I have a odd 1 for you.i have a 04 lwb dually sprinter 2.1 i had to put another engine in.my original engine was a 130 hp.i purchased a 2006 van and pulled rhe engine its a 90hp.its in and running on the 120 hp ecu its throwing edc light..there is no leaks.im planning on pulling the injectors and send them away to be tested and high flowed.and i think at some stage fit a bigger turbo.that should fix it and return my 130 hp..its running good just not right if that makes sense.😂 Thanks for your videos there awesome.im in Australia ✌️
We didn't get those engine options here but I'm guessing the ECM programming is the issue. We have only two options in the states, OM612 and OM647 engine. The OM647 ECM will command either type injector but the OM612 ECM won't play well with OM647 injectors. Curious if your old engine and new engine injectors are the same model number.
Most versions of DAS will do it and I've heard of other code reader/tools that will, but I don't know which ones. I use an old DRBiii from a Chrysler dealership.
Great video! I have a 2005 with 300k miles. It was running great, but the Fuel tank was leaking from the top. When i took it out to tighten the plastic nut, i found a couple of the hoses looked raggedy, so i replaced them. Now, it's slow to start and gives low rail pressure code. What did I mess up? Would appreciate any advice!
@FloridaVanMan Thanks again for your excellent videos! i took the tank out and checked the lines. I have good fuel pressure at the new filter. It's really slow to start but runs great once it starts. Sometimes, it gives code P0087 when starting, and sometimes it doesn't. It takes a good 15 to 20 seconds to start. Any ideas?
@@michaeltablet8577 That sounds like a rail pressure problem. Either the pressure control valve at the back of the fuel rail or one of the injectors likely leaking to the return line so the engine must turn a little longer or a little faster to get the pressure needed for starting. I'd monitor the fuel pressure while cranking and run the leak-off test. Search my videos for "leak-off" and you will find two videos showing the same test with different tools and different engines.
I have done that before. They rebuilt them with a stern warning and I wish I had just junked them because now I worry about them every time the van has a hiccup.
I took this van to 5 different mechanics and Bill , the florida van man is the only one that knew how to fix this van. Very happy
And a huge thank you from Tasmania! :)
Thank you for the heads up!!
Those Chinese injectors are a crime

What's the best code scanner or tool to buy for coding injectors?

Slow start and low rail pressure are both symptoms of air leaking into the system. Could one of the lines be pinched between the tank and frame?
@FloridaVanMan thank you so very much! I'll check it out. I really appreciate all your videos!

@FloridaVanMan thank you very much. That's my next move.
You should send those injectors to get tested to see how they spray
It would probably damage the testing rig and the testing shop would probably refuse to even test that garbage
