. He and Ron went into the arena and he gave Ron a chance to run away before he got shot, so Ron began run but before he got away, he got shot in the back from 4 meters away. Ron was crying and everyone was laughing, even the teachers!!!He had no medical attention and needed tons of ice to heal.😂😂😂😂
The Freedom ship was a con game, with the "backers" of the project selling space on it BEFORE it was built... and investigations proved not only that this wasn't being built anywhere in any shipyard in the world, but the "Backers" hadn't even ordered the massive engines needed to move this monstrosity (The specialized engines were built by only a few specialized construction companies, and took a year to build.... and THESE companies had never heard of or ever been contacted by the "Backers" of this project.), nor had contracted with the specialized shipyards capable of making anything this big. They hadn't even bought the materials needed to begin building it. Those behind it were subsequently arrested and charged with fraud as they couldn't show this ship being built anywhere in the world.
I still wonder what would happen if a hurricane hit it. Or if the top of the tower got hit by a piece of space junk. Or how they would get people in and off that thing. Or how they would build it. Or what would happen if it caught fire. Or what would happen if a window on one of the top floors broke. Or what would happen if it got blown off course and towards the Andes mountains, with some peaks exceeding 11,000 ft. Or how inertia alone would stop the whole thing from crashing down. Or what would happen if there was an explosion near the top of the tower. Or...
Gods honest truth. Years ago, I had a few dreams of rotating houses and living in one. They were on a consistent slow rotation all day every day. One full rotation that took 24 hrs to complete. You could look out the window in the morning and see your neighbors house and look out the same window before bed and see the ocean.
@@megachonk9440ships have got a lot bigger, but there's no market for a trillion dollar ship that size. There's no port big enough to assemble it in, no engines large enough to power it, the 100,000 houses, and their airport.

Another insane megaproject that was never built was Airliner Number 4. It was a large, amphibious, V-shaped passenger plane with 9 floors that was planned by Norman Bel Geddes and Otto A. Koller in the early 30s, and like the Freedom Ship, it was too expensive to build.
Attaching a sky scraper to an asteroid is an extremely wild thing to do, there are several ways it can go wrong, the asteroid may get attracted to the earth and smash onto cities making hazardous mess, the height is unbelievable to be true, thats crazy
Well, that sphere got built anyway, maybe not as Laboulaye planned. It is in Las Vegas. It is a very large spherical billboard. Sometimes even just showing an emoji that makes it look like a sleeping sun. 😴
The really amazing thing is, most, (not all, but MOST) of these really are possible from a purely technical perspective: We have strong enough materials, and the know-how to engineer them. The issues are just cost and, in some cases, sanity.
Regarding 20:40, if an elevator got to 60mph and reached a floor a mile up in one minute, that would kill everyone on board and then catapult their corpses into the ceiling of the elevator. Ascending 1 mile in 1 minute at 60mph means the elevator would have to start at and stop from 60mph instantly with no time to accelerate or decelerate. Realistically, it's entirely possible that an elevator *couldn't* hit 60mph in that short of a span without causing a noteworthy amount of discomfort in its passengers. If it did hit that speed, it would only be for 10 or so seconds at best. The rest of the time would be accelerating and decelerating at rates that didn't make passengers violently ill.

Someone's probably mentioned it already, but with the Phare Du Monde, I would have thrown up from driving in so many circles to get up there in the first place. And if that's their idea of making room for lunch, I'm out!
But if you dangle a massive building from an orbiting asteroid with the bottom end in the air. Wouldn't that turn lower part of the building into a massive airbreak that'd slow down the asteroid and cause it to fall out of orbit? That's literally Aerobreaking, a technique used to slow down space probes to bring them into orbit without having to burn fuel.

They could have built them when they were conceived, but the whole concept was really dumb then and it hasn't gotten any smarter.
