      zeck Uhhh it's powered by a reaction from silver and zinc inside the solvent to produce electricity what you are thinking about is a combustion engine this is an electric engine. www.google.com/search?q=define+engine&oq=define+engine&aqs=chrome..69i57j0l3.3520j0j4&client=ms-android-verizon&sourceid=chrome-mobile&ie=UTF-8

      an electric motor is not an engine. if there's no combustion, there's no engine

      An engine is a motor that converts thermal energy to mechanical work.

      Joshua Pierre just because you're some freak who has some weird hard-on for ICEs, I looked up the definition of motor.
      mo·tor
      /ˈmōdər/
      noun
      1.a machine, especially one powered by electricity or internal combustion, that supplies motive power for a vehicle or for some other device with moving parts.
      "especially one powered by electricity or internal combustion."
      if you're gonna say something idiotic on the internet, at least look it up first.

      Sand Man yes it is water with some sort of electrolyte in it probably drain cleaner. there are 2 wites an input and output the closer they are together the more power will go through thus making the motor spin faster

      Takumi couldn't overcome the lan-evo's misfiring system and blew the engine.
      Happens in the second stage.

  • @nic12344
    @nic12344 7 років тому +3

    By sound I would say the first one was around 2400 RPM.
    Sounds just like a metronome at 600 BPM at 240 FPS.
    Since it has 2 pairs of pistons alternating, we divide 600 by 2.
    So 300 RPM at 240 FPS wich is 8 times slower than real time.
    300 x 8 = 2400 RPM

    • @terner9655
      @terner9655 7 років тому +1

      Nicholas R.M. I don't think that it was 240 fps. They wouldn't film it in a high fps just to show it at 240 fps right? UA-cam only shows 60fps so that doesn't seem right. Also, doesn't the motor have 4 pairs of pistons alternating? 2 on each side?

    • @maxneale6334
      @maxneale6334 7 років тому

      leinadyon this is not a mini 4wd motor... Tamiya mini 4wds have very little gear-down in the transmission, sk the motors are engineered for torque, while larger rcs have much lower gearing, thus requiring more motor rpm. Also mini 4wd motors run at around 2.4v, while 540 motors are normally run at around 7.2-11.1v. Brushless 540 motors can reach 100,000 rpm

    I remember doing a project in my engineering class and the motor you used in this looks exactly the same. So if I recall correctly it is capable of reaching 16000 rpm.

    Mounting is way too loose so you're getting a lot of vibration. Use a brushless motor and laser RPM meter. Superglue the parts and see how fast it'll go (I recommend at least face protection because when that blows, bad things!).

    Do you lube up the moving parts with a drop of oil or something? Or do you run it dry? Curious :o

    you should connect the brick with the motor on to the actual engine thing because I think that's the main reason it's exploding as it's shaking around a lot

    You can take a guess as to approximate RPM by examining the piston movement. The video is 30fps, so at the points where the pistons appear to not be moving, they are bouncing up and down at some multiple of the framerate.

    honda, somewhere north of 8k rpm.
    1st v8 was chevy, red line 5500, blew up at 5300...
    2nd v8 dodge hemi, you can tell b/c nothing usable left after failing...
