Kelly - did you live downtown in a sceney spot like the village, soho, or nolita? You have to try UES, especially Yorkville. It's a totally different vibe. Not as trendy, but very laid back. What?! Deposits of at least 1-2 months rent are mandatory in the UK. And you often never see it again as the landlord says you wrecked the place and they need to clean it after you leave.

Love this video reminded me of when I lived in NY. Expensive rent for a small apt. So girl I hear you I will keep my Spacious Florida apartment as well... lol
Hear me out. Okay, no one will read this. However, I have lived in the NYC area my entire life. 34 years. I am 15 minutes from Midtown Manhattan. Have an entire house and massive backyard I bought in October for the same price per month as those apartments. Trees and beauty. Simple, quiet life. Safety. I sleep with my doors unlocked. But I am 15 minutes to the city when I want it. I know you said New Jersey is an option, but the late nights are a worry. But if you are close enough, it's really not an issue. Uber, have a friend drive, etc. Anyway, just a thought! Kind of best of both worlds for me. You're the best, Kelly!
Don't fall for this $500 "application fee." Your joker, er... broker was making up for the fact that they can't charge broker fees anymore. And don't fall for the false sense of urgency. While it was true in The Before Times, there is SO MUCH inventory now. Hold out until you find what you want. Yorkville is amazing, it is where I film Tiny Kitchen Theater. And yes, make sure your windows face a quiet courtyard, NOT the street. You LIVE in NYC, your apartment is just where you keep your shoes.
I found a nice lil mans here and tbh I want to just live in his place 70% of the time then go back to my boring home in FL lmao. I don't have the energy for city anymore. Love that you did this! Sometimes I go to Trulia to check out apartments in NYC, which I am nowhere near. If I actually calculate the space that I use in my home it's probably like 400sq ft. I could easily live in a shoebox. With good light. Also put dog poo in a decoy amazon box outside your door. For a while. Works like a charm on Amazon thieves.
Classy. Timeless. Forever Stamp ✨💌✨
Also the camera tilt to show us her hand hitting the desk to make a point 😂😂😂
YES! Park Slope and DUMBO are among my favorite NYC neighborhoods. I’d definitely look in those areas. But again, I’m a Brooklyn boy. 🤣
I visited NYC last year when it was DIRT cheap and had a blast! IT is truly a one of a kind city. Glad to see you movin there (:
9:06 these are the moments I love most about Kelly's videos. I replayed it so many times
It’s crazy that these are the prices for a budget apartment in NYC, here in Michigan that’s a five bedroom mansion with a pool LOL
It’s a rip off 😂
Lol I pay $650 in Detroit and I don't even live in the hood
@@yippehanako Lucky, I pay $800 in Kalamazoo and I am straight in the hood😭
Can you walk everywhere? Do you have public transportation? Can you easily make six figures?
Left NY 4 years ago and will never look back even though I'm only an hour away now lol..
25 making that money. NY is perfect for you. Live your best life boo!!
Besides Long Island & New Jersey many people also live upstate (Westchester..) & in Connecticut to be near NYC.
I have been waiting on this moment lol manifesting you back to nyc in something you actually enjoyyyy!
Kelly back in the city, I never thought I would see this again
Holy Cow! I used to work at that bakery you briefly walked past “Two Little Red Hens” unfortunately they are still closed but are relocating! I highly recommend going to the new location! Greetings from prospect park, BK!
Girl, not ny again?! Lmao I love how you just get up and go, real liberated energy 😌
nyc is a toxic ex LOL
My friend recommended your channel & I'm hooked... Love your sarcasm... Have you ever thought of possibly livign abroad? I'm currently living in Thailand on a tropical island, where my monthly expense is still less than a NYC apartment
NYC is healing and the rental agents are gaining their mighty powers back.
@In the life of Mia That part lol.
I LOVED the last apartment! I have friends that lived in the LES last time I visited--they lived at 95 Wall street then....and luxury apt. building w a doorman. It was a 2 bedroom 1 bath at FOUR GRAND A MONTH in 2011!!!! The plus? It was full of single rich stock brokers!! The minus--kind of a dead area on the weekends. They've since moved to DUMBO. Good luck on your search!

I was very upset about how much my rent is living in FL and now seeing these apartments I'm like I'm doing great! Lol
Love this video reminded me of when I lived in NY. Expensive rent for a small apt. So girl I hear you I will keep my Spacious Florida apartment as well... lol
Kelly:"im only 25 Onceeeeee..."
me: *"TWICE!"*
HAHA *cue the chant*
Ok but your channel is actually pretty nice!
Thanks for commenting and making me get to know a new channel (lol)
@@BBaaaaa ❤❤❤
Welcome back to NYC! We've missed you
And we back in NYC 🍎❤
The exposed brick is GORGEOUS! Awesome video. Very creative and you did some great editing. You inspire me!
Oooh we gonna be getting that NYC content it seems 😌👌
I will be here for ALL of this! So exciting that you're moving back! ugh I can't wait to go back to NYC!
Please make a "why I'm leaving florida" video! I'm moving there soon and I'd love to have some tips/more info
I found a nice lil mans here and tbh I want to just live in his place 70% of the time then go back to my boring home in FL lmao. I don't have the energy for city anymore. I'll seriously propose the idea. Today some man took a photo of my legs on the F train. FOR NO REASON. Absolutely not coming back full time.
I have 0 complaints about Florida and I can find things wrong with EVERY city I've lived in.
Kelly Stamps the mans is in Florida or nyc?
@@KellyStamps the other day a man on a bench waited until I was walking in front of him and took a picture of my ass. With his camera phone volume on loud so I heard a deafening click. Creeps are a global phenomenon, this happened in Belfast. My ass has also been touched many times. Xox
Whaaat, Kelly back in NYC? I’m here for it!! I left NYC and moved to the Orlando area in March and I’m bored out of my mind. Thanks for bringing us along on your journey 🌺
To have this much money and still be minimalist is an underrated skill.
😅
Professor Kelly Stamps 1. Sending you all of the love and good energy as always and 2. Would you ever review some of your students videos and maybe give some critiques on how to better their videos? 💖
Who else don't plan on moving to NYC, but still watched the whole video anyway?
Lol me I live here
I live in Ireland and I watched the whole thing anyway
I work in NYC but live in LI. No desire to live there, but ya never know!
hullo!! I felt it when you said what's the use of making all this money if you are going to enjoy yourself; because this is basically what I have tried (and more often failed) to tell myself the past 4 years. So, I have decided to allow myself 1 takeout per month (I still think food is really just a basic human need and I won't be convinced by however it's cooked or plated)
