Joshua Pierre just because you're some freak who has some weird hard-on for ICEs, I looked up the definition of motor. mo·tor /ˈmōdər/ noun 1.a machine, especially one powered by electricity or internal combustion, that supplies motive power for a vehicle or for some other device with moving parts. "especially one powered by electricity or internal combustion." if you're gonna say something idiotic on the internet, at least look it up first.
Sand Man yes it is water with some sort of electrolyte in it probably drain cleaner. there are 2 wites an input and output the closer they are together the more power will go through thus making the motor spin faster
its salt water with the positive/negative terminal being copper(thats what buzzles in the water). been there done that. easiest way to control low voltage
Wasn't god arm he did that with, it was the lan-evo3 down Akagi after the mid-speed chicanes. Takumi couldn't overcome the lan-evo's misfiring system and blew the engine. Happens in the second stage. #RebootInitialD #InitialDNewSeriesPlease
use graphite powder as lubricant. it works amazing. if u cant find graphite powder. ground some 2B pencil leads into fine powder, it works just as good
Surely this more of a testament to the high quality of LEGO plastic, its very strong. That the plastic survived such forces is highly impressive, considering its a mass produced toy.
OMG YOURE THAT GUY FROM THE, "Takumi Taco™" SHOP here in NY! I have heard about you, you deliver the tacos up and down the straight roads of Manhattan, legend has it that youre the fastest driver here, mainly because you know to avoid the highly congested areas of the city
@sayaman, how are you controlling the RPM of the motor? With a pan of water? Is it tap or salt water? And how did you come up with that idea? Brilliant!
By sound I would say the first one was around 2400 RPM. Sounds just like a metronome at 600 BPM at 240 FPS. Since it has 2 pairs of pistons alternating, we divide 600 by 2. So 300 RPM at 240 FPS wich is 8 times slower than real time. 300 x 8 = 2400 RPM
Nicholas R.M. I don't think that it was 240 fps. They wouldn't film it in a high fps just to show it at 240 fps right? UA-cam only shows 60fps so that doesn't seem right. Also, doesn't the motor have 4 pairs of pistons alternating? 2 on each side?
leinadyon this is not a mini 4wd motor... Tamiya mini 4wds have very little gear-down in the transmission, sk the motors are engineered for torque, while larger rcs have much lower gearing, thus requiring more motor rpm. Also mini 4wd motors run at around 2.4v, while 540 motors are normally run at around 7.2-11.1v. Brushless 540 motors can reach 100,000 rpm
I noticed that the lego version the legs were moving slightly faster and the other one was slower, getting more grip. You should do the race again but on a carpet.
I remember doing a project in my engineering class and the motor you used in this looks exactly the same. So if I recall correctly it is capable of reaching 16000 rpm.
Mounting is way too loose so you're getting a lot of vibration. Use a brushless motor and laser RPM meter. Superglue the parts and see how fast it'll go (I recommend at least face protection because when that blows, bad things!).
you should connect the brick with the motor on to the actual engine thing because I think that's the main reason it's exploding as it's shaking around a lot
You can take a guess as to approximate RPM by examining the piston movement. The video is 30fps, so at the points where the pistons appear to not be moving, they are bouncing up and down at some multiple of the framerate.
honda, somewhere north of 8k rpm. 1st v8 was chevy, red line 5500, blew up at 5300... 2nd v8 dodge hemi, you can tell b/c nothing usable left after failing...
New video is up! We did everything you guys suggested! See how a 4 banger will fair against a dremel on my channel

it sounds like a legitimate engine.

an electric motor is not an engine. if there's no combustion, there's no engine
An engine is a motor that converts thermal energy to mechanical work.
Joshua Pierre just because you're some freak who has some weird hard-on for ICEs, I looked up the definition of motor.

the one with 8 cylinders actually sounds like a V8, thats awesome.
101 owlman was looking for a comment that said it.. it really does lmao.
Lol, its sick that motor. I have the very large F1 Technic set which has a v8. I don't have an actual motor for it though.
when takumi over revs his engine during the fight against the 86 in the last stage
Zinc Waste HAHAHAHAHA XD
Lol
aw fuck now im sad again that i finished watching the series just recently

Nice! I see we share a mutual love of destroying LEGO engines!
And stepping on them!

I have that setting on my washing machine.
sayaman Whirlpool or Kenmore. lol
Dude I see you everywhere I go
steelcurtain656 nah, just a bunch of fucks lacking individuality
the thing is, it actually starts to sound like a real engine if you didnt change gears
koenigsegg one:1 doesn't have gears.
it's the regera, not the one:1

I love how it sound like a really motor
Why do these sound better then my car
Amy Stockton No exhaust system :)
That cheap brushed motor couldn't do 50k rpm.
Cheap brushed motor that could.

Legend has it that v-tech still hasnt kicked in
Add some oil before you run the engine damn it!

best comment thread of all time
@sayaman, how are you controlling the RPM of the motor? With a pan of water? Is it tap or salt water? And how did you come up with that idea? Brilliant!
the fact that it was able to get anywhere near that speed is incredible. those lego engineers are some smart guys.
we will make it go faster soon, i promise you that,
2:04 - same noise I make when I'm done... "...and boom goes the dynamite." - Cleveland Brown
When a lego engine sounds better than your ford lol
knock knock whos there piston number 3
That V8 actually sounded tough!! @1:03
wow the struts over the piston heads made a real difference
what motor did you use, and what was that honda engine :P
Random internet user Stupid hair picture ;)
the second v8 explosion was awesome... rev, rev, rev, rev, BOOM.
The part where all the little yellow toy pistons pop out, like 'surprise!', is bloody hilarious. Nice one.

Nicholas R.M. no one asked you
Wtf is your problem?
Nicholas R.M., thanks, man. Really smart calculations there. I knew I'd find a comment that said the real RPM.
Nicholas R.M. I don't think that it was 240 fps. They wouldn't film it in a high fps just to show it at 240 fps right? UA-cam only shows 60fps so that doesn't seem right. Also, doesn't the motor have 4 pairs of pistons alternating? 2 on each side?
cool n cute

Love your guys's potentiometer as a bowl of water. Genius in a pinch!
i love how the last one explodes with a kazoo like buzz.. all it needs is some confetti
looks like ford finally partnered with lego.
You mean Chevy and dodge
Definitely not 50,000 rpm
NovaOrbitDragon ...definitely
wow i cant believe it holds up to those RPM levels. quite impressive. The last one, with it just coming all apart, that was awesome.
1:15 THat slo mo tho - that was my favorite slo mo in any video I've ever seen lol XD
50.000rpm ???that are 10.000 rpm
unithsv oh you must be a human tachometer. I'll hire you for my next vid.
sayaman joking right?
+sayaman lmfao
competitive Mini 4WD electric motors can reach up to 10.000-29.000 rpm (depends on the type)

Honda are shit mate
Say nothing about honda motorcycles, they rock :P
Ten Koleś they have nothing over ducatti
Dominic Cousins 🖕🏻
Creeperboy you don't need to make fun of honda, they make fun of themselves
A good break down of what goes on in the cash for clunkers engine disabling process.
That whine at the end though, so awesome
Tbh it's not really a motor.
tbh you dont seem like you're from the UK
"Enough with Honda motors" Really? Seriously? Do you *even?*
I am impressed on the engine build. Really good job.
I love when it blows the heads, intake and pistons all at the same time
I love blowing heads but destroying lego motors is fun as well.
That's a inline 4 not a v8
Baba's Custom Lego Creations you're an inline 4
?
People in the comments
second one was a v8
yes it was
i cant believe how accurate the engines are
Sounded so authentic
2nd one roaring sounded so good
This is great. It's even better how the V8 sounds like a V8 and right before it blows up it sounds like it's misfiring.
Haha! Nice! This video is blowing up your channel! You gotta do more of these! Funny shit!
I Love how it just spontaneously disassembles.
Can you make video of building that last engine plase? Btw good video
That actually had a really nice engine sound
This is so crazy. Nice man
topping out engines is so fucking interesting. even plastic toy representations.
innovation is life.
That last big block V8 shook itself apart
Thats cool how they actually sound like the actual gasoline engines
Loved it :D
each type of engine he made sounded like how they would if they were real
Dang, that's like revving a real-world equivalent to around 20,000 rpm.
I sure hope my engine do't go boom like that lol. Always entertaining to watch such things breakdown.
This video was surprisingly Awesome. And kind of hilarious.
Hilarious, oh we were laughing because we were shooting nitrous oxide.
I noticed that the lego version the legs were moving slightly faster and the other one was slower, getting more grip. You should do the race again but on a carpet.
When that VTech kicked in tho😂
Can you make a flat 6? That would be so cool.
nothin like that lego tuner noise to get the blood moving. lmao!
For sure need some ARP head studs for that! 😂
i love the fact that a truly sounds like a muscle car!
That second one sounded more manly than Honda civics with fart cans
that lego inline 4 is no joke
pretty nice speed control
ace really enjoyed it.
I remember doing a project in my engineering class and the motor you used in this looks exactly the same. So if I recall correctly it is capable of reaching 16000 rpm.

WOOO

Gave out like my great grandfather's LS motor.
Do you lube up the moving parts with a drop of oil or something? Or do you run it dry? Curious :o
this is something beautifull thanks for this video
stuff this good isn't free. You can leave some cash in my mailbox or you can give me roblox coins, which ever is more convinient
This is an extremely underrated channel
I'm just glad they can be re built
the last one was awesome!
you should connect the brick with the motor on to the actual engine thing because I think that's the main reason it's exploding as it's shaking around a lot
the noises so realistic 😍😍
You can take a guess as to approximate RPM by examining the piston movement. The video is 30fps, so at the points where the pistons appear to not be moving, they are bouncing up and down at some multiple of the framerate.
i have to say it's does sounds cool :D
The funny thing is, it sounds exactly like the the full scale engine XD
honda, somewhere north of 8k rpm.
1st v8 was chevy, red line 5500, blew up at 5300...
2nd v8 dodge hemi, you can tell b/c nothing usable left after failing...
Are you putting the current through liquid at different distances to act as your rheostat?
Should have used forged engine components! Great work
Damn. Sound like real engine too
When it breaks, it sounds like a lugnut being taken out
idk why but this shit is hilarious
